As a big mobster fan, this tour by Frank Calabrese Jr. was fantastic! As the biggest mobster turncoat of present day, Frank has great insight into the world of the modern day mafia in Chicago. On his tour, he guides you through downtown Chicago providing great details about how the Chicago mob operated, past and present, while sprinkling in real stories about his time works as an enforcer in his fathers' Chinatown crew. Well worth the time and money. This is a great tour for anyone looking to find out about modern mobster trivia in Chicago.

My wife recently took her family on the Family Secrets Tour, when they were in town. I was not able to attend then. She raved about how great the tour was and I HAD to do it. I scheduled a private 1 on 1 tour with Frank. Frank took me to different places in Chicago that he used to own/run and told stories of his life. Truly an interesting life he lived! Frank is genuinely a nice person and overcame such a rough past. The 2 hour tour went by so quickly. I could talk with Frank for hours, and look forward to scheduling another tour in the future. Thanks Frank!

Wanted to do a MOB tour in Chicago (From San Francisco) I looked and looked and looked - when I found "Family Secrets" I knew this was the one. Frank was so honest & kind. I was able to see Chicago like a local and not on a big tour bus. The way Frank has it set up it is nothing less than impressive. When I go back to Chicago I will be going on this tour again. Look no further if what you are looking for is a honest, truthful, straightforward, up front, sincere tour of Chicago MOB. Thank you Frank!! Ana C. San Francisco, CA

This tour was incredible! My husband and I had the best time seeing the city and hearing all about Frank's family secrets. He provided an iPad with visuals as well as taking us to famous spots throughout downtown Chicago. We felt as though we were living it with him-he is such a friendly, engaging man and he described these life events so vividly as if they had just happened. I recommend this tour to every, including kids.

If you want a tour of Chicago organized crime. Frank Jr is your guy! It was the best tour I've ever been on. I didn't speak for two hours because I was soo captivated with Frank Jr's story. I would recommend the private tour. It's so worth the one on one with Frank. I am definitely going to go again!! See ya soon Frank!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a private tour with Frank. Frank's background and stories are so fascinating. The tour itself really shows Chicago off, too. If anyone really wants a unique tour that really shows the history of Chicago off I would recommend this to anyone.

Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale. 5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 % of my reviews)

My wife did this tour a couple years ago and highly recommended it, but I wasn't especially interested because I had also gone to school here and figured I knew enough about Hyde Park already. However, she insisted that it would be worth our while and so I agreed to climb on the bus. And it was the absolutely right decision, because the tour was excellent. In fact, it wasn't just a tour of Hyde Park. It included the surrounding neighborhoods of Washington Park, Kenwood, Jackson Park, and Woodlawn. Since this was a UChicago sponsored event much of the information related to the University's investment and involvement in the area. Our tour guide and founder of Chicago Detours, Amanda, is herself a graduate of UChicago and thus she had some additional insight into the relationship with the community. Though the 75-minute tour felt a little slow-going at times, there was much to learn about the vibrant but sometimes troubled history of the area. Amanda has tremendous knowledge and the excursion was both fascinating and entertaining. I can imagine that Chicago Detours would have equally interesting tours of other neighborhoods in this diverse city.

I took off work, paid for their services and flew to Dubai for a specific reason. I did not get to see the museum, not because it was a holiday or it was under maintence but because some employee had no idea what they were doing. When I complained and asked for a partial refund since I did not get what I paid for, I was offered a free trip to Abu Dhabi when I come back to Dubai. This is unacceptable since i have no intention of returning to Dubai any time soon or know if I ever will. This is a very large company and while mistakes happen, the cost for me should not be so high. To be honest it was still a little expensive considering they were driving from Wilmette to Northfield to Glencoe, but less than the other: $840 for a 3 hour minimum for a party bus of 28. We also didn't need it for the entire 3 hours, but the options I found were either one way or 3-4 hour minimums so this was the best deal. I found their communication to be stellar both via email and text. The bus driver was on time and the kids had no trouble locating the party bus when they came out of the dance and I've heard it was one of many party busses. A few of my daughter's friends hopped on for the way home and commented that this bus was way nicer than the one they took to the dance from another company. Overall, it was a success. The parents could have easily driven these kids ourselves, but the party bus elevated the experience and the kids all seemed to enjoy the VIP treatment.
