They compensated us for the bad experience and stress caused. Their service in booking the 2 City Wonders tours in Rome was excellent and the tours were great. Getting charged $25 expedite fee to use promised $50 credit since they say I'm booking less than 3 days before sailing. Expedite what? It's online and instantaneous. Also I book 5 cabins and was promised $50 per cabin credit but only received one credit. Total baloney. Great tour of Dubai for 1st timers. Our guide was great, very informative. He explained a lot about UAE and Dubai in general. We went to the old town first and to the gold and spices souks. Then we went to the Palm Island residential area and other points of interest, then to the Dubai Mall which is huge. The only negative was that the pickup point from the ship was not very clear as the instructions said to go to the main gate to the port which is about 5 Klm. from the cruise ship terminal. We took a Belize City & Rum Factory excursion when our Carnival cruise ported in Belize two weeks ago. Originally, we were a little hesitant to book an excursion not from the cruise line, but the price was excellent and the tour suited our needs for the day so we decided to go for it. We needn't have worried. When we checked in with Way To Go tours, we met our tour guide, Percy, who was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Belize seems to be a very poor country, yet Percy and his tour guide in training, Shaquille, kept the sights we were seeing from being depressing. We learned a lot and the Rum Factory stop was a lot of fun. Kids wouldn't have enjoyed it much, but all the adults seemed to have enjoyed it as much as we did, and we were very glad we'd gone. The only negative thing I would say is that the van we were in was supposed to fit 14 people and even though 2 people didn't show up for the tour, it was an extremely tight fit. Add to that, it was an older van that didn't have a running board and there was no step stool (Percy said there had been one, but someone must've borrowed it and not put it back), so getting in and out of the van was difficult, especially for short people, seniors, or those with bad knees. read more

A day or two after I replied to her message, she called me to apologize for what happened and to tell me that she was going to credit my card for the full amount for all four tickets. I am happy that they were responsive to my Yelp review. And of course I am happy to have received a refund. I believed Diane when she said she wants their customers to be satisfied with their services. Booked 2 shore excursions in Havana. We were in port for 36 hours. First day we booked the walking tour which was informative thru old Havana and went to a lical restaurant for a cuban cuisine included drink, entree, coffee and desert. 2nd day we did the classic car tour ride thru the city then went thru neighborhoods then to a park with a lake then to the famous National Hotel for a mojito. Both tours were amazing tours worth the money amd the top of the line professoonal guides were friendly, professional and knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. I booked an excursion with this company. While on my cruise, I noticed that the meeting time was before our ship even docked at the port. I called the number provided, and explained my concerns with this. They called back stating that they spoke with the local operators of the excursion and they were aware of our itinerary change and to just show up when we got there. This still concerned me that we were not given a new meeting time, and were just supposed to show up when we got there. Our ship did not let us off of the boat until 10:10 local time and it took us 20 minutes to get out of the terminal. When we met the guides, they told us we were late and the group left without us. I informed them that there is no way we could be late, as we were told to show up when we got there. There were 7 other cruise ships in that port, so the people who were "on time" clearly got off their ship before we did. Fifteen minutes after they told us we could not go on the excursion, they came to find us in the market center and said they would take us anyways. Our tour guide, Ramon, did a great job try to salvage our experience. The package we purchased said that lunch was included. The tour guide told us at the start of our excursion that lunch was included. When we got to the resort, we had to purchase our lunch. When I got back, I contacted the Shore Excursions Group, and informed them that we had to pay for lunch even though what we purchased was supposed to include it. The person that helped me, read the description of the excursion, then said out loud to me...yes, I see here where it says lunch should have been included. He asked what sort of compensation I was looking for. I told him I just wanted the price of lunch to be refunded since it should have been included. That same person has just emailed me a week later stating that the excursion does not say that it includes lunch, yet last week he stated that it did. It is incredibly irritating to know what was supposed to be included, the guide knowing it was supposed to be included, and even the Shore Excursion Rep that I spoke to confirming that it should have been included, to now stating that it wasn't included and our being late to the excursion was somehow our fault. read more

Booked tours through Shore Excursions Group for Antigua and Barbados. A medical issue forced me to cancel my entire trip. Everyone from Princess Cruises, Booking.Com and Viator Tours was wonderful in cancelling these plans with refunds. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Shore Excursions Group who would not refund these tours. I travel quite often and will never book through Shore Excursions Group again!!! read more

We have used Costco Shore Excursions several times with success, until Costa Rica. Our cruise was Feb 16, 2018 NCL Panama Canal from Miami. I can't detail review on their website because of the 1K max length. Two of us were interested in the Zip Line and two were concerned over the warnings on the description. It was decided that two would take the $124 Amazing Wildlife tour and the others would take the Coffee Plantation tour. Once on our assigned bus, our guide went over the schedule and when we questioned "when was the zip lining?" We were assured we were on the right bus, but the only two on the bus doing the zip line. Not to worry. hmmmm. The description for the tour said: First to see the crocs, foliage, birds. then canopy tour. Lunch. ...."Pregnant women, people with back/neck problems, those who have had recently or need arm/hand surgery, guests prone to motion sickness, with a fear of heights, and those with respiratory problems should not participate in this tour". Our tour pkg writeup had a picture of a lush green forest and a beautiful catwalk in the mist. We never saw that location or green forest. What we did see: roadside fruit stand, little property with lots of monkeys, boats for bird and huge crocs, lunch. It was explained to us that after lunch the bus would leave us there and come back after taking the rest of the group to the top of a lookout for a view. We were added to a group of 4 others when they arrived (also from our ship) to do the zip. After we finished the last platform ( I can't remember how many...8?) and dropped our gear (about an hour later) the bus returned for us. It seems they were up looking at the view someplace and shopping? We were then taken to a very nice store for lack of a better word, full of beautiful crafts from the area and a typical tiny grocery market in town. Nice day. All I can say is we didn't see what we expected. It was the dry season. Very short and not so great zipping. Why couldn't the other two in our group do this tour with us? They heeded the warning and went on a different tour. There was no reason a pregnant woman couldn't do it, and just not zip. SEG immediately sent me several reminders to write a review when we got home. How could I when I didn't know what tour I was actually on? That said, I contacted the company upon returning to find out if we were on the right tour. The $89 Best of Costa Rica tour says: informative and cultural tour. trying local bites, wildlife, shopping... First Private wildlife area with monkeys, then fruit towns, then the boat to see crocodiles and birds. Then lunch and shopping. This is the tour I think we were put on and left to do the zip because something went wrong. I called SEG and at first they sort of inferred a partial refund if there was a problem and would look into it. I never heard back. After several more calls to the excursion company (they left a message at a totally weird number) I was told that we were on the right tour and that the website info was out of date. Nothing done. That is just wrong. How many others will be disappointed? It was a good tour, but misleading.... and the cost difference? Now I am wondering....was the zip experience worth an extra $35? Did the others pay the same as we did, or did we pay more? The saddest part was that the four of us could have stayed together all day, but in reality I think the others had a more memorable experience seeing what most of us expect to see in CR and they did have a nice time, even though they don't drink coffee. :} When researching SEG excursions in Costa Rica, the 3 I refer to are not listed, so I have no idea where my mini review to the tour went. My wife and I booked a Snorkle and Lunch excursion in Cozumel last week, fantastic exactly what we wanted. Our RCL ship docked at the International Pier and we took a stroll along the beachfront sidewalk (less than a half mile) to the Sunset Beach Bar and Grille. We were a bit early but the hostess met us with open arms and friendly smiles, she introduced us to our snorkle guide, Izzy. Not only was Izzy an expert dive instructor for a couple of novices he understood the very essence of making us feel welcomed and at ease. The premises was very clean and well maintained with a large clean restroom and shower area. We rented a keyed locker, stored our street clothes and began our snorkel lesson. Izzy was very helpful insuring our equipment was properly worn and comfortable, he even helped my wife with her brand new mask and tube. We entered the water down a few steps from the facility and proceeded to explore the amazing underwater sights and native fishes just yards from the shoreline. They took our photo as we started out in the water, which came out great with our ship in the background. The photo was $10 extra but worth it, we were never pressured to buy, and it was a great souvenir. While we were novice snorklers, the facility had the full compliment of snuba equipment as well as scuba tanks. If you're looking for simple and low key water experinces with quality friendly people check it out. Next we had an excellent and large lunch including a drink. The pre meal chips and dip were tasty but watch out for the Mucho Caliente option to regular salsa! We had hot sizzling plates of fajitas with sides and tortillas and enjoyed our table on the open deck above the water while we watched others take their turns in the with Izzy and a large staff of instructors. This was our first cruise and Shore Excursions was recommended by our Travel Agent. We could not have had a better experience with this vendor. A no stress excursion, we just walked thru the cruise retail shops and down the road to a lovely snorkle and lunch experience at the Sunset Beach. The short walk felt comfortable and safe and I'm pretty sure our luncheon experience was a more real fun and an authentic Mexican experience than the packed crowds at Senior Frogs were having as we passed by on our way back to our ship. My husband and I booked an excursion with shore excursions, not carnival like we should have. When we arrived at the port in Cozumel we showed two different tour guides our paper work and itinerary and they both told us that it would not be in our best interest to do this excursion. They said there was an extremely high chance that we would miss the boat due to the fact we had to find a taxi (20 minutes), get on a ferry to the main land (1 hour) then get on a bus ride (2 hours) they said there is no way we would make it back in time. We listened and did not go. I do not feel that it is right for Shore excursions to advertise to people on cruises when it isn't possible for you to attend the actual excursion. I contacted the company the first man I talked to was extremely rude and not helpful. I then asked to be contacted by the supervisor and didn't hear from him till 4 days later after my claim. The supervisor basically told me it was my fault for booking with Shore Excursions. I will NEVER use this company again. read more

My family took the popular Dolphin Encounter & Exclusive Island tour in the Bahamas, and we loved it! It was so amazing to see and touch the dolphins. The tour provided the lockers, and it was on the private island. I'm so glad we booked this tour, the one at the port was different and much pricier. We all loved it! We went on a cruise through the Mediterranean - started in Rome, Pisa/Florence, Cannes, Majorca, Barcelona and then Naples. We purchased 4 tours and were extremely disappointed with 3 of the 4. Pisa - "Pisa at your Leisure"- literally a bus dropped us off in a parking lot and said we will be back at 1 to pick you up. We were given no directions or instructions of any kind. We were lucky enough to be surrounded by some people who had an idea of how to get to the Leaning Tower and after about a 10 minute walk found our way there. Then when we arrived back to the parking lot early, we were told we could not get on an earlier bus (even though others did). Cannes- "Monte Carlo, Monacco & Eze" - this included a stop at the perfume factory there which was one of the few highlights of the trip. I quite enjoyed the stops however, our tour guide was on her phone almost the entire time talking about how she had "saved someone's life". This is not to take away from this....but we basically did not get a tour. Barcelona - "Cava wine and Barcelona by Night"- the tour "meeting point" was completely wrong and we couldn't go to Barcelona by night because it was too late (which was not noted on the information portion). WE Barcelona was very nice but we were not able to do any tour because of this. Naples- "Pompeii"- this was the best tour by far and I would recommend to others. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Overall, I would probably just recommend booking excursions through the cruise ship or when you get to the place with the companies that are lined up waiting to take your money! read more

Booked a catamaran/snorkel excursion in Bermuda and they took the booking and my $ and then 2 days letter sent me a form e-mail stating the excursion was unavailable and they would refund my $. Claimed nothing else available but tried to bait & switch me into another land-based boring excursion. Now scrambling to find something else but not with them and have to pay more $ through cruise line. Never believe what you read from this company and do not use them. I know I will not. We took a Shore Excursion tour in Skagway while on a cruise. It was the Hike, Float and Summit tour. Our tour guide, Josette was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and utterly enthusiastic about her job. I would highly recommend this tour over the ones available from the cruise lines especially if you get Josette as your guide. read more

Terrible company. Don't book w/this group. We booked an excursion in Pompeii. The quality of the headsets was poor and the guide had a thick accent, so it was very difficult to understand what she was saying. They also didn't give us the bottle of water that was included in the tour, and the driver didn't show up on time. We waited 30 minutes and it was clear that the company was scrambling, although they said there was "no problem." All the other tours from this company had already left. Upon returning home and complaining, they gave me a 15% refund, only a token consolation for such a terrible tour. I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN. 5 days after posting my review on Yelp, Shore Excursions Group called me to offer me a full refund and to apologize for my bad experience. While I appreciate the full refund, I gave them a chance to "do the right thing" before posting the bad review. I would have had more respect for Shore Excursions Group if they had apologized for the bad local tour company that they used and compensated me completely from the beginning of my complaint. I feel that they are only giving me the full refund because of the bad review. I am happy that I got my money back, but I am hesitant to book another excursion with this company. read more

I would NOT recommend this ATV tour in St Martin given safety concerns. I took this tour with a group of family members - the entire group size was closer to 20+. I have experience on ATVs and my machine had to be swapped out before we even hit the road because it kept turning off. The guides led the tour at unsafe high speeds and were poor examples of safety, often riding on two wheels. Once the tour began and we were guided onto a very uneven dirt road, a couple in my group got into an accident; they decided to continue on the tour after being repositioned closer to the guides in the pack. Once we reached the French side of the islands the guides instructed us that we needed to go faster, accelerating up to speeds of 50mph. The same couple hit a bump in the road at this high speed and ran into the roadside trees, flipping the ATV and suffering injuries. After deciding not to continue on the tour we waited nearly 30 minutes for alternate transportation to reach us. The driver (equipment provider) assured us the first stop would be for ice for the wounds but never stopped until we reached the Bubbles office. There we were pressured into paying $500 out of pocket for damages to the ATV though no insurance assessment had been received. I am not confidence in the safety of their ATVs nor their guides. I strongly advise against taking this tour. read more

RIP OFF!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Buyer Beware!! We booked a 3-port package through Vacations to Go (Cozumel, Jamaica and Grand Cayman Island . We did not know we were booking through Shore Excursions Group. They took our money then let us know our first tour would be leaving 2 hours later than planned! Then we found out the third excursion on our trip was entirely cancelled!. I called and was informed we would lose our money if we cancelled the remaining two trips because it was now 14 days before the tours. Then I was told (like they were doing me a favor) they would reimburse me for the completely cancelled tour to Grand Cayman. Therefore it appears THEY can cancel parts of a package tour but the customer cannot. You just have take what they do or do not give you. Since I found out the excursion is really through Shore Excursion Group I have done some research and it appears they have many dissatisfied customers. AVOID this company and avoid Vacations to GO. read more

We went to St Maarten on a cruise and I wanted to visit the Bird Park and the Butterfly Farm. Our cruise only offered a trip which included the Butterfly Farm. So, the choice was "book this tour" or rely on cabs. We booked the tour. The driver was right on time. The car was actually filled with people who had booked various tours, and the driver was more like "a chauffeur". This wasn't a tour of the island, but he did point out "areas of interest" as we dropped off and picked up people. The Bird Park was wonderful. The owner gives you a guided tour. Each person gets a bird feeder and the birds perch and feed right from you hand. The Butterfly farm is also not to be missed. We got an in depth tour and learned how to get the butterflies to land on us. The last stop was a cheese store. I'm not a cheese eater, but there was a talk about types of dutch cheese that was interesting. We also got samples. And we concluded with local made ice cream This tour is highly recommended for any nature lover as well as others who want to do something different. read more

Costco should delist it from its Travel site. Their product doesn't provide accurate information that is only available on e-ticket that arrives three days after booking. I have taken many shore excursions before. But this is the first time it asks passengers to hire a taxi on their own to cover the local transportation between port and pick-up location. I would not book through this group!!! We booked three excursions through this group two of them were perfect but we paid for one we did not receive. We did not get to participate in the tour because our ticket stated 9am and the time was updated to 830am - which was before we could even make it due to ship docking time. We could not reschedule for later because of a second excursion and we have been unable to get a refund even tried to dispute the credit card transaction, but we were told it is indisputable because Shore Excursion is a third party handler. We are out $500 for an activity we did not get, if we had booked through the ship it would have cost about $40 more - but we would have received what we paid for. read more

I booked 8 excursions with Shore Excursion Group. The majority were good, some were OK and one was terrible. The worst excursion was one where the main attraction was closed. The secondary attraction was far from what was promised (we had to pay for entry to a "premier" beach which was a piece of sand crammed with sun beds which we also had to pay for). The third attraction was replaced with a visit to a tacky tourist rip off shop. $100 for a 90 minute drive in a bus... After complaining, Shore Excursions Group amended their website and then claimed that we had been informed of the additional costs prior to the tour. I don't see the point in paying a premium on top of booking direct with tour providers and then being left high and dry when things aren't as promised. I will book direct in future, shore excursions group offer no customer service when things go wrong. The most unpleasant aspect was their underhand tactics of changing the tour description on their website after the fact. Very dishonest practices. read more

Be aware that if your ship will be leaving Cabo San Lucas in the afternoon, as does the Princess Ruby, you will not make the ship's departure time! Since we had booked our cruise through Costco, it seemed to make sense to book the dolphin encounter excursion through Costco also, however the information provided by the company to Costco was not accurate. After waiting at 7am for 45 minutes, the tour bus finally arrived, with the help of a local man translating our problem by phone to the business owner, and after we called Costco to remind them we were waiting for our ride. After asking the driver specifically, he informed us that, not only did he have to pick up 2 more parties, but the Cabo San Jose marina from which the dolphin encounter takes place is an hour away from Cabo San Lucas, and we will not be getting back to the dock to get the last tender to the ship and would miss our ships' departure at 1pm. The driver spoke to the owner while we wasted even more time and we were told that if we wanted to leave early, we would have to get a taxi, at our own expense and might still miss the tender. We, thus, were not able to take the excursion. After contacting Costco, we did get a refund, but our grandchild, who had been talking about seeing dolphins for nearly two months, was unable to have her dream come true, which, of course, broke our hearts. If you have time to spare, it may be a worthy excursion, however, the Cabo dolphin adventure, which was completely booked when we tried to do that instead, is just on the dock from the tender, easily accessible, and looks to be a fun and stress free experience. read more

I booked a few excursions through them. The first one was okay but nothing special. The next one had a guide that spoke very little English, the only perk was the wifi on the bus. The next one, was pretty good but the bus was hot and if we had been any later we would have missed the ship. Lastly, my ship skipped a port due to weather and I called SEG to cancel it as soon as they told us it was being skipped. They got me squared away. They do offer a guarantee for if you miss your ship and they also cap groups off at 15. I think that alone is huge value for their excursions vs the boat. We can stop at more places and I think I overall had better excursions than my cruise friends who took the ship excursions, even to the same places! read more

I booked 4 excursions from them on a recent cruise. Results were mixed. Two of the 4 excursions were very good, one was good once I found the guide (not easy in a crowded port). One of the excursions was a disaster. The disaster was called "Koper & Izola Biking Tour" in Slovenia. They sent a 22 year old guide who didn't know where he was going and got lost. They provided ill fitting bikes and took us on a 42Km ride over rough terrain and in dangerous city traffic. One of the riders crashed 3 times and nearly ended up in the hospital. No chase vehicle was available to take the injured rider back to ship. The very good excursions were called: "Kotor 3 in 1 - Boat, Kayak and Cycle" in Kotor, Montenegro. Pretty much what the title says. A boat ride to an island, then paddling around the bay on sea kayaks for as long as you want. When done with the Kayaks, they provide bikes to ride 5km back into town. The road is level with some traffic but not too bad. This tour provided a map to the starting place which made it easy, otherwise finding it would have been very hard. "Hop-On Hop-Off Rome Bus Tour" in Rome Italy. Pretty much as described. I had to hunt around for about 20 minutes to find the tour guide but after that it went well. The good one was called "Best of Dubrovnik" in Croatia. It was pretty basic. A bus ride up a mountain to give panoramic photo opportunities. Then a walking tour around the old town. The problem was the staring point was some distance from the dock with very poor instructions on finding it. A map would have helped. I had to call the number on the ticket to get instructions on finding the bus. The bottom line is yes they are legit. But you should do your research and expect to get what you pay for. read more

BERLIN June 8th It was a long day but half was a 3 hour bus ride there and 3 hours back and then a 4-5 hour tour of Berlin. Our tour guide was excellent, very informative and provided us with lots of information and answered all our questions. The day went quick and was enjoyable. A couple negatives were we were under the impression that groups would be 15-30 max. but there was 41 in our group, it gets hard to hear your guide when your trying to stay in a small area. For lunch we were dropped off at a mall and would have preferred to spend that hour at a cafe in downtown to get the feel of Berlin life. read more

THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! the first excursion was to "Exclusive Montego Bay Sandals Resort Day Pass". First of the ride that we suppose to have was NOT there, so we were told to take a taxi that we had to pay additionally for, then we get to the resort. They would NOT let us on the property saying they did NOT HAVE RECORD of our pass. The guard at the Montego Bay Sandals said to go to the Sandals Royal Caribbean. The taxi took us to other property and same story! I had the copy of the confirmation to show them but still did not believe us. After an hour or so of talking to guards and management, our day was ruined!!! We get back to the boat at the excursions desk to be told they could not help us to call Shore Excursions Group. So when we get back home to US, I call company explain what happened, they told me they would call Montego Bay Sandals Resort to find out what happened. After several phone conversions their conclusion was that "because we took the taxi to the resort, they would refund us 20% of our money to that excursion" . That does not even cover the taxi fair!!! They never did explain to me why both Resorts did not have record of us. We paid $198.40 for 2 of us. BTW we were traveling with another couple that booked with same Shore Excursions Group company. They did leave the boat before us. They had the exact same situation happened to them!! read more

Do not trust anything this company promises when you book. They do not honor any of it and their representatives are rude, unprofessional after you paid for the tours. We booked 4 days excursion package with this company (due to its relationship with Costco Travel). My family had problems with the tours itself and the bigger problems came when I contacted the Shore Excursion Group after we came back from our trip. We came to learn that this company has horrible customer service, it made empty promises such as " if you are not completely satisfied, we will give you a full refund." which is a complete lie. They do not return phone calls, refused to transfer calls to supervisor; the representatives, especially Kathy, was completely unprofessional. Even the supervisors give less than average customer service. The tour guide at Tallin Estonia just left us in the middle to town without any map or advise on how to get back to the ship. The tour guide in St Petersburg was rude, oblivious to the need of the group, left 4 of us outside a crowded palace in Russian. Horrible experience. read more
