I went past the crowd of Mennonites at the front door and asked the folks at the front if they could loan me a shovel or get someone from the grounds crew to move the kitty off to the culvert and off the roadway. Very sad. :( The store itself was very crowded and there were vendors offering demonstrations - some sort of hunting season was about to commence - but being an animal lover, I tried to get through that area as quickly as possible to camping. I could not believe how small their camping section was! Disappointed, the young men in the camping department pulled up inventory for the next Cabela's store on my route and confirmed that they did indeed have what I was seeking: a waterproof duffel for the back of my motorcycle. After the previous night's rainstorm - I was beginning to think that the single water proof stuff sack and using plastic bags inside stuff sacks would be an inadequate solution! As I left the store, I saw a young man on a golf cart heading over to the side of the road where the big black and white kitty lay dead. I went over and thanked him for helping out as he scooped up the kitty corpse and gave him a maritime funeral in the storm culvert full of high water and grass. I thought happy kitty thoughts in that cat's honor and hopped in my truck and headed east. Thanks, Cabela's Kearny, for honoring my request to help out with something that wasn't really your problem and being kind to that little animal at least!

I was…read morelooking at sandals and she hadn't seen my kids and I yet, and was loudly talking to another lady about how "Mexicans always ruin the store" and she "hates when they come in" because "they never put anything away" and kept going and then when she saw me had a fake smile and asked how my kids and I were and if we were finding everything. I left that day and didn't buy anything. Came back a few days later hoping she wasn't working only to hear the same type of comments from her to someone else at one point she made a very disturbing comment about "Mexicans who don't speak English need to learn or go back to where they came from. This is America and we speak English here." This isn't the first time she's made comments like this and now the three girls who were there who would help and try to help speak Spanish and would have the questions out for us no longer work there. I think I'll have to start going to the other shoe stores in the mall or just go to target. Famous has forever lost my business and my family and friend's business after hearing how they talk about my family and friends just by our nationality and the language we speak.
