Victor was our Shoreline guide and he was phenomenal! Most tours likes these really depend on the quality of the guide, and Victor had a plethora of knowledge to share. I didn't fact check him during the tour, but he was able to memorize like 100 numbers to share about the buildings in Chicago, I mean talk about skill!!! He was super thorough and gave his opinion on the buildings and how they were built. I went in mid-October at 4pm and the ship wasn't full at all, so I wouldn't worry about buying a ticket ahead of time. It was quite chilly on the boat, so I recommend bringing a lot of layers as it is a 75 minute ride. The view from the boat is amazing and you're really able to appreciate each building along the river. It was a bit cloudy/foggy the day of our tour, so that was a bit annoying, but we were still able to see all the buildings pretty well. They have drinks on the boat, but I wish they had hot chocolate. That'd been lit. They also have Groupon passes for this specific tour, but we didn't know if it was good to use the day of because the instructions were kind of convoluted. Oh well, still worth it! read more

We had a wonderful experience today with our family members visiting Chicago from Scotland. Our reservation was easy to make online and we used discount code WEB2019 and got a couple dollars off each admission ticket. Our tour guide NICK was very informative, funny and kind. Actually got an opportunity to take this tour because it was part of a promotion that was going to be ran with ABC News broadcasting live from the boat itself the event in the being cancelled which was no fault of the cruise line but we were disappointed we planned it we pay for parking and we rush to get to something that did not happen but the crews didn't happen which we enjoyed it was a very bright and sunny day the tour guide was a gentleman named Alex who did a really good job and very informative new his knowledge about all the buildings and why they were famous and some interesting tidbits about different locations throughout the Riverway the boat doesn't offer any type of coverage for the Sun the boat did offer snacks and drinks for various prices but the young lady did tell me that you could bring your own snacks aboard which was great no complaints about the cruise itself read more

What a great tour! Very informative and our tour guide Bridgett had an awesome personality. Her down to earth demeanor and corny jokes was pleasant but she was very informative and not too over-bearing going off on random tangents or anything like that. They have a bar which is nice and give you ample time to take nice pictures of the architecture or with each other if you want to get up briefly to take one with friends, family, loved ones. It felt just right, not too long or short at 75 minutes. I heard others were 90 minutes but I thought it was just right. Prices at $37(41 something with tax and fees) seemed very fairly priced when I looked around and heard you could get a $5 discount if you purchase online but not sure about that as I purchased mine in person and didn't hear about the discount until the tour was over. If you're in Chicago, definitely take this tour for a fun time and come open to listen and learn about the sweet history and influence of Chicago architecture! read more

Booked a Architectural river cruise for 6pm on September 28th back in May. I didn't pay until Friday. Now when I walked the 35 minutes to the launch site I was informed that they had canceled the cruise a month ago because they had been booked for a private trip. Now as a business you would think they would have looked at the pre books and emailed them of this change and canceled cards to be charged and refunded those who paid in advance??? This would seem like the smart responsible form of action..... no they had the dock guys inform the upset patrons. When you try to call it's please email us for a refund. This is the act of a company who doesn't give a damn about customers. So to the person in charge of this cowardly actions step up and stop playing with yourself. Dropping this big of a ball isn't a adult move it's the act of a child. If you can't tell still really upset about missing this opportunity. I might not make it back to Chicago so I might never get to experience this type of trip. And since I was in my car for hours I was really looking forward to some historic river experience and a damn drink.... do better people. Such a let down read more

We visited the Navy pier on a sunny mid-September Saturday morning. Around 10:45am my party of 8 decided to enjoy the Shoreline Architectural sightseeing boat tour along the Chicago River. We did not have a reservation. The tour cost was $39 per adult. There is a bar on board the ship. An Absolute Bloody Mary costs only $6.35.
