Visiting family in the triple cities, my sister took my mom and me to Shores Sisters to use a gift certificate. It was a lovely surprise. The sandwiches & baked goods were delicious. And the farmer's market display of veggies, flowers, & fruits were beautifully displayed. I bought small gifts to take home with me & we had a lovely afternoon. Today was the first time I visited Shore Sisters with two of my sisters. It was a nice little market. We ate lunch in the café. It was just okay. I had the roast beef/provolone horseradish panini. It had way too much horsey sauce on it. And only one side was toasted well. When I opened up the box both halves were stacked and very stuck together. I thought it was one sandwich until my sister told me they were stuck together. It really was a mess! One of my sisters got a turkey wrap and was not impressed. I don't think I will be in any hurry to return here for lunch. The rest of the shopping was nuce. read more

We stayed at the hotel down the street and when I passed it I knew it was a place I wanted to check out. As a pickle lover, I was highly satisfied. This place is so cute and I wish I could have e gotten a picture of the indoor seating at the cafe but there were a lot of customers. read more

Visited Shores Sisters recently after a friend highly recommended the place to me (she visits regularly). They were - and still are - in the midst of a pretty significant plant sale (annuals, perennials, indoor/house plants, succulents, etc). Ultimately, I do think the timing of my visit during this sale impacted my experience. For one, the assortment of indoor/house plants & succulents was minimal and generic by the time I got there. While I was able to grab some herb plants and a Aeonium Kiwi succulent that I had been looking for, there was a pretty significant amount of the plant inventory that was looking pretty sad and wilted. Inside of the market is another tidbit that could see a bit of improvement, perhaps. While there's a nice variety, it also feels crowded. I've been to similar markets and they try to create aisle ways that allow for carts in both directions, etc - but that's not really possible at Shores Sisters. On a busier day, navigating the aisles feels like a bit of a cluster. Also, because of the location of the checkout area? Any backup in the checkout queue means folks spilling out into the already crowded aisles that people are trying to navigate through. It's not great. That said, the market does have a nice selection of jarred goods, produce, baked items, and so on. Perhaps one of my only disappointments with what was available in the market was, for example, that I went to grab a container of strawberries and it had a Dole label on it. I can get those anywhere... I was hoping for something supplied more locally. In terms of the cafe experience, I ordered the sandwich special: a blackberry grilled cheese (a grilled cheese with bacon and a spicy blackberry jam). It was noted that the blackberry jam was low spice, but I honestly tasted barely any spice at all... and I was looking for it (and I tend to pick up on spice/heat pretty easily, so I was surprised). I had also ordered a taro milk boba tea... and while the taro flavor was good, the tapioca pearls hadn't been cooked enough. Tapioca pearls have to be cooked in order to allow for their softer/gummy-type texture, and my tapioca pearls has a softer outside, for the most part, but almost all of them were undercooked and thus still harder on the inside. It was unpleasant. TL;DR. I'm trying to chalk up my feelings about this place to them being low on inventory because of the sale + having been busier than usual. That said, it's a decent drive (over an hour), and today's experience doesn't necessarily motivate me to hurry up and return. Maybe some day, but it'll be timed very differently. read more

The food in the cafe is abysmal. I've eaten there twice already. Both times it was horrible and expensive. This last time, the macaroni and cheese was mush absolute mush. The chicken salad sandwich needed some kind of seasoning. Any seasoning would've been better than none. I like the grocery store. The fruit is nice and the vegetables look nice, too. The house plants are overpriced. The vegetable plants are reasonably priced, but when I checked out with my 5 six-packs of plants, she wouldn't give me a box she put them in plastic bags. I won't travel to this place again. read more

We live over 5 hours away, and were only in for a wedding, but I loved this place! I am sad I might never get to go back. I know I would be here all the time for flowers, decorations, veggies, fruit, and lunch. The store is set up perfectly and makes you feel so at home! The apples looked amazing and the flower cart area was adorable. We grabbed lunch and took it back to our hotel and it was really good. My hot chocolate though was the best part of the experience. read more

One of my favorite places to go on our trip to Bradford County. We had breakfast here one morning (bacon strawberry pannini, sticky buns, breakfast pizza and coffee). Everything tasted great and was very filling. We were in town for my Husbands birthday and picked up some cupcakes here which did not disappoint. On our way out of town we got 3 bags of coffee for home as well as some drinks for the drive. I would have brought home one of the raised planters if we had room in our car as they were gorgeous and fairly priced. read more

Great lunch at Shore Sisters yesterday. I grabbed a pastrami panini with macaroni salad to go. Panini was stuffed full of meat. Came with a decent size side of macaroni salad and a small cup of pickles. Sorry I did not take a pic. Lunch was $12 and change. Nice cafe with fresh fruits and baked goods. Friendly staff and plenty of parking. Access can be a little tricky when traffic is busy. read more

I like the new layout but for some reason this business doesn't understand that part of the cost of doing business is allowing people to use credit cards without penalizing them. They charge 3% fee which covers their cost but then they turn around and ask the customer to absorb THIER cost of business. When I questioned this they said that everyone does it, but at least they are being upfront. While I appreciate them making the fact they are penalizing us 3% to use our cards transparent it is not even close to being factual to say that all businesses penalize their customers this way. I find this to be distasteful and frankly stingy. But, this is why we all have options to shop different places. read more

Shores is a fantastic staple in Towanda. Great coffee, baked goods, and other food options. Best produce and grocery options as far as quality in the region. Originally 4/5 because the music is loud beyond what noise canceling headphones can soften in the cafe area and the A/C is ramped to require more than a sweatshirt for comfort. I sure wish the baked goods were better here, the ones made elsewhere are outstanding. The help is not very friendly, and more than a few times I've asked for sugar-free syrup in my coffee and gotten regular sugar syrup according to my meter! On a positive note I love the No-bake cookies and produce is usually very good. I love their inexpensive fresh flowers and hand-made cards for sale. SS would have a much larger business if their baked goods were better! read more

Stopped by for a look see. They have fresh produce, dry goods, dairy and assorted meats in the fridge. You can buy apples in bulk or by the pound. They have a cooler with pre-sliced lunch meats and cheeses at a good price. They have fresh baked goods too. They recently added a Cafe section that serves sandwiches and beverages for take out or eat in. Lastly, they have a nice little home store and nursery in the back. Basically, something for everyone. They are closed on Sundays so plan accordingly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's easy to get to off Route 6 and has lots of parking. It has been a staple in Wysox for years. Shores is one of the best places to get vegetables or cheese or steak. Also the greenhouse are awesome in the spring and summer! This Mother's Day I couldn't see my mom so I called Shore Sisters and asked if I could buy a gift card and have it mailed to her. They of course said yes and didn't even charge me for the stamp!
