Very disappointed with Showcase Restoration. We chose them as they were on USAA's preferred contractor list. We thought that meant we would avoid headaches in the future. Boy were we wrong!!!! I can't believe USAA would recommend a company like this. They were hired to mitigate the water damage and replace our hardwood flooring due to a dishwasher leak. The entire process dragged on and many of the repairs had to be redone a second time. (How hard is it to send a crew the first time that knew how to paint or replace a cabinet with a like quality?) Our center island had to be disassembled and when they put it back together, it was a shotty mess. After much arguing, they disassembled it again and sent it out to a professional cabinet maker for repair. Another month went by without our kitchen. We were very disappointed in the lack of trained workers they sent to our home. The flooring was poorly installed from the start--chips were visible on day one, and instead of fixing them, we were told to fill them in with a marker. The floors squeaked and gave when walked on, clearly pointing to improper installation from day 1. They even sent a crew out early on to spray WD-40 between the boards to try to stop the squeaking, which is completely unprofessional and not a real fix. The crews themselves did not appear to be properly trained in flooring installation. We also questioned why they installed flooring under our kitchen island when our original floors did not run underneath, but our concerns were dismissed. When we tried to resolve the issues, things only got worse. After filing a complaint with the state insurance commissioner due to lack of response from USAA, Showcase falsely claimed they had already replaced boards--this never happened. Poor workmanship, lack of professionalism, and inaccurate statements. I absolutely would not recommend. read more

Initially when Restoration took the job they stated people would come in to gather possessions to clean them and they left boxes in the master bedroom that they packed but did not take, a closet in one room full of my clothes including three suits which were ruined due to mold growing throughout the house due to the open roof. Also electronics were taken and later a lady called us to arrange to give us back a tablet that was found in Hope Mills. We brought this to Lynn's attention and we never heard of any follow through on it. We met with Ryan and stated some preferences when rebuilding and there wasn't a problem. When Jeremiah Doolittle Wright took over everything was a problem. When we first met Jeremiah with Adam, we were told that we would receive a schedule- never received asked for it again a couple of times and was ignored. Guess that was a lie. Also asked for wood from the fire to build a doghouse, was granted then when I went to pick some out Jeremiah lied to me saying they had to get rid of it. He forgot to mention before I got there and my neighbor saw Hispanic workers load it up and take it away because I checked in the dumpster and no wood was in there. His contractor stole 32 new 2x4s from the site and he got upset and complained to me. I said they stole the wood that I was supposed to get and he said that was only a request. So much for his words being good. Anytime I would want to bring up a concern he would cut me off and say I know what you're going to say and let me tell you this and never would allow me to address my concerns as he rambled on. And when I did speak he ignored me or gave me some lame quick excuse for my concern. One time it was people drinking on site and he said "it's a work site, what can I say?" Another time he said he can't control what people do. I told him there was piss in the upstairs shower and before he even saw it or examined it he told me it wasn't piss and still nothing done to clean it. I told him that I am sixty five years old and know what piss smells like. At one point Jeremiah asked me what happened to the refrigerator in the office and his crew took it out along with a large office desk. He then asked about the handrail on the outside and his cleanup crew threw that out also. He didn't supervise his crews and was never supervised by anybody himself. Jeremiah told contractors not to talk to me and would get upset at them when they did. Initially I was told 4-6 months now 9 months. Going on 10. Plumber got pissed at him when Jeremiah told the contractor not to talk to me. Later when the plumber didn't come back Jeremiah said plumber got COVID but when I asked the next man the company sent out how his coworker was doing he asked me what did I mean, no one had COVID and he was now the only person now working with the company since others quit. Another untruth. One contractor confided in me that Jeremiah asked him to do work at Jeremiah's house and when he refused, Jeremiah did not call him for a month. If I were the insurance adjuster, I would make Showcase pay for the extended stay at the apartment complex. Also would like to hear how the company is going to compensate us for the extended period. We have had to transport our child every school day an extra 2-4 months due to delays costing us time and money: gas, tires and time.It took 6 weeks before tarp was placed on the roof so the 1st floor sat in 3 inches of water for 6 weeks. The plywood on the floor was supposed to be replaced but wasn't. Cleaning out of the house was delayed because the worker and wife got COVID. Sheetrock was put up by amateurs and had to be fixed after they walked off the job. This delayed us another 3 weeks. We were constantly asked for extensions and what option did we have? Really! There was more sheetrock in the dumpster than in the house and the joint compound was so thick on the walls and on the floors that it was hard for the next people to remedy the problem. The painting of the walls was supposed to be completed over three weeks ago, now May 1. Kitchen wall was out of square, and I brought it to his attention that it was not square and he told me that it was built that way. The funny thing was his workers were the ones moving the top part of the wall and was not put back correctly. This is an example of how I was constantly bringing up concerns and was dismissed. Is it the motto of the company that we don't have time to do things right but we have time to do it over.The first floor plywood kept having more spots of weakness as time went on but he said we saved $5,000 for not replacing the flooring. When I addressed the plywood upstairs with him he wanted me to allow him to come back after the job was finished to complete that. Guess the only thing they understand is legal action. If you want to deal with thieves. Liars, cheats, illegal immigrants, drinking on the job, smoking then this is the company for you. read more

This company was responsible for my roof repair. Recommended by my Insurance carrier, USAA. It was a lengthy process with my insurance carrier concerning a partial roof repair, but Showcase provided evidence for a full roof repair and USAA blessed off on it. Very happy with that result, thank you Showcase and thank you Mr. Tom and Mr Isaac. Special shout out for Mr. Isaac for keeping me inform on my roof status daily, if not, at least weekly. Once funding was approve, no hesitation from Showcase and work started the next day, again, daily reports from Mr. Isaac. Again, thank you so much. read more

Horrible ...Follow up review to 1st post about never cleaning up all roofing nails in yard from work back in January. (Had roof re-shingled due to tree damage). Now 5 months later leak in roof. To be fair its from rotted wood not connected with tree damage. But it seems they just shingled around it and never said anything, plus you can see daylight from the attic. Which tells me they never checked their work. You would think they would have pointed it out that it needed to be fixed prior to shingles being put on. Plus it was not leaking prior to the work so did they open it up and make it worse? Well when asked they said since its from rotted wood not their issue so not under the warranty. So I will pay another company now to fix it. I would rather sit in a box loaded with live scorpions and rattle snakes for 3 days then deal with them again. It would be more pleasant. read more

This company tried to replace bathroom with cheap materials. I notified the project manager he realized he was caught. I have photos as proof of this. He returned the items. I had to request a manger to get something other than particle board cabinets. They took out solid wood cabinets. We ended up using my old counter top in one bathroom. He wanted to use cheap particle board to replace marble. But they have not cleaned or glazed the tile in both bathrooms. They left them both dull looking and chalky. They look really bad and we are embarrassed to let anyone use them.They has also not provided me with the warranty information as promised by the project manager. The manager also stated the work was warrantied during his visit. I will be contacting USAA again and the Better Business Bureau also filing a complaint with the North Carolina Contractors State Licensing Board. read more

My experience with showcase was definitely not a pleasant experience. Communication was horrible. I asked for a schedule and overall budget upfront and never received it. after asking multiple times, I was told by the project manager Russell "oh you'll get that at the end." After not receiving a schedule, workers would show up at unexpected times without being able to communicate what they were there to do. Trash was consistently left for me the homeowner to clean up. The project of repairing damage from a leaking refrigerator is still ongoing after six months. The project manager insinuated multiple times that I was lying about something working prior to the project starting saying "I didn't see it working while I was there so you know how it is, we won't take any responsibility." Equating my appliances to his grandma "everything has its time." Additionally contractors working with the company let us know som of these guys are complete assholes in office berating customers. Needless to say I would not recommend this company based on my personal experience. read more

The carpenters Justin and other person were being as helpful as they could be. Too bad they were sent out for only a few hours a week which dragged the project out all summer. The sub contractors who did the flooring were in and out in 4 to 5 days. Same for the company who did the tile. My PM told me to go ahead and pick out what I wanted for the bathroom just keep the receipts. When I asked for my money they handed me a list of low prices for the bathroom items and said they gave me the list before I bought the stuff which shaved off $2,000.00. They took all my stuff out of the rooms for the floor and put it in pods THEN told me the floor would cost $12,000.00 for 550 square feet which was double the rough estimate the PM gave me ! If I knew that I would have shopped around. When I did so after the fact the PM was pretty close to what it should have been. I was supposed to get a credit for carpet towards the floor for over $3,000.00 + dollars based on their estimate but the PM boss then said the floor really cost them $17,000.00!!! I came up with $6,488.00 for the floor the labor and removing the carpet based on competitors prices. They refuse to give you any receipts with verifiable information. They don't give you the sub contractors name and contact information or the company the wood was bought from. I am a recent Widow, a disabled veteran and a Senior citizen. They took advantage of me! Well I did not plan on sending anymore reviews about this place because I did not think it could get any worse but it did. Now Showcase and their Lawyer, have decided they are going to bully me into removing all my negative reviews about them, not be able to write any new ones and get this... also my complaint through the NC Department of Justice DOJ consumer protection, Attorney General's Office! So here I am. Another new item to go over is that I said they took advantage of a recent Widow, Senior and Disabled Veteran when they refused to pay me back for the materials I bought, my insurance credit for the carpet towards the upgraded Hardwood and the price jump of the Hardwood project from $6,000.00 + before the pack out to $12,078.00 after the pack in (550 sq ft). Their reply was that they could not do that because the owners Father and Founder died recently, they are Veterans and one of them is a Senior. Hmmm that sounds like the old cliche' "I am not prejudiced against Blacks, my friend (or relative etc.) is Black." In other words their statement ends up having the opposite effect. I was worried about the damage my toilet may have caused to my flooring, yet when I called and spoke with Ms. Ciara she assured me that all would be handled. There was never a time where she didn't answer all of my questions even if some were asked more than once. They're great at what they do, but they are never on time and stretch kind out way too far. We have been in the guest room for over six weeks waiting for them to finish fixing the damage caused by a leaking hose in the master bathroom. This is a terrible business. If I could give less than 1 star I would They completed the repair of the floor in the house that I bought. They put in snap together laminate flooring in April we bought the house in July. It was already coming apart in July. I spent months playing phone tag with them and getting them to come out and look at it. They continually told me that they would definitely fix it as it had only been a few months even though it was no longer under warranty since we bought it after the repairs had been done. They even sent someone out to look at it who pushed some of it back together and made other sections worse by separating the boards further. After the person taking point on the project went on vacation and eventually got back to me he told me they would not be repairing it. (I called him multiple times that day before he finally called me back.) I said were you not going to tell me you weren't going to repair it. He said "well I'm calling you now aren't I? This is an addition to what I wrote before. If things were bad enough Ryan Donnelly the supervisor of the Project Manager Johnathan Davis took a form that I signed at the very beginning most likely with Ken, that was used to show I had already paid my $500.00 deductible. That was all that was on that form. Ryan then added two paragraphs of false information about the cost of the hardwood then sent it to my insurance company,usaa, to show I received a credit for the carpet which I did not get. The form had obvious multiple handwriting, scratch offs and over writes of dates and financial figures. Being my signature was on there it made it appear that I agreed to it. Fraud pure and simple fraud. Criminal fraud. Ryan is so comfortable with this I know he must have done this many times before. They need a class action lawsuit. I contacted the NC DOJ and there are other complaints but no relief in the near future but I encourage all to do that who have been harmed by them anyway. I refused to sign the insurance check until they gave me the money they owe me for the carpet credit and materials I bought for a total of over $6,000.00. They are now suing me for the check and have put a lien on my house so now I have to lawyer up. They act with such impunity that they obviously have been getting away with this forever. The toilet that they did buy was a project source to replace the American Standard champion 4. What a piece of junk. It roars like an engine when flushed. They put in a part either upside down or backwards that flooded the adjacent bathroom and then claimed the part was broken. They had to get an outside plumber to fix it who told me twice how it happened. Liars, cheats and forgery. God help us all. read more

Beware, absolutely horrible! If I could give them no stars I would. A rental we had flooded from the building sprinklers and it took them nine months to do the repairs. There was always some excuse about this or that being out of stock or unavailable. The work was shoddy with the cheapest possible materials being used. Our property manager did a walk through after everything was completed and returned with 3 pages of issues. It took them 2 more months to get the minor repairs correct. When they sent me the bill, it was for an arbitrary amount with no breakdown of what it was for. I requested an itemized breakdown of the bill and they sent me the breakdown for another property. I asked for a breakdown for my property and what I had purchased and received an email stating they tried to put a lien on the property and wanted to take legal action for non payment. I finally sent them my own breakdown of the costs based on emails back and forth over the past nine months, which turned out to be over $1,200 less than they were trying to bill me for. ADVICE: 1 - If you're out of state they will put you on the back burner so stay on them! 2 - Get a cost break down for materials, tax, O&P for everything you decide on. They may quote you for something higher priced/grade item, you settle on a less expensive or lower grade item, but guess what? They'll try to bill you for the higher priced item! 3 - Make all decisions in writing and keep those documents and correspondence. They suck at communication let's put that out there first. The demo went great but I am now waiting on them to come put up drywall and paint my ceiling. The demo was 1 sept 2020 and today is 15 Sep. I have been emailing Zack, his reply was he will contact me when he has someone lined up to do the job. On Sunday I emailed Showcase in Wilmington and got a response from them saying it would get fixed and someone would call me Monday. Low and behold the Fayetteville office calls me on Monday at 1000 asking if I could meet them at 1200 for a pre-construction meeting. My husband was there so he met Daniel NOT Zack, I did say to the Wilmington office if Zack cannot take care of the problem then get someone who can. We will be letting you know what happens. Poor business management, they should of had a crew ready to go when they got the 1600.00. It was for a mold removal. Now we have another environmental hazard going on with a hot and humidity bathroom and bedroom and roaches coming in. They had the nerve to ask if they could put a sing in the yard. read more

If i could give this company zero stars i would. Not only did they use substandard sub-contractors for repairs after our house flooded, they took over 12 weeks to start on the project. They placed all of our household items inside of a leaking storage pod in our driveway for that entire time as well. They had my family sleeping on air mattresses on bare concrete floors with no septic caps over the toilet connection and 2 days into being on the job they removed our second toilet, leaving us with no bathroom facilities. ALL OF THIS WHILE OUR PROJECT MANAGER TOOK A VACATION IN IRELAND! Needless to say We fired them. Now Here we are going on 4 months and our stuff is still in the storage pod and they are refusing to pay for any damages they caused and stuck us with the storage bill. When we try to contact them they ignore us and never get back to us. We have shown them full proof of said damages and they brush it off. Telling us they will not cover but a handful of items and the rest is "fine". No consideration for my asthmatic son and the fact that all of his toys and furniture are destroyed. I wouldnt trust them to cut my grass if i supplied the tools to do so. Absolutely trash company to deal with. Look elsewhere at all costs! Dont end up stuck in the situation we are now in. read more

My fiancé and I are SO grateful for this company. They bent over backwards to help get our house fixed while I was out of town and my fiancé is deployed. I will not use this company again. They replaced our roof in 2013. During that time, their workers left ladders standing up against our house during a severe storm (after they left for the day), their tools, some of which rather dangerous, were scattered all over the yard, their lunch trash was all over our yard, and one of their workers DEFACATED in my yard! Yes, he pooped in my yard! We had to call them back to come clean up their mess and render their work space in a safe condition until the next morning. But, it gets better. A year and a few months later, we discovered that there was severe water damage in the ceiling and drywall, due to nails that were left exposed. Needless to say, we called them to fix their poor workmanship. It took multiple calls to get the company to respond to the concern, and multiple times I was told that "someone will be there," when no-one showed up - three different days we were waiting all day - because they can't give you a more precise time frame to expect their roofing person to show up - and no-one came. Three times the contractor who had to do the drywall repairs did not show up as promised. I will only recommend this company to someone who will be satisfied with poor workmanship and even worse customer service. read more

Had a fire in one of my rental houses. Almost before the fire was out Showcase restoration had someone at the house with a fancy brochure full of information on their services. Called a few days later and met with two representatives at the fire scene to go over the damage. One person, Brandon, stated they would call me later in the week and give me an estimate. After waiting a week and two days I called and spoke with Brandon, he did not seem to remember me and after getting my address he stated he would call back in ten minutes. After two hours I called back and was told he was in a meeting but if I would leave my email he would send me the estimate. After waiting another day I called and was transferred to Brandon but he would not answer his phone. After a few minutes the same lady I spoke with the previous day got on the phone and made another excuse for him but again asked for my name and email and said that she could send me the information. She checked the file and could find no information on me or my residence. Needless to say, I am glad i did not commit to spend thirty to forty thousand dollars with these people for repairs.
