I wanted to come in to practice shooting for an hour before license qualification. I was quoted the range fee was $38 a day. I do NOT wish to shoot for an ENTIRE day nor do I wish to become a member. This company only caters to those with deep pockets and not the casual shooter who wishes to come in for only an hour several times a year. Even with their cheapest Silver membership of $150/annually, you would still be required to pay 50% range fees everytime you go in. They are only in it for the money. read more

Shot here this past Sunday as part of a training course. The first thing I noticed was how nice everyone was! Was welcomed as soon as I came in. The folks were helpful and smiling. I'd completed their online waiver ahead of time so I didn't have to do anything upon arrival. Downstairs is where the ranges and a small classroom are located. The range guys were also pleasant and professional. There are a couple policies in place that don't make sense to me, but that's a small thing, I suppose. The range is well organized and easy to use. Firearms prices upstairs were pretty much on par with other local places, though there is a decent selection. read more

I was recommended by a friend to Shooter's Supply. Made an appointment for handgun safety class. I was given an hour of instruction and then an hour of range time with Rodney. My accuracy was improved by just this one session. He was great! He corrected a lot of the bad habits I had developed over the years and gave me some excellent advice about developing awareness and readiness. Very friendly indoor range with a great location. I've been to over a dozen indoor ranges across multiple states and while this may not be state of the art it is a solid and safe shooting environment. Staff is friendly and the ROs are knowledgeable and focused on everyone's safety. After only a few visits people recognized me and called me by name. You don't get much more personal service. The gun shop upstairs has a nice selection of everything and the same enthusiastic staff. Sure they want to sell you a gun, but you get the feel they'd be just as happy to sit and bullshit about shooting because they love what they do. read more

I just moved here so I thought I would try this shop. Extremely disappointed with their customer service. I needed a holster for my carry pistol and asked for assistance and was told to look it up online. I ended up having to guess what to buy and of course bought the wrong thing. There were employees walking around but I guess they don't care unless you are buying something expensive. I will not go back and I highly recommend you not to go there. read more

I was a member 2different times. The owner at the first time was wonderful and very helpful! My husband had just passed away and I needed to learn to shoot and have a gun for protection b/c I lived on lake and was pretty isolated. The next time I joined about 8 yrs later, ownership had changed and gone south!!! Horrible experience.. jacked up prices... and very unappreciative ownership. Won't be back!!! Larry Hopper and family are on their way toward creating a new Hixson tradition with their clean, friendly, (and female-friendly), combo-store/range located just south of the cloverleaf on Hixson Pike. Customer parking in front; member parking along the north side. Decent and growing selection of new and gently used firearms, along with accessories and gun smithing services on site. Expanded range hours to begin April 1st, with 'friendly' leagues to follow. Several membership programs available, or simply rent a lane. (Note: No high-power calibres or reload ammo permitted). A full range of classes are offered, from 'carry permit' through advanced self-defence levels. The lanes are in excellent mechanical condition, and don't take five minutes to 'settle' after positioning, but could be a bit brighter beyond 15 yards. (Or maybe it's my eye-sight!) Clean restrooms, staging counters, AND a cleaning room are provided. My friend Katniss (pictured), pronounced her outing here "Super!" Bought a handgun and a Romeo 1 sight at another store. Didn't know the sight did not already come installed. Went to 3 different gun places none of them were interested in installing it. First time gun owners this is not the place to buy from. Their customer service is awful. I was told nothing about the gun I purchased other than the name and how many rounds it will hold. I had to ask for bullets. In which I was then told I get a discount on the bullets since I purchased the gun....what kind of business does not upsale and what am I going to do with a gun with no bullets. Staff is unfriendly and very dry. I definitely felt like just another number and I will not be a repeat customer. read more

Do they have a range, sure. Is it going to be hotter than hell if you go in the summer, you know it. Outside of the range it's a really small shop. If you are looking for anything outside of standard pistol ammo, a few magazines and your basic guns go somewhere else. I'd suggest going somewhere else for buying just about anything as I found they over charge a good amount on what few items they do have in stock. read more

Update: I tried to tell people. Management at this place is not what they seem to be. They are hypocrites- a gun store that doesn't support the Second Amendment because we're all stupid. A family place where only some kids are welcome (theirs, not yours). Everyone welcome- as long as you're an old opinionated white man that hates everyone and does nothin but spread conspiracy crap. There guy on the news is just the tip of the iceberg. Great expose by channel 3. I was told by a co-worker that this was a friendly place. He has apologized because what he experienced is MUCH different than the way I was treated. It's not his fault this place is not what people think. He goes in and everyone is nice, polite and friendly. I go in and it's the exact opposite. Not sure if it's because I'm a woman or a woman of color but either way, I was ignored until I made noise asking if anyone was going to help me. The look I got was like I was an inconvenience. I wanted to take the permit class and get a membership, I was coming to give them money and do I get a smile? NO, I get huffed at. I asked to see the range and was pointed to the stairs. I found my way around without any help from them - so much for the 'free range tours' they brag about. As best as I can tell, it's just a bunch of old white men that don't have time for anything other than Fox news. And that's ok, if that's what you want. Great people who want to help you, they have lots of accessories, holsters, speed loaders, mags. At least 50 pistols in the case. Ammo from .22 to 12 gauge. "Gunsmith" is terrible! Culture in this shop is awful! Oct 2017 I brought in a bolt action rifle for the gunsmith to replace the barrel. He stated 3 weeks since he was so busy. Long story short...6.5 months later he still has not even started! Never, not once, did he ever call me to inform of the delays. At the 5 month mark I visited the shop to complain to the shop owner and he raised his voice in aggravation at me as he defended this guy. Today (6.5 months later) I pickup up my rifle and parts. After waiting 45 minutes in the shop he delivered what parts he could find...I am missing 2 components...he offered to order for me...but based on this experience I declined. Not a single time during this entire 6.5 month ordeal did anyone in the shop, including the owner, apologize, offer kind words, or even try to be nice. This is not the way to conduct business. I will never return to this shop and warn others of visiting this shop...particularly the "gunsmith". read more

This business is under new ownership. Rumors about the previous owner's poor attitude stopped me from coming to this business prior to now. Once I found out it was under new ownership and hearing some positive reviews from friends, I decided to take my concealed carry permit class here. The parking up front is kind of tricky but they do offer parking on the north side of the building that's not so bad. The people behind the counter are super friendly and very helpful. The class was $65.00 plus an extra $20.00 to rent a 22 pistol and ammo for the test. You can bring your own weapon but I opted to rent since I have not had a chance to practice with me new gun yet which is a higher caliber. The classes are required by the state to be 8 hours so make sure you have some time on your hands. They offer one class that is biweekly in 2 parts on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 5:30 to 9:30 which I took and another class on Saturdays for the full 8 hours. The instructor Adam was very nice and knowledgeable. He was very detail oriented and made the students feel at ease and took extra time to explain things to students who needed help. I would highly recommend taking your class here. I would also recommend getting a membership to the indoor shooting range. They are very reasonably priced and I will be coming back to get mine. The store was very clean, the testing area and shooting range were very clean as well the restrooms. Buy local as this place is family owned. Reasonably priced on their guns an ammo and cheaper that the corporate stores down the road. This place gets 5 stars from me!
