The best part is you can prebook your classes and see if anyone else in the sauna at the time you want. I personally like to avoid being in the sauna with someone else so being able to see who else has pre-booked is huge. The workouts are hard but also offer recovery elements which is another perk. Becky is the instructor for the group reformer pilates class that I take. Two words - LOVE IT! I actually look forward to going. The class size is small, the instructor Becky is actively engaged in making sure that you are doing it right, and understands how to modify the moves if you need an accommodation. When the pandemic hit, they offered online classes and then, before they were able to open full studio sessions, they started offering 1:1 Pilates sessions. I signed up right away and met Lisa. When regular classes started to be available, I realized that 1:1 is best for me due to some physical limitations that vary week to week. Lisa and I have continued to work together weekly ever since. She is great at adapting to my body's needs each week. I love that I have this consistent workout each week and that Lisa and I get to spend another hour together.

If you've never been to a barre class, I recommend checking…read moreout your nearest Pure Barre and if you happen to live even remotely close to Naperville, I recommend you go to this one. I used to go to Pure Barre in Texas, but I ended up taking an almost two year hiatus because my schedule got a little bit to hectic to commit. Now that I have some flexibility, I booked a class at this Pure Barre and headed in. The classes have been exactly what I was used to, but they're also different which is what I love about PB. You know what you're getting into once you've been to one class, but classes are just different enough each time that it never gets boring. So far I've only taken classes with Carly and she's really great! She stays on top of the whole class and ensures that everyone is using proper technique. Don't worry if you've never taken a class before, the instructors won't single you out, they'll come over to you privately and help you to find the right pose/posture. The owner, Kristy, is also a gem. She's super friendly and very welcoming to everyone. The one thing that really sticks out to me about this studio over others that I've been to, is class size. I used to have to workout really early or at lunch to avoid being in a packed to the brim class in Texas (they did end up opening a second location so I'm sure that alleviated some of the congestion), but this Naperville location is perfect. So far I've only gone to the 9:30am classes during the week, but they really aren't packed. I never feel like I'm trying to define my own personal space in this studio. If you want to try a new workout that isn't crazy intense on your body, but will still be challenging and changing... this is the workout for you! It's a great change of pace from yoga with the faster pace of Pilates. And this studio is top notch!

I have no idea how the owner/instructor has managed to attract such amazing teachers - but her business expanded a lot in the last 2 years and she needed more people - fortunately every one is great. The vibe is very friendly and supportive but rigorous. Everyone encourages each other. By rigorous i mean the instructors help you do the move correctly so you benefit from it - whether mat class, reformer, or other apparatus - doing it right makes you stronger, more flexible and minimizes the chance of injury. Modifications are always there for people who don't can't do an exercise the "standard" way for a range of reasons. MBS is very beginner friendly but great for advanced people too. Some advanced classes will really kick your butt if you want/need that.

I do have to say the view from the pilates studio was GREAT. It over looks the river, really relaxing. I was new to mat pilates and the group i sat in with seemed to be a little more advanced. I felt i didn't get the detailed instructions like remembering to keep my spine imprinted to the mat. little details that would have helped. I thought it was weird that they didn't have a formal changing area. Its a small room to put your things with a curtain but the curtain opens up to the studio. Its a beautiful studio I am currently a member at LifeTime fitness and they have a studio. If I lived closer to Geneva I would consider taking classes there.

I have also had private instruction with Ben, which I highly recommend, if you want to focus on areas of concern.
