Jonathan came recommended through a friend of ours who worked with him on her remodel and gave nothing but a glowing review. We had no other friends who could, in good faith, recommend their former contractors, so we immediately knew he was something special. We were looking to add a new room to our house as an ADU above the garage. Many other companies we spoke to either quoted astronomically high or were simply unresponsive. Jonathan was immediately a very clear communicator, a straight shooter, and offered solutions that others did not propose to make all of our asks a reality. After the initial meeting, we threw in a curveball of wanting to replace all of the windows and doors on the main house as well. He was able to fold this into the plans and re-adjust the schedule and price accordingly. He is a diligent time manager and kept each part of the process moving, and even nudging us when the ball was in our court. Most importantly, he is extraordinarily responsive. Whatever question we had (and we had a lot of them), he would take the time to clearly explain the details of the situation. We desperately needed to remodel/expand our kitchen. It was tiny, had almost no counter space, and two people couldn't be in it at the same time. Next to the kitchen was an unnecessarily large bathroom, an unfortunate choice made by whoever flipped the property years ago. We'd been putting off remodeling due in part to the horror stories we'd heard. Jonathan was fantastic from the first contact and continued to be responsive, punctual, and communicated clearly about our options throughout the project. Anyone who has been through a remodel knows it's hard. Even if your contractor is AMAZING, it's hard. Having people in your home and living amongst construction and making decision after decision is stressful. This was my third round of construction and third contractor. Well, Third Times the Charm! We consulted with several contractors and from the beginning, Jonathan set both my husband and I at ease. He brought his expertise, experience and advice to the table but only in a collaborative way. Never in a way that felt pushy or argumentative. This was a full kitchen/front of the house remodel. The kitchen was a 1939 original so we went down to studs and knocked down a few walls. Johnathan not only brought our vision to life, he enhanced it. No job is perfect and we ran into several hiccups along the way. At one point my husband and I decided to do wood flooring in the kitchen after concrete had already been poured in prep for tile. Jonathan didn't bat an eye. Multiple times he said something along the lines of "It's your kitchen, I want you to be happy living in it." After 3 years of looking for a home in LA with our realtor, we finally were able to buy a home in our dream location, Burbank, California. My husband and I, who are high school sweethearts, would romanticize Burbank and were under the impression that, as adults, the prices for homes in Burbank would never be within reach. It wasn't until we found a home from the 1940s that was an absolute fixer-upper. Everyone in our lives begged us not to purchase and the house seemed impossible to repair. We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Jonathan. We bought a house in September and even before we closed, Jonathan came out and walked the property with us to make sure we were making the right decision. We completely renovated 3 bathrooms and from start to finish he makes everything easier. We first met Jonathan in October 2021 right around the time that we were closing on our current condo. As we had been living in this home, and renting, for about 2 years, we had already had some ideas brewing about the updates we wanted to make. When Jonathan came over for a consultation, we walked him through what we wanted to do in our kitchen and bathrooms and he let us know the best way to go about this. He took measurements when he was there so he was prepared to answer future questions over the phone or email. We sent him a few ideas of the design that we were looking for in each room. So after giving us a thoroughly drafted quote and a timeline (6-8 weeks for completion!), he also sent us links for items we could purchase ahead of time in order to be able to stick to the timeline as closely as possible - nothing frustrates a contractor like having to pause their project because they're wait for items to still come in! I was so impressed that Jonathan took time to bring me to multiple stores. He took time to show me different tiles and countertop materials that were aligned with the design ideas I initially sent him. This was a very different (and much more pleasant!) experience than a previous contractor who just directed me to websites to pick out floor/ tile materials and then I was left on my own to choose, with little to no guidance. We scheduled Jonathan to have his team start on demo work while we were going to be out of town. This step of the process went surprisingly quickly! I will say that it's not the easiest to live through a remodel (if you have the money or could go somewhere else for the entirety of it, that would be ideal). But, with that said, his team was beyond respectful of our space and they carefully sealed off the areas they were working on and covered the floors, so as to limit the dust and debris as best as possible. Jonathan left us paint samples to choose from for wall color and cabinet colors. Narrowing down which "white" to use on walls is a task in itself and I was relieved that Jonathan was able to narrow down my choices to only 2 or 3 colors (again, based on pictures I had sent). The white we ultimately chose looks beautiful and fresh in our west and south facing bathrooms! The final outcome of his team's work was perfection. Jonathan and his team are nothing short of amazing. They are an absolute pleasure to work with! From the moment we met him, we knew that our home and finances would be in excellent hands. We liked him so much that we didn't even interview any other contractors/architects (which is pretty risky given that we were doing a pretty major home renovation: we turned our kitchen into a bedroom, knocked down walls and needed 2 21-foot support beams, built an entirely new kitchen and redid the floors in the entire home). Our gut instincts were spot-on, and thankfully, Jonathan was every bit as wonderful to work with as he seemed that first day. He was very involved in the process and came pretty much daily to check on the quality of the work. He's trustworthy, caring, responsive, thorough, and just a really great guy to have around. My kids LOVED him, and still ask about him at times. Speaking of kids, we have 3 very small children and lived in the house during almost the entire remodel, and Jonathan worked out a plan so that we would have a functional kitchen throughout. Shockingly, everything went as planned... he was ON SCHEDULE or even ahead of schedule, almost the entire time. I think the only time we got pushed back a few days unexpectedly was from rain. One of the things that I most appreciated about Jonathan is his attention to detail and very high standards. In fact, on several instances Jonathan made his team redo some of the work (i.e. repaint our entire ceiling), because he felt it didn't meet his standards, even though I hadn't noticed any imperfection until he pointed it out. I don't think many contractors operate that way. At one point we travelled abroad for 2 weeks... My husband was super-nervous about being away while the hardwood floors were being done, and Jonathan seriously went above and beyond to keep us in the loop and involved every day. The best way to describe what a genuinely good man Jonathan is: on the day we came back, he spent over an hour helping my dad re-construct all of our kid's cribs (that's 3 cribs) just so that they'd be ready for naptime when we got back from our trip. We knew we wanted to work with Jonathan for our guest house project from the beginning. We never had to worry about anything and the job was completed on the time proposed, which I hear is very rare nowadays. We met with Jonathan for remodeling the two bathrooms in our house, and immediately liked his style -Jonathan is focused but relaxed, and took our job seriously without putting on pressure (we experienced both "hard sell" and "too busy to deliver quote" from a few other contractors we met with before Jonathan). Communication was excellent throughout the job - Jonathan replies very quickly to calls/texts, and we never felt in the dark about what was happening next (it was sometimes just a matter of checking in with him the evening before, or first thing in the morning). Carlos, who assists Jonathan, is also super friendly/helpful, and was always a pleasure to work with. When it came to handling a few issues that came up during the job, Jonathan made sure they were handled - whether the causes were outside his control (e.g., a vendor/materials issue), or touch-ups needed by his subcontractors. If we had to cite a minor downside, it would be that a few of the subs weren't perfect when it came to detail or clean-up (but, again, Jonathan followed through when we raised these issues). Over the years, I have asked family, friends, and colleagues for a reputable contractor but no one could recommend one that was not, in some way, dishonest, or less than trustworthy. They all recounted contractor horror stories... I finally decided to ask for recommendations from my neighbors on the Nextdoor app to build an ADU; thank goodness I did! Jonathan Litinsky is a gem in the world of construction!! He is extremely honest, reasonable, and reliable. His fees are fair--he also will make things right if there are any problems or on the job mishaps; right away, without hesitation! I had an old manual sprinkler control box that functioned well; during the garage tear down, the exterior door closure for the sprinkler broke off, even though the box still worked. When I mentioned to him, he replaced it immediately with a new wireless controller so I can now water my lawn no matter where I am. I didn't ask him nor did I expect him to replace it--I merely wanted a new handle to open the door. Unbeknownst to me, one of the sprinkler pipes had been broken. It was about 6:00 PM when I discovered it--I texted Jonathan--he had the plumber come out after hours around 7:00 PM even though it wasn't an emergency. I also thought that I smelled gas coming from the unit at 9:30 at night; other contractors might have sent someone out in the morning to check it out; not Jonathan--he sent the plumber to my home at 10:00 PM. One evening (after his crew had been working on the electricity for the ADU), half of my home didn't have power. I went out, turned the circuit breaker on and off, which somehow cut the power to my home. I called Jonathan, he offered to pay for all the food in the refrigerator even though it wasn't his crew's fault (it turned out that I had a faulty circuit). Jonathan is a designer and is always open to give his opinion on whatever ideas you might have. I frequently texted him on Saturdays and Sundays and always received a response. He is patient as well and will send you as many layouts for your project as you would like at no additional charge. He also was willing to have his installer to put up a porch light for me on my home (not in the ADU) for no extra charge. Jonathan just finished a full renovation of my 1935 Tudor home. We added sf and converted from 2bd 1 bath to 4/4. He did the entire scope while I was living out of state. We screened at least 5 contractors before settling on Jonathan and his team. We had three bathrooms to completely remodel and miscellaneous items around the home to redo. Jonathan took us through the entire process and provided us with accurate estimates. He accommodated the inevitable changes along the way and assisted with the entire process from design to selecting fixtures. We are very happy with the outcome and plan on using his team to remodel our Kitchen next year. The only bad thing is I used to look forward to traveling, so that I could use the shower at a hotel. I found Jonathan and metropolis while they were doing another project near my place in Pasadena. Jon took me on a quick tour in the house they were doing and i was impressed. When we hired him to design our second floor construction we didnt really knew what was the steps we should take. Jonathan walked us through the steps, provided endless drafts and ideas and steered us to the right direction. Its so reassuring to hire a contractor that actually have architectural experience and knows how to design. Once we got to the construction stage Jon provided a precise schedule of work and payments needed, we had portable toilets on site and the crew would always make sure to clean up in the end of the day. Jonathan was good at updating us each time with our progress and always available to answer my calls/text in a timely manner which made this process less stressful. We also had a certain budget in mind, so he made sure to stay within our initial estimate. He is detail oriented, knowledgeable and takes great pride in the quality of his work. I've been searching for a contractor that has design background as well to design my kitchen. Jonathan was the guy they sent over he was pretty great did a on the spot draft and design then on the second appointment he brought a 3D model for us to see as well. We signed the contract on our second meeting and the new kitchen remodeling was completed in 4 weeks. The quality of the materials was awesome, the workers all knew English and were very considered and Jonathan spent a lot of time with us selecting everything and making sure the process was done smoothly.
