For background, I am a first time homeowner and our new place hadn't had any landscaping done for the past 4-6 months. We have 4 palm trees, a bunch of trees, shrubs, plants, and sprinklers that needed attention badly! We decided to take some trees out, trim and tidy most everything else, and remove the remaining trees and plants that were either dead or did not match what we envision for our backyard. I had 8 different companies/people come by and give me a quote for removing trees, hedging, planting new plants, cutting some shurbs and trees down, as well as cleaning up the entire backyard. I was fed up with outrageous quotes, people not showing up, people not responding, and overall TERRIBLE customer service. I get it, it's COVID-19 time and most people are remodeling and people are busy, but at LEAST be professional! So, I called Alejandro and left him a message. He called me back the next day and we discussed a time for him to come by and see my backyard to give me a quote. He was punctual, professional, and respectful. English is his second language, but he understood everything I asked. When all was said and done, he quoted me a very fair quote compared to the other 8. It wasn't the cheapest, but because he knew what he was doing, was professional, communicate, and punctual, I decided to give him a try. Boy am I glad I did! We LOVE our backyard now. All the dead plants were removed and he planted new plants for us (which we bought from Lowes). He also removed the trees we didn't want as well as trimmed, hedge, and cleaned up all our palm trees, regular trees, bushes, and shrubs. He also adjusted some of my sprinklers and gave me some tips! We are super happy with his work and I decided to leave him a review because I am so happy with the work he did. He cleaned up after himself and even went over my neighbors (with her permission) to blow and clean the dirt/rubble that got into her backyard from trimming our palms! Hands down cannot recommend him enough! I will be calling him when it's time for maintenance or if we have any other landscaping need.

But Lynda, the only person you're permitted to speak with to arrange service, is a liar. We hired J. Moreno Tree Service to take down and manage the removal of three trees. While negotiating the service and the price, we asked for two things: 1) that an 8' section of a specific tree be left so I could make a bench out of it (this request was accompanied by a photo) and 2) that we be able to keep the ground-up trees to use for mulch. "I'll let my guys know to take care of it," Lynda wrote in a text. Guess what? She lied. The guys who came knew nothing about it and by the time I got out there, they had already cut the 8' section into pieces. When I showed the worker the request and the photo, he felt terrible; he had not been told about that, he said. When I contacted Lynda to ensure that we would be getting the mulch, she wrote, "We cant get The mulch because it's mixed with logs (sic)" When I asked why she didn't tell me that when I asked, she wrote, "Im so sorry They came from another job and couldn't it was mixed (sic") In other words, oopsie, tee hee. She had the nerve to blame it on "miscommunication" when it was right there in the text string. Lynda is a liar. Her sole objective is to agree to get you to accept the job. She does not communicate with "her guys." Lynda is a liar.

I was a little nervous because to me it was a large project and there weren't many reviews yet. I looked up the company and verified the licensing. I like to support my local businesses and I'm sure glad I gave them a chance. I ended up getting a quick response from Anaheim Tree Care. They referred me to Luis, who came out to give me a quote on removing two palms, two stumps and some other plants around the perimeter of my backyard. Luis gave me a great price compared to the other vendors I contacted. He was able to do the work I needed within a short time frame. I even asked if we could go over what needed to be done one more time before the work started! He definitely was on his game! Afterwards, I walked around and reviewed the work done, and he assured me that if there was any issue I could call him back and he would address it. I did call him back for some additional roots that were missed near the sprinkler pipes. Luis Zamora provided great service and prompt response.
