The massage itself was decent, but incomplete for a one-hour service. When it was time to turn over, she skipped massaging my feet, hands, and the front of my legs entirely. Most of the focus was only on my back. The facial was also very underwhelming for a one-hour facial. There were no extractions, no explanation of the products or process, and overall it felt very basic and rushed. What really left a bad impression was at checkout. Despite already tipping $10 -- which I felt was generous considering the incomplete service -- the therapist actually tried to pressure me for an additional $10 tip. Cons: - The privacy here is practically nonexistent. The curtains are so light (and slightly see through!) that they open up like the Red Sea whenever someone passes. Also customers and staff open up the curtains like someone is not still naked in there getting a massage. - Since it's an open space with just a loose curtain to separate the beds, you hear everything that other people talk about, like staff talking to their friends/customers about previous customers. The massages I've gotten are super super intense. Could be a good or bad thing. I don't think they know how to massage lightly because when I ask them to massage lighter, the masseuse does it for a minute before she goes back to the same amount of pressure as before.

Just last weekend, I got a 60-minute massage and a 30-minute foot massage and it was everything I needed. The music is tranquil and the vibe is chill! The only two issues I have is the rooms are not private as the walls don't go to the ceiling and there is no door to the room, only a sheet. The folks that work there can be heard in the back talking among themselves, which doesn't always provide a relaxing atmosphere. There are no frills here - no robes, no slippers, no doors (there are drywall partitions and curtains for privacy). What is here is a group of very nice, very attentive massage "therapists" who bring a passion and expertise to kneading out knots of tension. I use massage as part of a pain management plan. I generally go about 2-3 times a month especially during the coldest months of winter, an expense that would be painful to manage at traditional spa rates. Thankfully I've found two no frills massage spots that practice traditional Asian bodywork and I couldn't be happier. ZSS is my go to spot in Brooklyn - it's a little less nice than my favorite midtown spot, but the prices are right, the staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgable, and the facilities are clean. This hidden gem resides above La Bagel Delight on Court Street on the second floor. No appointment necessary. Manage you're expectations and skip it entirely if you're into frills (no need to talk about your disappointment if you know from the jump this isn't the atmosphere you're looking for).
