I have back massages fairly regularly for an ongoing problem but I will not be returning to the Shirley Massage Centre; do not be fooled by the very professional looking website. I arrived early and assumed the lady there was a previous client getting ready to leave - wrong. The lady was occupied by her mobile phone and did not hear me arrive (there was nobody on the reception desk) when she noticed me she asked me for payment up front then told me to get ready. It's a good job that I'm not too precious about my body as there are no towels or sheets for you to cover yourself and you are totally exposed. I was not asked if there were any particular areas to be concentrated on and off she went without using oil or introducing her hands to my back. Because there was no oil my skin was being pinched, which was quite painful and I had to stop her. I asked her if she was going to use oil and she said that not everybody likes it, which is no reason not to ask me. There was no way that this woman has been trained in massage and I have no idea what Original Point Massage is as no discussion took place about anything. When my time was up I got dressed but she did not leave the room so again, good job I'm not particularly bothered. A weird experience with poor service and I will not recommend or return.

Thereafter, during the full body scrub and spa treatment, I felt it was a rushed affair with the 60 minute session completed in 50 minutes, towards the end I felt the masseuse was falling short of enough oil to massage and it was almost dry and I had to remind her that she has left out the abdominal area. I also kept requesting for increased pressure during massage but it just wasn't enough! On constant reminder that my package included a bath soak, my masseuse kept refusing and later the receptionist confirmed that she had forgotten to inform the masseuse. I was later compensated by a joint soak with my husband where we were crammed up in a corner bathtub so neither of us enjoyed the soak and eventually were left feeling rather disappointed than rejuvenated. :( I hope the team works more diligently on customer service.

She really spent a decent amount of time on each area, and used just the right amount of force. The full body massage really was 'full body' which included feet and neck, as some places don't. She uses base oils rather than almond oils, in case people have nut allergies. Also I was offered a hot drink or glass of water at the end.
