While the shop is small, they stock all of the essential art supplies (brands like STABILO, POSCA, and DecoColor) so customers can be more intentional with what they want to buy. The store requires ID checks for paint marker purchases. In addition, the shop also carries a large selection of Asian art materials for calligraphy (e.g., square paper, calligraphy brushes, calligraphy books, ink stones, black sumi ink, brush hangers, etc). Apparently students from USC who take calligraphy courses come here to purchase their supplies. Overall this is a decent shop for anyone looking to restock art supplies or buy calligraphy materials. When I saw the work, I was shocked by how sloppy, rushed, and low quality it looked. This was not professional work and not something any business should hand to a customer. I explained that I was unhappy with the quality and asked for my money back because I could not use this canvas for my client. Instead of trying to fix the problem, they refused and kept saying, "This is how we do it," and that they already spent time, labor, and materials on it. They acted like there was nothing wrong with the work at all. What made the experience even worse was the attitude and disrespect. Instead of helping or apologizing, I was told to leave the store. I also took photos of the canvas so people can judge the quality for themselves. I would not recommend this place if you expect professionalism, quality workmanship, or respectful customer service.
