The first thing you notice when you arrive is that the Shirdi Temple of Montebello is not in the greatest area, almost shady if you ask me. I was run almost run over twice crossing the street. The second thing you notice is that available street parking is little to none (can't park in the small alley next to the temple, you will get a citation). Sometimes you will get lucky and catch someone leaving to snag their spot. Beware, people can get super competitive for parking spots. The inside of the temple and shrine rooms are nicely maintained. Poojas can get crowded so get ready for pushing and shoving, but, that's expected so its ok. Poojas are conducted in mostly Telugu and some Marathi. Most people bring prasad to be blessed and distributed amongst the people in attendance after the religious procession. If you can't make Indian food, you can bring some fruits or water cases. Though the insides of the temple are well kept (minus the bathrooms, they are kinda gross, I'd suggest you hold it till you get home or find a nearby fast food place), the outside is not so nice. Make sure you wear shoes.

Come on guys. I have to give this place a 5 star rating. Honestly this murthi of Shirdi Sai is effectively a replica of the one in Shirdi itself. Another secret you probably didn't know is that the same sculptor that formed the Shirdi Sai murthi sculpted this one as well. They brought it on a ship and it is a Shirdi Sai miracle that this came here safely! This is practically a Shirdi in the USA. And we are blessed and happy to have a Shirdi here right in LA. Come on a Thursday evening and take some maha prasadam with you. Also bring some sweets, Baba loves peda. There has been a change in management and these guys have been doing a great job. They recently opened a room to help with management of donations and it is very accessible for the temple staff.

From the pillars and domes to the smallest decorative details, there is something beautiful to notice everywhere. The spacious grounds and lotus-shaped reflection pond add to the peaceful and uplifting atmosphere. More importantly, this is an active place of worship that offers a quiet space for prayer and reflection. Visitors should remove their shoes where required and respectfully follow the guidelines regarding silence and photography. The entire complex is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff and volunteers are courteous, welcoming and always available to answer questions about the Mandir, Hindu traditions or visitor etiquette. Shayona is also worth visiting before leaving. It offers vegetarian meals along with a huge collection of Indian sweets, dry snacks, namkeen and other packaged foods. The food is great quality, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient. A beautiful place to experience faith, Indian culture, extraordinary craftsmanship and community in Southern California.

Tucked away beautifully in the mountains, the natural surroundings immediately bring a sense of calm the moment you arrive. The architecture is breathtaking--the Gopuram (temple tower) is intricately and beautifully carved, making you feel as though you've been transported straight to India. Inside, the temple is split between the upper and lower levels, housing beautifully maintained idols of Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Shiva, and various Goddesses. The atmosphere is deeply spiritual; the priests perform the rituals wonderfully, and hearing the chanting of the Vedic mantras adds a powerful, divine energy to the space. A few practical highlights: Parking & Facilities: Parking is completely free and accessible, and the restrooms are exceptionally clean. Cafeteria: They have a fantastic cafeteria on-site offering delicious Indian snacks and hot coffee--perfect for a quick bite after your darshan. Whether you are looking to pray or simply want to appreciate the incredible architecture and serene mountain views, this temple is a beautiful sanctuary. Highly recommended! Note: Dress code applicable and have to remove shoes and enter the temple.

It's a SMALLER Hindu Temple with beautiful architecture, do don't expect it to a big temple that you will spend a few any hours there 1 hour is definitely enough for you to walk around and check them out. You have to take off your shoes upon entering the outdoor Temple. The last time I went, there was no fee to enter and no parking fee to the temple. (I read recent visitors got charged and a $10 parking fee so call them first to find out). The temple could also be close for a special events, so do plan ahead accordingly. Take the 10 West all the way down. It's about 25 miles out from the beginning of PCH on the 10 W.
