We booked the private sunset cruise from 7-9 and were booked on the boat, Sassy. My sister lives on one of the lagoons in Ocean City and sees the boats going by her house daily. Since we knew her lagoon was a part of the route, she called about two hours before our departure to see if we could have our pickup be at her house rather than Somers Point. Captain Greg was super accommodating and was happy to come pick us up from her dock. He arrived a few minutes early so that we could get set up and comfortable on the boat before taking off. The boat had two large Yeti coolers filled with ice for us to keep our drinks cold. They also had trash cans and cups for our drinks. Captain Greg answered all of our questions about the area, was always willing to take a photo and even made sure the boat was positioned just right so the sunset was in the background of each photo. If you are debating renting a tiki boat from Pau Hana, DO IT! Really fun experience :)

I have been fishing on the Duke O' Fluke since I was 9 years old. I'm 35 this year and it continues…read moreto be as nostalgic as the first day I stepped aboard. Albeit the original captain was an old salt who did not hesitate to tell the other boaters how they messed up. Capt Dave these days carries the same passion with much more reservation and patience. (Decide for yourself if that's better or worse) Captain Dave and crew of the Duke O' Fluke remain my undoubtable choice for a fishing charter to this day. Their charisma, work ethic, and nautical knowledge will undoubtedly ensure your best chances of landing a keeper, even in a full boat. We booked an afternoon reservation today with my hopefully soon to be brother in law and their kids and everyone had a blast. I was proud to introduce my soon to be new family members to one of my favorite childhood experiences and share that with them. The Duke O' Fluke provides true lifelong memories for every fisherman at any level of experience and they are more than happy to welcome and accommodate everyone onboard. Shout out to Andrew, our deckhand today,He had his hands filled literally and metaphorically with keepers, shorts, tangled lines, snagged lines..(sorry for the three hooks we lost). Andrew was very well experienced and kept his head in the most tense and exciting moments of fishing guaranteeing a catch when it wouldn't have been possible without him. I'm sure no one else noticed but if you take a single look at a fisherman's hands they will tell you whether or not they are worth their salt. Andrew's hands are full of fresh and old scars from a career of fishing quickly and efficiently. Marked, calloused, recovering, scarred, and fresh. Also everything in between. Please remember to tip your deckhand when you visit. They deserve every dollar you give them for their incredible service.

He kept giggling while jiggling my son's rod. But before we get there, it's reasonably priced, the crew is knowledgeable, and the bait is plentiful. I still swear Michael was calling it Cuckbait and not Cutbait but we will get back to him. Whether you are new to fishing or an old salt this boat has what you need. On my fishing expedition we were landing flounder left and right. All who participated in the biggest fish pool were going back and forth. Michael, who I promised to get back to, was grinning from ear to ear cause we all know the pool is a ploy to drum up some money for the leadhead deckhand. Captain called "last drift" and I joke you not, a lord of the fins landed the biggest flounder I have ever seen. Michael fist pumped along with the gentlemen till he realized he wasn't in the pool and Mike got serious. He pretended like he hadn't been jiggling my son's rod all day. Long story short he wasn't happy when the dude who landed the doormat only gave him an Andrew Jackson. To clarify, nothing fresh happened, he likes to mess with the little kids. Meaning likes to pretend like they have the big one by playing with their pole from behind. This isn't coming out right. Just watch yourself around that Trout Slapper Michael.

Everything with this club has been top notch from the beginning…read more Having never boated on my own before except for a few jet ski rentals, I was hesitant to jump into owning my own boat or jet ski considering how much cleaning, maintenance, and hassle is involved, as well as insurance and other concerns on the water that I would be encountering with little experience. This is where Freedom really stands out in my mind. Before being able to take any boats on my own, I had to have a PowerPoint and an on-water training with Captain Rick (who is awesome btw!). I can say very confidently that the time spent with him was worth the buy in to the club on its own. I now feel very confident on the water, so much so that I immediately took a boat out myself and spent the entire day on the water. I explored the intracoastal from sea isle back to AC and then took a trip half way up the egg harbor river. I had no trouble navigating and knew exactly how to approach other boats, dock, etc. The boats are all very new and well taken care of. They have pontoon boats, bowriders, center and dual console boats for fishing or water sports,, and they are always purchasing new boats as the membership grows. Some can be used offshore up to 25 miles. You have to take a training for that, but as a new boater I wouldn't want to head out into the ocean without that training. They will give you unlimited training so that you are as comfortable and safe as possible while out there. As a father of three I feel this is the most important thing. All of the boats have garmin navigation and charts outlining local restaurants and points of interest. This makes it pretty easy to not hit the shallows or get stuck on a sandbar. But since i got the upgraded insurance plan, towing and repairs are covered 100%. Being a new boater and given the amount of things that can go wrong on the water, this gives me a ton of peace of mind. In fact my first day on the water I drifted into some mud and was easily able to get myself out without any problems and was on my merry way. They keep a ratio of 8 members per boat meaning they buy a new boat every time they add 8 members. From talking with other members and captain Rick, it's not hard to get a boat most times and they have only ever had all boats out once or twice on the same day. I did the weekday plan so I don't have to fight the tourists for boats on the weekend but my understanding is the weekends aren't that bad especially because they have opened other locations in Cape May and Delran as well as in Delaware and New York. You get unlimited access to boats at all of the locations owned by this franchise, I believe it's 8 locations and counting so far. The best part about this club is all of the almost 300 other locations across the country and a few in Europe that you can rent from four times per year each. We plan on planning our vacations around their locations all over the country in not only ocean locations but also lakes and rivers. There isn't enough days In the year to exhaust all of those reciprocal reservations. Some locations have pontoons with water slides even. I also work all over the country so this will really be a much needed reprieve when I'm working. But add to that that I don't have to worry about maintenance, insurance, towing, etc. You have dock staff that caters to your every need, and I can just walk into the dock, hop on a boat, and be out in the bay in five minutes. This boat club is great for people that love boating because of the varied choices of boats, but also because it is so easy and hassle free. I'm not sure I ever see myself buying my own boat. My only disappointment with the club is that they don't have jetskis. I believe that with the training they give , they can definitely find a way to incorporate jetskis and still have favorable insurance coverage. I may buy a jetski at some point but as far as boats, why buy my own when I have access to thousands of boats across the country? 10/10 recommend if you are in the market for a boat, check this out before you buy one.

The two first mates and captain were polite and we'll mannered . The boat is an aged fishing boat and perfect for a maximum of 4 hours. Parking is also fairly easy near the dock . This strip of Bay Blvd has all of the water sports and wave runners rentals next door to one another. If you are a serious fisherman this is not your vessel, based on the amount of kids that outnumbered adults on our trip. The total number of passengers were about 75 and no one caught a keeper. We did catch a small sand shark and threw it back In after dozens of pictures and a victory lap around the deck for the kids to see and touch. Good value and fun memory. I have never met anyone in my life that's so rude, snarky, and condescending. From the the moment I arrived she gave us nasty looks and wouldn't answer our questions in full detail. Today, My family and I decided to rent a pontoon from them. There was 12 of us on board the pontoon and never imagined the pain and suffering we had to go through to make it back to shore. We decided to rent a pontoon for four hours to enjoy our day out in the water. It was our first time renting from this place. From the moment we rented the boat, it shut off 5 times during normal cruising speeds. We finally called and told them the boat keeps shutting off on us. So they gave us a few steps to try to troubleshoot the problem and nothing worked. They finally decide to send out a deck mate on a small diggy fishing boat that barely fits one person. It took him 40 mins to come out and meet us in the middle of the bay while we were anchored because the boat wouldn't start. He came out and inspected the boat and told us the motor took on water (not sure how this happened) and tried to tow us with the little boat while we're all onboard (completely illegal) instead of calling a tow boat service. While trying to tow (which was unsuccessful due to the weigh). Some passerby's pulled up next to us with their personal boat and decided to help us after they saw us all in distress and had us abandon our pontoon and get on their personal water craft for our safety and took us back to shore while the deck mate dealt with the pontoon in the middle of the bay as the water was beginning to get choppy and windy. Keep in mind we had coolers, bags, purses, etc. Which we all had to transfer from our pontoon to these random peoples boat trying to save us. Once we arrived back to the docks, I walk into the front office of the business and they act like nothing happened. They Wouldn't even apologize or sympathize with the bad experience all 12 of us just had for the past hour and half. All they worried about was keeping the deposit of $500.00, holding my credit card hostage (which is illegal according to Ocean City Police) The girl at the front wouldn't even reimburse us for the rental rates. YES THE POLICE WERE CALLED BY THE BUSINESS ON US. Thankfully Ocean City Police sided with us and told her she can't hold my credit card hostage. Ocean City PD told me this place always has the police called because of these same issues with other customers. The girl at the front continued telling us were to blame when there is no way we did anything wrong, we couldn't even speed due to the weight and size of the pontoon so how did the motor catch on water? They kept making a million and a half excuses why they wouldn't give me my deposit back! I URGE ALL OF YOU READER DO NOT DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! The girls at the front are disgusting and quick to take your money and leave you without any information. Save yourself the headache. Find a different place! I will be seeking legal advice against this business.

We met Captain Mike and his 1st mate, Andrew at 7 AM and we headed out for Seabass. They treated my wife and I with a great deal of respect and great friendly conversations. The waves were a little closer together than forecasted. Which made for a very rough ride. We arrived at our fishing spot and drop the lines for a short bit. Mike closely monitored the radio and made the wise decision to pull the lines up and head in as the reports were that the winds and waves were coming in much sooner than predicted. We were able to see some humpback whales blowing, and even a US Coast Guard helicopter training Mission. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the waves and me "feeding the fish" a couple of times. When we returned to dock, Captain Mike was clearly disappointed and graciously offered to adjust our rate since we weren't out there the full time. Absolutely no doubt that we would book with them again in the future.
