According to my credit card, I've paid for The Grind's incredibly shitty service 6 times... so after 6 visits I feel that I'm able to make a 100% correct observation about a place where I'll no longer be spending money, nor supporting, nor publicly bitching about because, let's face, there's enough miserable people in the world and subjecting them to The Grind's "less than everything" attitude wouldn't be very nice, and someone might actually try to accuse of "attempted characterization murder". Though, according to other reviews on this incredibly fucked-in-the-head place, I'm not the only who feels they're - The Grind, Old Street - IS LITERALLY THE WORST PLACE TO SPEND MONEY ON COFFEE IN THE CITY OF LONDON!
The List of negatives starts with Shitty service over-priced luke-warm coffee, counter people with shitty attitudes who can't even find it in themselves to say "hello" or "have you been served?" and, instead, try to make one feel like it's a privilege to have their shitty service in the first place (specifically: the short-haired hipster dude at register with glazed over eyes, and short-haired white chick who smells of B.O. and just looks like she could use a friend with a shower - and perfume).
And the "negatives" keep going, as last week saw me walking into the Starbucks (gross, and my last ditch effort for a cup of hot coffee) next door while swearing off the Grind and promising myself that that was literally the last fucking time I'd ever set foot in that place again.
So this morning I tried Ozone; same area, better coffee, more options, better minimal Techno playing in there, and - wait for it - A STAFF THAT ACTUALLY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THEIR ESTABLISHMENT, and gives enough of a shit to make a good strong cup of coffee. I'm not going to say the coffee was 100% supreme; however, the service was so extra that I didn't even mind... and even ordered an extra cuppa. And went back three more times with a combined of 42 clients over a span of 4 hours. That's right... because I don't just spend my money in these places, I spend other people's money too [with their permission] - and a lot of it.
Also, so as to avoid having to depend on The Grind again, we've also registered with Pact Coffee; they're local, nice, and deserve our money more than this p.o.s. place does!!
Lastly, Fuck the Grind and their shitty service and bitter employees who can't muster enough strength to give a shit. The only thing they should be grinding is their teeth on their shitty attitudes... and for fuckssake, how hard is it take a fucking shower and wipe off the B.O.??
One thing for [almost] sure: I'm almost positive that Jesus himself wouldn't piss on this place if it were burning. And for that, I thank Jesus.
Fuck off The Grind. Hello, Ozone... you sexy bitch you. read more
