My wife and I stopped at Shuler Meats on our way home from the Charlotte Airport. We had many guests planned for the weekend so we picked up: porterhouse steaks, five pounds of hamburger, hot dogs, thick bacon and breakfast sausage. Nothing fancy to see here, just a really good price on all of your butcher shop needs! They are located right off of Business 85 near Lexington and Thomasville. You can go in there and get bacon, bologna, and chicken..or whole beef tenderloin, tilapia, or rabbit! They also have specials that include all kinds of packets for a seriously discounted price. They have things precut and wrapped out for purchase or they will cut the meat to your specifications. I only buy meat from them, no more Food Lion for us! They will also order things for you if you ask. Don't forget to check out the deli section in the back too, meats and cheeses at much better quality than Oscar Meyer. Check them out! read more

Shuler meats is located just off of Business 85 close to Thomasville area. This is your old school style butcher shop. Shuler has been in business for a long time, they sell commercially to a lot of local restaurants, some national chains, plus they have a nice store that is open to the public. The meat here is great quality for a very nice price. The selection is good, and if they dont have what you want they will customize an order to fit your needs. They make their own slaw, and chili here which is great. They have a deli area for sliced meats and cheeses. You can buy hamburger meat in bulk, or pre-made in patties in the freezer section, by the case. Let me tell you.. the frozen burgers are some of the best you can get. Awesome taste and they are packed right here. Same goes for their breakfast sausage. They have their own house brand in bulk, and other brands by the case that you can also spot in a popular fast food chain. All top quality products. The selection of chicken is second to none. Any cut, any size, you name it, they have it. Again the freezer section is not to be frowned upon.. The spicy chicken breast is indeed some good stuff. Frozen veggies also available by the bulk. Same great quality. They have pre packed deals, and specials posted. In the back is also their own house brand of seasoning. Be sure to try some. Once you try this place out the grocery stores look pale in comparison. All in all I would highly recommend this place. I have never been disappointed with a purchase here. read more

I went there to purchase a standing rib roast or prime rib. As I walked around the store I was treated like more of a nuisance than a customer. Some employees were so deeply engaged in speaking Spanish to each other they didn't even address me as existing, while another group of three employees couldn't help me because they were too busy speaking to one another behind the deli counter. Placed an order 30 days in advance and put down a deposit for a dressed piglet, with head and feet removed, with a promised weight of 75lbs. Called twice prior to pick up to ensure my order was ready and was told it would be ready when I arrived. When I got to Shuler's to get the pig, I was told the smallest pig they currently had was 125 lbs and not only would I now have to pay for an aditional 50lbs of pork, but I would have to wait while they dressed it. I will not be ordering *anything* from Shuler meats in the future. Very disorganized, extremely poor customer service, and absolutely no follow through with what they promise their customers. read more

This is an excellent place to shop, if you are a common sense person that appreciates quality and good prices. I have done business here for 20+ years, so I can attest to the fact Shuler Meats can not be beat on fresh cuts of meat. I have ordered whole hogs, as Angela G. did below. I have never, ever experienced any of the negative issues she claims to have experienced. Sure, Shuler's can get busy, just be an adult about it and have some patience. Poor company. Crooks. Would not do business with them. Owner and Tom Fulcher do not keep word. Truck had incident and caused damage to my car. Tom said he would cover it. When contacted, said he changed his mind and was not liable. Poor character converts over to poor business practices. Will have my day in court. read more
