My wife and I were looking to short sell our home in Pacific Grove, CA. Although I knew many attorneys in the area, we were referred to Jean because of her excellent reputation in this area of law. We met with her personally and we spoke with her many times by telephone. Prior to speaking with Jean, our lender did their absolute best to intimidate us over a long period of time. Jean, much to our delight, contacted the lender directly and in short, set them straight on our legal rights and the direction we planned to take. Bottom line (and in legal terms): she told them to go pound sand. Jean set them straight in terms of their contact with us and that harassment, in any form, wouldn't be tolerated. In the end, and because our lender denied all short sale offers, and left without alternatives, we decided to foreclose. I was referred to Jean by my real estate agent. He told me Jean is specialized in real estate laws. I went to Jean at 3:30 which she agreed to see me from our email. When I got to the office, someone named Joe called her, she told Joe she double booked her appts for the day. I sat there and waited for her to get off the phone with Joe. She finally got off the phone and I told her about my situation. I have a condo that is way under water, I wanted to know whether I should do a short sale or just walk-away (foreclosure). Jean asked me how many loans I have for this condo, I said 3 loans.
