The lady who owned the store was chatting away showing off new items in the clothing boutique at the back of the room. She was lovely and very approachable. I needed up buying a top and necklace for my mother in law. The fashion is really nice and aimed at ladies in their 40s+ I would say. I was into plenty of it, as they have a really nice on trend rack. The home wares are fun interior decor items inc paintings, ornaments, furniture, vases and mirrors. I have my eye on a cactus cookie jar. They were in the middle of taking down all their Christmas stuff so can't wait to see what stock they put in it's place.

If you're in the market for wall art, pillows, objets d'art, vases, or all sorts of other doo-dads, give this place a try. It's small, but crammed full, and the selection is constantly being updated. Don't forget to look upstairs too. This place is dangerously close to my work AND my house (sort of halfway in between, so I'll be stopping in frequently for new items. The prices were really reasonable for what they had, and the manager, Sydney, was a delight to chat with. She said they've been open for about a year and a half. Too long for me not to know about them! Definitely adding this to my usual list of places to check out for gorgeous decor.

Currently seasonal items are 60-70% off (some seriously cute Xmas décor and ornaments) and the remainder of the store is 20-30% off. They have really cute jewellery and unique items for special gifts. I really like their line of moon necklaces/bracelets where you pick the phase of the moon on a special date (birth, death, wedding, etc.) and can wear it as jewellery. I also like their sparkly Swarovski crystal bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Some stuff here for sure can be found elsewhere or online for less but that's not the point of a boutique store. It's getting to go somewhere and browse through various collections to find the perfect gift for someone special. If you're a fan of s'well bottles, they still have a fairly good collection of unique ones and at 20% off you're paying a fair price for the designer s'wells. (Note you can get plain jane ones at Costco for $30) but the ones here are GORGEOUS and make me smile. But at the Prettiest Present they really have a great variety of really useful gifts! From presents for those pooch peeps, to culinary and kitchen gadgets - as well as neat necessities. Then there are the baby gifts, the seasonal decor for your own abode, a wall of tempting teas and some really unique jewelry. And then the pies de resistance... they have the most fabulous collection of gift bags, gift boxes and paper so that when you find that perfect present you can also wrap it up without having to go to another store! I was greeted by Wonder Woman (it was Halloween) and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me browse the store without pressure (which I really appreciate because some stores can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase). Other than Christmas decorations, Jilly's a bit of everything! There is clothing in the back (it's very expensive though - so expensive I almost choked on my gum). They also have numerous home decor items, candles, bath and soap products, they have a lot of stuff. The sale section towards the back of the store drew me in immediately (it had purses). While other similar stores haven't survived until today this one was a great visit when we wandered Whyte Avenue with some visitors from out of the country and they picked up some unique souvenirs. The store is so filled with items that there's always something new to spot when visiting. It is perhaps hard to find what you're looking for if you only want to find something very specific but if you're open to finding new things this is a great option! The floor creaks when you walk in some spots and the decor and store itself is old but this adds to the charm. It can be overwhelming to visit (but sometimes this saves me some money).
