Nice clean store but my experience working in the food service department was mean and biased by the entire staff but one. Treated poorly,sabotaged and nobody would speak to me in a language I understood unless upper management was around. After all the training and staying extra hours because I was the 3rd person that I know of this happening to:they did not want to fix the problems and relatives (theirs and management knows that relatives all of them basically are in that department)in the same department....easiest thing for them to do was move me(why?) to another less paying department and I had to be retrained:SOUND FAIR TO YA'LL.... No I was told it's just too bad and there was multiple meetings about this because their behavior is being alotted. I REFUSE TO SHOP AT A STORE THAT LETS ONE GROUP GANG UP AGAINST SOMEONE THAT ONLY WANTED TO COME AND DO THEIR JOB. Footnote:I speak enough Spanish to know what basically was being said. Very basic but it was enough. Shame on this store for letting this continue to happen. Unknowingly I had an item left in my cart after checkout and security stopped me, regardless an honest accident, took charge With my cooperation or otherwise call the police. Had to pay a $75 fine to not have the police involved. I respect that as it is the job, but I will never shop here again. Obviously I fully cooperated, as I forgotten to put the product to on the belt. License, photo and paperwork . But accidents have consequences. I offered to pay, as I needed the product but security prevailed. Well done. Honest mistake on my part and they did what they needed to do. Wow! I was surprised by how clean and organized this Shop Rite turned out to be! They have the prepared foods right by the entrance and fresh produce on the left. You can definitely get in and out quickly. The only downside is you have to walk to the very end for self-checkout and the area between the cashiers can get tight when there is a crowd. read more

I happen to like shopping for groceries at shop rite, usually i goto the one in Whitestone Queens. Today i came to costco in Commack and so i noticed this huge store. As soon as i walked in, i went bu the Deli area which was busy so i browsed only. I noticed right at the entrance of the store the strong scent of fried chicken and it actually made me hungry. Too bad i had purchase rotisserie chickens from costco already. I walked the back near the bakery area and k found a cinnamon cake which look good and we picked that up for dessert tonight as we had family over. I couldn't find the pork chops with bone, so we went right over to the chicken section and i picked up box of chicken leg and thighs. Overall this is a nice store very clean and with a good selection of beef and chicken. Too bad i dont have one like near me. The best full blown supermarket around. The choices plenty & the food abounds. When you walk in there is a grill/deli area to your right which offers up good hot meals for a decent price. Keep walking straight and you can get a sandwich, a nice variety of hot Chinese Food, or maybe you want some fresh Sushi. A huge Deli counter and aisles & aisles of local & exotic fruits & vegetables. The fish selection gets better at holiday times like most supermarkets. For over 20 yrs, I've been shopping at the ShopRite in Bay Shore...purchasing fish, chicken, vegetables etc. with not one instance of spoiled food. Went to the Commack location recently and purchased salmon, cod and chicken. Returned salmon and cod the next day. I had already washed and froze part of it and cooked dinner with the rest -- the taste was disgusting -- couldn't eat it because it tasted like bleach. Then I opened the cod which smelled of rotted fish. I had also made the chicken which, after cooking, started to eat and it also had a funky taste so it was thrown out as well as the chicken that I froze. I was so close to calling the health dept. and will NEVER shop there again for ANYTHING based on this experience. I know the difference between fresh fish and poultry and this was spoiled AND knowingly sold by this privately owned market. Shame on you for bleaching spoiled fish so you can make a profit and not regulate, manage your meat and seafood correctly. read more

So I live in Bay Shore and I have always hated going to the shopRite there because it's so ghetto and run down and the people who work there are not helpful at all. This location in Commack as shown me that not all shoprites are this way! When I walked in I was very impressed with how clean and open it is. This is one of the better supermarkets in the Commack area. If the item you are looking for can be found in a supermarket, then it can most likely be found here. When I have needed to ask for assistance at the customer service desk, they have done a great job providing it. If there is an area for improvement, it is the fish market. On one occasion, I pointed to a specific piece of salmon I wanted , but was told "they are all the same." On my most recent visit, I purchased two half-pound strips of the salmon, and asked if they could be separated so that I could freeze them and then prepare them separately. Unfortunately, when I removed the package from the freezer, I found two pieces of salmon -- frozen together. After spending 10 minutes trying to chisel the salmon apart, I abandoned the effort and prepared the entire "iceberg of salmon" as one meal. read more

I thought ShopRite was all that when I first checked it out and now after shopping there weekly for a year I've completely changed my mind. Let me start with the customer service desk. Yesterday I went in to return some milk that was sour upon opening. The kid, he was probably 21ish, was slumped behind the customer service desk and when I approached him he was texting, (which I thought was fine considering there was nobody on the line if he wants to text whatever) however when I explained about the milk and he had to start "working" again he stayed on his phone. I actually couldn't believe my eyes, he took my shopper club card, set it down on the desk next to him and continued texting!!! I actually looked over the counter at him with eyes like, "You have GOT to be shitting me." Maybe he thought it was okay since I'm on the younger side too, but it wasn't! It's the holiday season and I have 8 zillion errands to run, I have no patience to sit and wait for him to text as I'm trying to process a return!! It didn't stop there, he kept texting. The entire return of $3 took triple the amount of time it should have because he was on his phone texting instead of scanning my item and processing the refund. After he took my shopper club card, he got back on his phone. It was actually unbelievable. Additionally, I came here the other night to do some shopping for the holidays and in the tomato sauce aisle, there was a cart in the middle and two employees were stocking the shelves. I politely said excuse me to try and get past the cart and neither employee moved or helped push the cart out of the way. I had to literally climb through the cart to get through the aisle and the employees could not be bothered. Sure, you're at ShopRite at 11 at night, there are places you'd rather be, but it was terrible customer service, terrible. Their produce is bad, I never buy produce here, their organic selection is highly overpriced for the quality. Highly. I really only come here now for their cold cuts because their deli counter runs pretty efficiently and their ice cream sales, because they are better than any other store I've found. I had their salmon the other night and it was very delicious so I'd recommend this place for their seafood counter also. read more

I have been using their Shoprite from home service FOR YEARS as I'm disabled and they were so great, until now. The past 4 times I used their service, they would ALWAYS, ALWAYS forget to give me a portion of my order while still charging me. I have get a ride as I am not able to drive myself. I love Greenfield's ShopRite. Having moved from Plainview and finding Commack has one too was a great surprise. The place is always clean and the food fresh. I love the hot food options, sushi, pizza and Chinese. This alone deserves a 5. I can't however, leave a 5 (as much as I want to) because of the staff. The cashiers and customer service employees are young as you find in many supermarkets but many of them are just plain rude. While waiting on line, (which I do every time because of this location's popularity) I shouldn't have to hear about what's going on that night, does Niasia have lotion? or talk about boys/girls they are interested in. It is extremely unprofessional to let customers know all their business in this way and the shouting from register to register in the front of the store is ridiculous. It happens nearly every single time I shop here and I am a once a week shopper. The employees' unprofessional behavior will not deter me from continuing to shop here as the food and location just can't be beat. Management needs to work on the behavior of their staff. read more

Groceries. I like Shop Rite and when I found this gigantic one I had to hit it up. Nice place to shop - this location has an extremely large latin section due to the proximity to a large latin neighborhood, which limited the Indian choices - but hey, when in Rome... Cheese selection was not that extensive BUT they had Double Goucester which I have been looking for all over the place- I know Fairway has it but it is pricey there. I scored me a nice wedge for under $5. Overall nicely laid out, easy to find what you were looking for. Prices were extremely good, particularly on sale items. Huge parking lot. read more

I was doing shopping pickup at Country Pointe Plainview during Covid 19. The area that they set off for pickup was becoming too crowded & there were customers not wearing masks picking up while I was in the room. Because of this & the problem of getting needed supplies, I gave SRCommack a try. They have a much larger area for pickup. I was very comfortable in their pickup area. Wow... I was skeptical at first reading all these positive reviews for a Shoprite! Coming from Jersey City our Shoprite was ran down and crowded and full of rude people but man this place is like a complete 180 turn around. Not only its huge and clean its also very well organized. Honestly if they didn't have the sign you would think you walked into a Whole Foods or Wegmans. Lots of selection because of size and plenty of hot food and deli choices. I'm not sure if its their yearly can-can sale but my visit the prices were lower than my usual visits to similar supermarkets. I had such a good time shopping here that even the cold and aloof checkout girl didn't seem to bother me much haha. I'm glad its located close to my new office will definitely be coming back here regularly for sure. Oh one note I think I see people mentioned already, when you get out its a looooong wait for the left turn light onto Crooked Hill Rd when I arrived around 7:30 on a weeknight. I think I saw sign posted as well but I believe you can make a left when exiting the parking lot to go around the other way to get on Crooked Hill Rd from Henry st. Shop Light SHOPRITE, 1st Store I SEE In Sight. I was in Commack on a Crooked Hill , Needed to get a few things still, on the way to pay a visit to my mom. I also needed to pick up a few things and a cake. I remember that there was a supermarket next to the Starbucks on Crooked Hill Rdand as It was earlier in the day parking was not a problem. This ShopRite is located in Dix Hills, an affluent Suffolk County Community located in Commack NY. As I entered the store I saw The Manager, he was, straightening shelves for the scores of Saturday shoppers, soon to surprise. The ShopRite was a large well lit supermarket stocked with anything you could want. The produce department was very large in both stocks variety of local and exotic fruits and vegetables. As I traveled from aisle to aisle it occurred to me that I could probably shop in this store for hours. As I did not have hours, I headed over to the pastry Department to have a cake decorated. The bakery area was larger than I thought taking up a large portion of the rear produce department. I ordered my cake ,it was professionally customized and packaged for me. I was not yelled out in here ,or looked at strangely for taking Yelp pictures. On the way out I decided to use their automatic check out. I'm usually conflicted about using this device, as I know it has cost many cashiers their jobs. But it least one cashier does have to personally attend the bank of 4 automated checkouts machines. When I reach my car my car the I looked up at the shop ShopRite and realized I could have MORE of a street presence sign is hidden by some trees ,even though it's a very large shopping complex with a Costco , The store is Easy to pass by. So if you're down Crooked Road and Shopping's in mind, there's a BIG store right here, Just don't pass it by. I was 10 years old, when grandma used to have me bike to ShopRite.. All RIGHT. So this is my second Shop Rite store that I absolutely love. The face that they locally owned and operated makes a difference. The Greenfield family takes pride in their store. Every Time I visit this store its clean. Very important in a place were I purchase food. But not only that the staff are friendly. You will not find the angry cashier at this store who will throw your items in the bag. No squashed bread or broken eggs for me. Nothing like a good old smile to make you spend more money. The sales are always good. I definitely will be back. I apologize for over looking Shop Rite for all of these years! I most admit the Can can commercials turned me off. Shop Rite as fresh food and way more than cans to offer. But if you need can goods go figure and if you don't donate to someone else. This is the season for giving!! read more

I shop here all the time. The hot food selection is pretty good- I crave their mac and cheese and eggplant parm. The sushi is pretty good too, for a supermarket. The produce is decent. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Today one of the cashier's opened up a register because she saw that I was waiting. Plus, you never really have to wait on long lines, even on the weekends, which is a huge bonus in my book. There is a good selection of products, although it can be a little pricey. The store is also clean and well organized. However, the parking lot also kind of sucks due to the proximity to Costco, so there is always congestion. I honestly wish there was a no star option. This is by far the worst store I've ever been in. I asked 3 employees what isle I could find drano or another brand of it like and no one knew so I found and asked the manager who also didn't know. After finding it on my own I walk to the ONLY (yes 1) register that was open to find the cashier and the customer in front of me having a full blown conversation about cryptocurrency and paying me no mind AFTER looking at me more than once. Went in here to just buy Milk... I wish I hadn't of eaten lunch already because I would have went nuts with their hot food buffet section! If you have ever been to an Uncle Guiseppe's or a Whole Foods, you know they have buffet style hot food you can take to go. Well this place has that too! They have a pizza section which actually looked really good, a chinese food station, and soup and salad station. All with to-go containers to take the food home. They also had sandwiches and wraps premade in containers for you to take. The pizza station had options like supreme pizza, sicilian, regular, mushroom pizza, veggie pizza, etc. The chinese food had a bunch of options like sesame chicken, fried rice, boneless spare ribs, lo mein, egg rolls and lots more including miso and egg drop soup. Also had regular soups like chicken noodle and clam chowder, as well as a large salad bar. Soups were around $3 for medium container, and around $6 for the chinese food which included 2 sides and either fried rice or lo mein. The food looked surprisingly decent, I think I will definitely try something from the to-go buffet stations next time I visit! read more

I ordered my groceries online and went to the store for pickup. I loved this much more than PeaPod, the only downside is it costs $10 for store pickup. Either way it sure beats dealing with that horrible parking lot, having to get a wagon, waking through the crowded store, etc. and no impulse buying!! Normally I am not the biggest fan of Shop Rite's. Though their prices are pretty low compared to some of their competitor's, the others I have been too have always felt too overcrowded with narrow aisle's. Now, I have never been here during a peak shopping day or time so I cannot speak to whether this store ever feels this way, but when I have stopped in to grab a quick lunch or snack it never has. This store is huge and has so many options!! Right away when you step in you are met with an awesome deli/café area where people are actually eating! I feel like in every other supermarket those little café areas are sad, tiny, and dusty little afterthoughts that you never see anyone but store employees eating at, but not here! On top of it, they had this awesome little muffin buffet area where you can grab a muffin quick in the morning and be on your way. Otherwise, great selection of produce and nuts, usually good sales. Never had to wait on too long a line here, but again I only came in around lunch. I wish I lived in the area I would definitely frequent more often. The downside the store is big, the parking lot is a hassle, and because it is right off the LIE in a bit of a mega store complex complete with a Costco, Starbucks, Walmart, Khols and Lowe's the getting there can be stressful, especially if you are just stopping in for something quick. read more

Clean store, best supermarket I can find in the Commack area in terms of selection and prices. Waldbaums is ok but I am not a fan of Stop and Shop or King Kullen. This store has a buffet with decent quality food. I get the Chinese buffet often and its not the best but its not bad for the price if you get the special (entree and 2 sides). The deli line is a little slow. It always seems like there is 8 people back there with only 3 helping customers. *** There are too many customers who use the entrance as an exit. Every register clearly has a sign that says where the exit is but it never fails that a line of people exiting the store will create a complete log jam at the entrance for those trying to get in with baskets. Please do not try to push your basket of purchased groceries thru a sea of people and out of the door that is clearly labeled entrance. If you go here on the weekend, i suggest going really early or later in the evening. The parking lot is no joy with the Costco located right next door. read more

My husband shops here on his lunch break to fill in the items we can't get at our local store. He is constantly getting ripped off because the bread prices are always mislabeled. Because he's packing he can't watch the cashier like a hawk. If you question them on prices they argue and say you must be wrong. Sounds like poor management. read more

False advertising / mislabeling. Saw an on sale sign in the frozen fish case at the Commack Shoprite. The fish sections were discounted from $10 to $5, limit of 4. I purchased 4, but when I left the store and checked the receipt, saw I was charged full price. After going back to verify the sign, I met with the store manager who said he would correct it. I feel that it is not my responsibility to make sure their sale prices are being registered properly. I wonder how many other customers didn't realize that they have been ripped off? The time and aggravation in having to check for correct pricing should not be the customer's. The store manager offered to comp one section. I feel that this is insufficient- each of the incorrect items should comped. As a long-time customer of Shoprite, if I have no confidence that their products are registering properly at checkout, I will be making my food purchases elsewhere. read more
