A cute town and a cute little shop. It was a Sunday so unfortunately they were not making cheese so there was nothing to view in the cheese plant next door. We perused the shop that had more than just cheese - there was liquor and other goods to be had. The old wood walk-in cooler was a nice piece of history. The staff was very friendly. My fiancé and I were out road tripping and stopped at the Shullsburg Creamy and purchased a plethora of cheeses. We bought pepper jack, baby Swiss, aged cheddar, blueberry white cheddar chunks, cheddar and bacon, cheese curds, blue cheese, and buffalo style cheese curds. I've heard of Shullsburg cheese in Iowa so when I found out I could get a route that would take me by their store front I jumped at the chance. They have so much cheese here and it's delicious. The people are very nice and helpful and it really does seem like there is cheese for any appetite! I'd definitely recommend coming through if you're close! read more

Who doesn't love a good cheese shop? The cheese sold here makes me proud to be from Wisconsin! They have a large and affordable selection, If you are in the Shullsburg area you should stop by to sample. You will not leave the store empy handed. There are actually three connected stores here on Main St: The Creamery, the Cheese and Wine shop at 210, and a café, at 212. I came here to check out the cheese shop. It's a pretty small space, so there are fewer choices than the Giles Cheese place west of here. But Schullsburg has a quaint historic downtown, with a few empty storefronts and not a lot of activity on a weekend afternoon. But I did find some good values in their "catch-all" or sales bin, like a big chunk of Swiss for about $5.00, and a good 8 0z. of a garlic and herb Brick for $1.99. The cheese case has most of the standards you'd expect to find in a Wisconsin cheese shops. There are also many over-priced condiments such as $8.00 jars of jams and preserves. Wine is available though I did not price it. The adjoining café is very cozy and attractive, and by all reports has great breakfast and lunch offerings. With antique and gift shops and lodging nearby, you could spend a nice afternoon here poking around. read more
