I LOVE my kitchen cabinets. If you are remodeling a kitchen in Los Angeles do yourself the biggest favor and make an appointment with Showcase. Peter and Annie were exceptional. With 30 years of experience they were able to make my kitchen dreams a reality. Showcase has a large clean workshop in the San Fernando Valley where they fabricate custom cabinetry. Kevin, their in-house designer provided the complete layout design and elevations. Annie helped me envision what I wanted by showing me the most gorgeous kitchens they've installed in mansions from Hollywood and Beverly Hills to Malibu. Plus they were way more affordable than every other cabinet shop I'd investigated. When it came time for the installation Tulio and Luis worked in my home like it was their own. They were super tidy. Their work - immaculate. Peter stopped by several times a day, watching every detail of the job like a hawk. He is really the artist who makes the entire project come together PERFECTLY. Peter Scholz, the owner of Showcase Cabinets, is truly an artisan. He not only built my perfect Kitchen and bathroom as well as my library ( but helps you design it. My first timing hiring Showcase was in 2012, with my first home where he brilliantly came up with ideas for my problematic layout of my 1928 Kitchen. His eye for detail was impeccable and I was extremely happy with his team and importantly trusted them in my home. Now that I have moved, I have hired him to redo my bathrooms, kitchen, den and build a custom dining table. I am thrilled to be working with him and his team again. Everyone is on point and friendly. During the design phase we always will address any foreseen challenges and come up with a creative solution. Showcase provides me with the comfort that they are always doing their best, Peter is assuring and effective and accommodating. Kitchen and bathroom remodeling isn't an inexpensive process. But with Showcase Cabinets, not only am I making a great investment in my home, the quality and craftsmanship of the work increases its' value. They are really top notch. read more

Worst experience working with Peter. He was recommended by the contractors we hired (also fired them) and the job took about 6 months to complete. Poor customer service (barely responds), lies (told us he would us a certain paint and didnt), and overpriced (25% higher than others). I was holding off on writing this review till after he completed his job. We have worked with many vendors, I can truly say Peter has been the worst. I understand vendors get busy and sometimes take a while to get back to you, and that I am ok with. But lying is where I draw the line. I requested a certain brand and color of paint from Peter. He guaranteed he was painting with that brand of paint and color (via email and text). After countless calls, texts and emails, Peter finally showed up. At this point it had been about 4 months and the cabinets still hadn't been completed (Peter is very good at saying "ill be there next week" and not showing up). When the painting of the cabinets finally took place, which are not done by Peters company (he outsources that painting), I found out he was in fact matching the color and using a cheap paint. I stopped the job and requested Peter do the job correctly. He refused to do it unless I paid extra for the sanding down of what he already painted (which was the wrong color) and the purchase of new paint. At this point we just wanted it done. We needed to move in and Peter was 2 months behind (which cost us an additional two months of rent). We finally just told him to get it done, picked another color and used his cheap paint. The cabinets are already chipping and we are living with it for now. Would I recommend showcase cabinets - NEVER. I can live with no response in a timely fashion, I can live with cabinets not being the best quality, but I cant live with someone telling me multiple times they are going to do something, and doing the complete opposite. As I said earlier, lies is where I draw the line. Horrible experience. Horrible individual. Horrible job. read more

Peter S is top notch. We remodeled our house and opted to keep the old cabinets and have them painted. Our painters made a hash of the job and none of the cabinets lined up or opened or closed properly. We were getting quotes for 1-2 days labor to come out and fix them. I called Peter and immediately knew he was on the ball. He asked me to e-mail him some pictures of the setup to get an idea of what actually needed to be done (kudos to someone in the home improvement business who uses and responds to e-mails) and said he could be there the next day. Came by and in an hour everything was fixed. Extra considerate too - everything was put back where it belonged and no trace of any kind of mess (even when some drilling was involved). When we do eventually replace the cabinets, Peter @ Showcase will be the one doing it for us! read more

We are a residential remodeling company established in 1982. We have used Showcase Cabinets for the past 10 years on a recurring basis. They are alway very helpful in refining the design or doing the complete design for us. Their craftsmanship is excellent, there finishing is great, their crews are clean and fast at what they do. Work like this can take a bit longer but it is worth additional time. For our projects cabinets are one of the features that everyone sees. Our work comes on a referral basis only and if we did not use high quality subcontractors like Showcase we would not be around long. While the staff is great the owner is nothing but a liar and crook. 1 year later I am still waiting on completion to a simple closet install. He admitted to forgetting dimensions and dropping the ball. Then instead of doing what he agreed to he tried to charge me for the wrong work triggered by his bad notes, forgetfulness and accountability. He put my awesome GC in a horrible mess. This firm is also overpriced drastically. Do not use or recommend!!! read more

I've had Peter complete more than three jobs over the past few years, I received amazing service/workmenship from him and his staff. Our first project the guys who did the floor messed up. Peter had addressed this with me we quickly made adjustments, and proceeded. Someone such honestly should be honored not put down. As for cost I've feel confident in his price and workmanship. Our kitchen remodel just completed and I give Showcase Cabinets 5 stars for sure. We got competitive quotes, all about the same, but we went with Showcase because of the quality job they did on our friends kitchen. I managed this project myself, got my own contractor and just had them make and install the cabinets. I had planned on the same floor plan we were updating but Peter suggested a few changes that completely improved the layout and efficiency and did not change cost that much. I have been around many construction projects and can tell these guys are absolute pros from design to installation. My counter installers commented that the cabinets looked better then most and our LADBS inspector said he sees a lot of kitchen remodels and ours was impressive and again noticed the quality of the cabinets. Peter followed our progress as we got the space ready to receive the cabinets and delivered as scheduled. From installers to touch up painters every staff member that entered our house were pros. I actually contacted Showcase Cabinets in 2016 for kitchen cabinet remodel. On a couple of occasions Peter the owner was rude to me via phone and something about his character was a bit off. Peter would lash out at a drop of the hat. Perhaps he was stressed and under pressure but a professional should know how to channel their emotions and not take it out on a new customer. In addition, Peter's response times in getting back to me was very slow. It took one month just to get a final proposal from him and in addition to that, when I saw photographs of one of his cabinet installs whereby the installation of the cabinets was not booked matched, I decided to move on. But oddly enough, when I did not return Peter's phone calls in a timely manner (giving him a taste of his own medicine), Peter acted as though he was dropping me. Peter left a voicemail message stating, "we simply cannot do your job at this time to accommodate your schedule so I am sorry but you will have to find someone else to do the job". In reality it was I who dropped Peter because the job was not moving forward in a timely manner. read more

Had a really good experience with Peter Scholz / Showcase Cabinets. We had a project that required building a cabinet for a subzero fridge as well as an oven stack that included a warmer and microwave. Time was the essence for us as we needed our kitchen completed before the Christmas Holiday. Peter kept the exact schedule he had promised us. Every aspect of the job was completely professional and we were very pleased with the workmanship. He and his crew went above and beyond our expectations.
