I'm posting this as a warning to anyone considering Ocean Heart Group for cardiology care. My…read morehusband was a long-time patient, and what we experienced was not just poor service--it involved serious lapses in medical judgment and patient safety. After years as a patient, my husband requested a coronary artery calcium (CAC) test (common routine screening for many people we know). Is test results returned a calcium score of 1706. For perspective any score over 400 is considered high and indicates extensive plaque and high risk of cardiac events). It's outrageous Dr. Komorowski hadn't ordered this test for him sooner - ( we were encouraged by friends) then told him this was "normal for his age" and basically not to worry. He ordered a stress test, but no meds, no diet advice, no urgency. When we shared the score with our friends as well as with Dr komorowski said they immediately reacted with shock and frankly horror. They encouraged us to get a second opinion elsewhere. That cardiologist took one look and said he was in the 93rd percentile for risk--no way is 1706 normal or even acceptable at any age. Immediately started plaque-stabilizing meds, strict diet changes, and more tests to prevent plaque rupture/heart attack. The contrast was shocking. In 2025 this practice performed three procedures in 4 months on my husband for the same Veinous blockage. Our new cardiologist informed us - that type of procedure should only be done by a vascular surgeon. After hearing this, we sought the opinion of a vascular surgeon regarding the vein blockage. The vascular surgeon completely disagreed with the course of treatment of ocean heart group undertook for the blockage and said my husband was lucky he didn't lose his leg. Literally. Just today we informed our primary care physician of the switch we made to a new cardiologist. The staff worker (not the doctor) said she was not surprised and shared she's heard nothing but complaints about ocean heart group for the last 5 years. They had a stellar reputation at one point, which I suppose they're still riding on- but they have consistently gone down in level of service since that time. She shared she herself was a former patient and switched about 3 years ago. There's so much more I can say regarding the treatment and quality of care my husband has received since June of 2025, unreturned phone calls, lack of follow-up on tests, lack of communication and inability to communicate. For specialist they run the office like it's the 1980s. The only way to communicate is via phone they have a horrible service. There's no patient portal there's no MyChart there's no transparency with reviewing your test results. They never call with results and when you follow up + their answer is: if you don't hear from us there's no issue we only call if there's a problem. Well that's not reassuring. They certainly didn't call when my husband had a calcium score of 1706. They certainly didn't call when after his second surgery. I called hysterical because he was in such extreme pain. I made multiple calls to the practice finally got a return call from a nurse not even the doctor. It's pretty outrageous that a doctor wouldn't follow up with a patient the day after a surgery especially when messages were left about the pain he was suffering. Looking back on it I don't know why my husband stuck with the practice for so long. He's been a patient a long time but this calcium score thing was the final straw. There's so many high quality cardiologists out there you really don't need to waste your time with the practice that is stuck in the past and doesn't have the technology or the follow-up to really put patient care first.

They billed from their NY location so that it was out of state and out of network for our insurance. My insurance cut a check for what was remaining to me and i forwarded it to the billing location in NY, this was in December of 2021, its now September of 2022 and i get a random bill for $218.46 from Them for the same dates. My insurance is looking into adjusting and covering their bill since it was in Reference to covid. This is ridiculous billing almost a year later! They are a scam, we will never go to another chai care/BP Immediate care ever again. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

Please avoid this urgent care at all costs. As a healthcare worker who required a last minute…read morerapid COVID-19 test, I'm not sure what possessed me to make an appointment at this place. I was in and out in five minutes with a nasal swab completed by an MA. I didn't see a physician or a midlevel provider at any point. To my surprise, I was billed $1,025 for this simple rapid covid test. When I examined the claim submitted to my insurance, I determined that I was charged twice for a new patient office visit. I'm laughing because not a single clinician examined me at any point nor was any proper new patient paper work or a new patient history collected from me by the MA or clinician. This place is fraudulent with their billing practices. They need to be closed down for unethical practices. It is downright unethical to charge people for services not rendered. I've attached photographic evidence of the fraudulent charges they submitted to my insurance company:
