This store is fabulous!! Being close by is super convenient!! It's my go to for groceries and has so many pre made meal options available to buy. There is a salad bar where you pay by weight. The salad bar has things like lobster salad, shrimp salad, chicken salad, available in it. Lettuce, cheeses and dressings, but I'm making my own salads so I haven't gotten anything other than lobster salad (good), shrimp salad (meh). The fruits and vegetables in the store all look great. My homemade salads have been amazing! Picked up a rotisserie chicken, lettuce, cheese and dressing options for my many lunch options. There aren't many open cashiers in the evening but the wait is never too long (3 people deep at most). I can pick up my bottled water and sparkling waters and snacks here. I really tried with Shop Rite in Ewing, NJ. I haven't shopped at this location for 2 years. Well, today I placed an order online for delivery and of course the order was missing items and I was charged. There is no hope with this location, the staff is clueless and the managers are nonchalant about your money being taken without receiving the items. So, I will not be having anything delivered out of this store anymore. Before you give Uber or Door Dash customers groceries, you need to check to ensure that all the items are in the bag which is called accountability. This is just blatant incompetency because the people at that Shop Rite don't care. If you don't care about the customers then why should I shop in your store. Goodbye read more

Could not download the digital coupon for Northland Juice using kiosk in store. I searched through all products and searched by product name. Came back no results. Went to customer service. Lady was assisting me when Charles came and started asking questions. (There was another person at counter). Unbeknown to me, Charles inserted himself in my situation. He found coupon, I paid for purchase and was about to leave when I could not find my prescription shades. Went back in store to find them when I overheard Charles talking about me to customers and another store employee stating all I had to do was search by beverage. I informed Charles who was startled as he did no see me, whatever he had to say he could have said it to me when I was there not behind my back. I then requested a store manager to review footage to help me find my glasses. Store Manager retrieved my glasses from the behind the counter at Customer Service. So not only did I receive terrible customer service, I was talked about by Charles, and a store employee hid my glasses whileI stayed in the store for over 15 minutes awaiting for the Manager to review video footage in order to locate my glasses. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They do not carry a lot variety for items that can be found at ShopRite on Route 33, Bordentown, Route 1 or Route 130. The only saving grace was the Manager who helped me find my glasses. read more

I forgot an item and the cashier graciously let go grab it which I appreciated because making another line would have been a nightmare. As everyone began to eat their cake slice they all stated it smelled like bleach, the first bite everyone was sick. Well, I mean, it's a grocery store, but it's also so close to where I live. I feel no matter what time of day or day of the week I venture out here, there are always tons of people here. At least parking is plentiful and I highly recommend parking in the back because people can get kind of smashy with their grocery carts that they leave randomly strewn about the lot. This store has always been clean when we visited. Products are usually in stock. Good selections from the bakery, too. Checkout is quick most of the time because they tend to have enough cashiers on duty. They've done a good job dealing with the pandemic and have maintained their usual level of service in the recent months. Not perfect, but overall a good store. read more

First of all, Brianna (in the Shop from Home department) is wonderful! She is the reason I keep shopping at this store. In other news ... I was at the store this morning (4/2/21), and the customer in front of me was having a difficult time with a credit card. The cashier was new (amidst her apologizing, she mentioned it was only her 3rd day on the job), and having a difficult time. She called to someone in the Shop from Home Department, as her phone call (I assume to the customer service desk) had gone unanswered. And here comes Karen, the CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER. Karen proceeds to call-out the new cashier ... don't call there, she's busy, you can't do that ... etc. etc. Cashier is trying to explain the problem she's having. Karen continues to tell the cashier that "she (Karen) is supposed to be upstairs, not even supposed to be down here". The problem is finally solved, however, Karen, there are a couple of issues that I, as a customer, have with your behavior: First, you never never NEVER call out one of your employees IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, unless you are prepared to also apologize to that employee IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS for embarrassing them. Poor form as a MANAGER, Karen. Also, as a MANAGER, Karen, when your store is busy, or there is a shortage of cashiers, or ONE OF YOUR NEWEST CASHIERS IS HAVING A PROBLEM, aren't you, as the MANAGER, supposed to step in, and get the store/checkout lanes back on track? Or is your job to "be upstairs" and not be bothered with problems? Gotta tell you, Karen, as the CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, I would think you'd make it a point to roam around your store once or twice a day. Had the worst experience ever during this COVID-19 pandemic that is creating craze panicked people that are in fear for the little lives they have. Was met with a rude white lady alleging to be a part of the law enforcement (note, no uniform or badge to suggest this) just her claim to which she was positioned in the front reception monitoring people to ascertain if they're wearing their mandated mask etc.. She is the one with the spray & paper towel in the front but yet is from "law enforcement". Because I did not have my mask when I entered but did have a scarf that was visible yet not wrapped around my mouth, as I am walking passed her she utters you need to have your mask on or tie your scarf around or you'll get thrown out. So in the interim, was already trying to wrap the scarf over my mouth until she said the thrown out comment so as the scarf is over my mouth I said thrown out, but I have my scarf on. So she walked over from her area, no longer monitoring passerby's just to argue with me and appeared like she wanted to throw down, then another worker black young girl with jacked up boxed braids exacerbate the issue by meddling I was like where did she come from and did this COVID-19 issue really bring out the nuts in people. Then she comments that I was moving too slow to place the scarf over my mouth, well lady I did have my shoulder purse also entangled but still wrapped it. Here I am, the customer and yet they are behaving like this.. These people are abusing their power while working at Shoprite (read in between the lines and I'll let that marinate) so I said you want me to leave she said you can leave (the white lady kept shouting this and while pointing her finger to the exit) so I tossed the basket and bounced.. Life is too short to be arguing over a trivial manner. In my youth, I worked at the downtown Shoprite in Jersey City as well as the A & P also located downtown in JC and never treated a customer poorly and here I was 17 at the time with sense and respect. There are other grocery stores in the area with workers that are not meth heads so no worries. And I called this Shoprite location to issue a complaint with the manager "David Rosenhouse" who was nonchalant and claimed he didn't know of those two employees (yeah right) I was speaking of so now will escalate the issue to corporate. read more

Horrible! This is the first time I have ever posted a review about anything but I have to say this begs comments. Ordered online for a delivery that was to have happened 9/5 between 1-2pm but at 12:27pm I received an email advising my debit card declined the transaction. Of course it was declined...Shoprite used the wrong card. I tried to rectify the problem but the geniuses at the Ewing store made the same error a total of three times. Bad enough they blew my delivery time, they also made me incur a debit card declination charge all three times. When I spoke to "one of the best people" per the delivery manager, I was told to bring the information into the store and they would help me get credits on the declined transactions. Great! I'm sitting here with a broken hip...I can't get anywhere, if I could, I wouldn't have asked for delivery. I hate that store! read more

It's a supermarket so don't expect great service or to find high end products. But over the years, I can see some improvement. More and more I can find organic products and of better quality. You can now find vegan products, which is a huge improvement as I had to go to NYC to shop for certain things. Prices vary from very good deals, to what are they thinking? But convenience makes people buy at any price. From one week to the other prices change constantly and you must pay attention to what's on sale this week. The pharmacist are nice and knowledgeable and usually meds are cheaper here, but once again, check the price before the buy. With the shoprite card, you can save quite a lot over a year, but be aware that not all products have discounts and that you need to look at the promotion dates to make sure you get a good deal. Overall it's a lot of work to shop cheap, but it's doable. read more

If I could give a -10* I would . They are constantly changing prices example . In their case was chicken sausage half priced at 4.99 the others 3.99 . Asked the difference and was told that's how they came in . That is 1 of 8 different items within a 10 day period . I have had to bring back milk products that were well within before expire date that were sour 3 times . Their produce is generally ok but when you want to purchase but on the whole poorest grade of crap that I have ever come across . I prefer not to get into specifics if you eat more than just carrots or onions you'll be greatly disgusted and disappointed . If you have transportation pass this place up . read more

I just used the shop online service and might try again, but if my order is not complete the next time; forget it. I injured my knee and was out of work for a couple of days and wanted to pick out exactly what I wanted so I did not want to send my husband in because he would have been lost. The store employee brought the stuff out to the car and it was great, but when I got home I was missing a tomato, onion, cherries, one egg out of my carton and no guacamole. I called the store and they told me to come back. I came back and went inside(which I was trying to avoid), and they gave me the tomato, onion, cherries and replaced the eggs. They told me I didn't get the guacamole because they were out, but I has said I would accept a substitute. The woman went and got me the guacamole. I think I should have got the 10% refunded since I had to drive back and go inside. This is a service that you pay extra for, but if it ends up being inconvenient, why pay for it. read more

If this ShopRite gets voted Best Grocery Store for years, their competition must be located in Beirut circa 1985. 0_o If saving money is your priority, this is your Shop Rite. But it will cost you in other areas. You decide if it's worth it. It's beyond crowded. All the time. The parking lot is a free-for-all rodeo. And the staff is cold and rough, at best. If you can handle the crowds, the unfriendly staff, and the parking lot, you'll do fine. I can't handle those things, so consider my opinion biased. The food is fresh, the selections expansive, and the prices are not bad. But oye. If you're angry, rude, intolerant, and a generally grumpy person, get a job at this Shop Rite, you'll fit right in. Keep in mind that grocery shopping etiquette is frowned upon at this ShopRite. The more aggressive you are - the better. And feel free to stand in any aisle and talk on your cell phone - loudly, just make sure you block any viable means of passage for as long as you please. (I realize this scenario is played out in grocery stores all over America, but it's taken to a whole new level at this ShopRite.) Best shopping times are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Avoid the Olden Avenue entrance/exit. Try using the entrance/exit on Parkside, as it usually less crowded. I recommend the Bakery Department and the meat/seafood department. I've never been in the Louvre, but I almost went in once. I walked around it and looked at it. It scared me: How could I possibly conduct a meaningful visit, when there is so much to see and appreciate and my tiny mind has only so much space? Wouldn't it be worse to have a bad Louvre visit than not to visit the Louvre at all? Apply that riddle to the Shop Rite of Ewing, a MASSIVE grocery store with WAY TOO MUCH to take in during a visit or ten. Many times, when I leave the SR of E, I think hmm...isn't there another way to get a hold of these few grocery items without being bombarded by sign after sign after bloody sign, and TV after TV after cheery pubic address, and without walking around display after display of shit I don't need now, or ever??? Yes, this store has a very impressive collection of items for sale--usual and unusual produce, extensive deli, tons of meat, big selection of iced seafood, tons of chips, tons of cereal, all kinds of so-called "international" foods, a bakery, a Dunkin', a pharmacy, tons of housewares, and an ever-rotating, expansive set of "seasonal" offerings...but HOLY LORD CAN I JUST GET MY THINGS AND GET OUT OF HERE?? NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE!!! I have gotten two year old passed the printed use by date on a bottle of oil and they were not going to return till I show them the receipt that I just got in the day before!! I was spending of $3000 a month at that store. Till my baby got sick from frozen food that was left out or returned then they refrozen it. I have seen them do this as well after it happen to my family.
