Dr.Youell's nearly 50 years of experience showed in his person-ability and attention to detail. After bloodwork and a kidney biopsy, Dr.Youell was able to diagnose her with CKD caused by a very rare autoimmune disease and put together a treatment plan with consistent monitoring and follow-up by Cassandra on his team (Which is incredible also). Shamika from phlebotomy is a ray of light every time! God has used Dr.Youell and his team to bring about a miracle in my wife's health, it's a long journey but we're blessed to be in such good hands. He explains the plan to me. His staff does the pre visit vital signs. They have many appointment reminders via text, phone call and email. You can have small procedures done in the office such as ultrasounds and biopsies. Labs are not performed in the office. They will send you with orders for that. My prescriptions are always correct. They send them to the correct supplier. Parking is a small lot behind the building. I've never had trouble finding a spot. There is an elevator to get to the 2nd floor. The stairwell will lead you outside- so that's not recommended. My insurance includes his office, so that is another reason why I go there. I would recommend him.

Let me start off by saying that when you have cancer it is never easy, but everyone here really tried to do their best to treat us with respect, care and professionalism. There is not much these people can do to change your circumstances but they do try to make their part as painless as possible. Dr. Mekhail's administrative assistant, Teri, is incredible. She keeps a thousand balls up in the air at once and never drops one of them. She comes to the phone when you call, she sets up all of your appointments for their office as well as for scans and blood work or any other testing done outside of their office. She has incredible follow through and she knows who you are when you call or come in. Thank You Teri. Dr. Mekhail's nurse and now part of the protocol research team is Tammy. During the first few appointments Tammy showed such kindness, patience, grace and offered us so much comfort that we will be eternally grateful. She was also full of information and little tips of how to deal with what was going to be happening. Thank You Tammy. In the chemo room a special thank you to Robert and Mel and there was one other woman, a black woman who I apologize - I don't know her name, who treated my friend with such tenderness and warmth AND expertise. You all made the rigors of chemo palatable. Thank you. There are times you will wait. They are incredibly busy. My friend grew impatient at the wait at times, understandably so, she was usually in pain, exhausted, nauseous and anxious. For me, sitting in the chair next to her, I understood the waits. So, There but for the grace of God go I, if I were diagnosed with cancer tomorrow would I go to the Cancer Institute of Florida? Yes, I would. Thank you all for your care during a difficult time.

The overall standard of care that I've received has always been pretty good. I've never really had a bad experience. My mother has also come to this facility (as I believe so has my brother). We've all really had good experiences here. I went in last week for a quick consult before a routine endoscopy that I'll be receiving later this month. The doctor was kind, patient, and explained everything thoroughly to me. She went over my expectations/tasks as a patient to prepare for the endoscopy. I felt seen and heard. I left the office very confident that I would be in trusted hands. As far as the facility itself goes, it is a bit more outdated in comparison to some newer facilities; however, for the most part, it has a decent amount of seating. It is usually ALWAYS packed / busy. So, parking can get a little full; however, there is on-street parking all around. The facility is as clean as one can expect of any facility, really. All in all, I definitely appreciate the care I've received here and will continue to go here for any of my GI needs.

Specialists include Breast Surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Urogynecology, Hematology, and Physical Therapy. Some other health related services coming soon are Heart Care, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, and Spine Care. I'm not one who loves going to the doctor or shifting my schedule around at work for a bunch of doctor appointments; however, I've had no issues working with staff to coordinate an appointment for my specific needs. What's really great about this location is that if your doctor orders up bloodwork during your visit, staff can perform the bloodwork on the first floor and they can usually get you in right away. The health park is very new and it is kept spotless. There is also a coffee shop on the first floor if you need a pick-me-up while you wait or on the go. Another great thing about this location is there is an emergency room right next to this building, so if you are having an emergency you don't have to go far. All-in-all, I recommend this new facility. If you are in need of any services noted above, this might be the place for you.
