This is the best Thai place in the area - dine in or takeaway. I love their chicken paad thai, chicken curry puffs and spring rolls

The service is impeccable and the staff, some of the best in town. Never has there been a time where I've gone to Thai At Grovely and felt I was being rushed out or thought that the food was not as good as the last time I visited. When I go here, I make sure I invite some friends so they too can spread the word. For me nothing beats, for starters, the chicken satays skewers. The chicken is so moist and plump and the sauce is so viscous and chock full of peanut. For mains I always order the green chicken Curry. Its served with fresh vegetables and the meat is always tender and never overcooked. Love this place and you will too.

The place itself is modern and comfortable, not busy at all when I visited (a Saturday night). The menu was divided into soups, salads, chef specials, curries, stir-fries, noodles and rice as well as vegetarian options. New to Thai dishes and not keen on spicy dishes, I opted for pork pad thai with chicken skewers for entree. The food didn't take long at all which was great. The chicken skewers were accompanied with a delicious peanut sauce; I definitely recommend it. The pad thai was large, with a side of salad, sprinkled with nuts and a generous amount of pork. It was full of flavour and quite filling however a tad salty for my personal taste. In saying that, I left satisfied and couldn't finish my plate due to the portion size.

Past the makeshift counter, you can see directly into the kitchen where the cooks prepare meals with a relaxed and carefree smile. Don't worry, its all good. If there's one thing that I've learned about Thai restaurants and takeaways, it's never judge the establishment by the way it appears. When I first arrived, my initial though was, I knew it was too good to be true. It was only that afternoon when my wife and I oow'd and ahh'd over a new thai menu found in our letterbox. We'd tried everything around the area and were happy to find a new place to indulge in. We ordered and were told our pick up would be ready in twenty minutes. This was great. When served at the counter, I was told that our food would be another five minutes. This was forgivable. When the plastic containers came out, steam building in the transparent containers, I took notice of the vibrant colours of the curries and warm beef salad we had ordered. That was reassuring. Arriving at home and opening our dinner, we were surprised that there was a genuine fresh look to the meals. The aromas themselves indicated that our meals hadn't been taken from some big pot of premade food. Compared to similar takeaways Chinpala Kitchen, doesn't serve as much, but makes it up in pure contentment through oral satisfaction.

Thankfully, in these neck of the woods Amazing Thai is just one of those places. If you've planned ahead you can pick up on your way home and faster than you can get into your jim jams you're eating freshly made meals like Pad See Ew (pick your protein - beef, chicken, pork or seafood) and a perfectly sweet and sour Massman Beef Curry.

Brilliant, whoever came up with those names, I love it. So when I was puttling around the northside of Brisbane, didn't even know that there was a suburb called Gaythorne by the way, and when my boyfriend now husband at the time told me, I actually asked him if he was joking. True story. So being fans of the Thai cuisine, I was out to search for a mean Pad Thai, my weakness. Always with chicken. Amazing Thai sits perfectly on the corner of Samford and Gaythorne road. The owner is this cute little Thai lady who really does do everything. There are a few wait staff sometimes, but the shop isn't that big and they can get away with just 1 or 2 extras on busy nights. The Money Bags in this place was my first experience. The water chestnuts, the minced chicken meat, the crunchy fresh ingredients wow. Then we had the Pad Thai, a Green Curry with Chicken and a Beef Stirfry. There is a difference between throwing things into a mess together and frying them at a high heat to throwing the ingredients at the right times to make the perfect flavour and combination. Amazing Thai do serve amazing food. The food tastes fresh, tastes quality and tastes like Thailand. You can usually get a table here, but on a busy night, try making a booking first as the restaurant only seats a small amount of people. True to their name, gold star all the way.

You'll find it tucked behind Avanti and next door to Mundo Churrasco. I haven't dined in before, however it's royal purple and marigold theme looks warm and inviting. I like it's humble position and dinner settings. My recommendations from the take away list are the salt and pepper quail ($8.30 for 2), and the golden parcels ($8.30 for 5). The golden parcels are delicious balls of beef, water chestnuts, potato and onion. They're not overpowering, but they are subdued flavoursome morsels. I'm a sucker for thin Thai soups. The Tom Kha is sweeter than the Tom Yum but is just as hot. They're both $8.30 for a small size. There's a flavour explosion in each spoonful. Watch out for the mains. It seems that all of the curries are made to be hot. You can ask for them to be made mild, but I would still approach with caution. I find The Green Mango a little exxy for take away, but it's satisfying and they do the classic dishes well. The service is always quite friendly. Next time you're thinking you don't want to cook, I'd suggest looking The Green Mango up. They deliver to nearby suburbs for $6 extra.

The ladies are lovely, they suggest some great dishes if you're brave and want to stray from your usual (if you have a usual, mine is Pad Thai). I tried the larb gai here and it tasted pretty nice, just the right amount of lemony zest and spicy something something to give it the kick it needed, was much impressed I've got to say. The Pad Thai (yes, we ordered it anyway) was pretty nice, wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was very tasty... too sweet I think for my taste. The prices are usual, $15-$20 for your main, plus drinks, and they do have their own parking, but during busy dinner times it is 1) hard to turn into from the busy road and 2) gets full pretty quickly.

It was well sauced, the noodles were well done and they put some filling in the noodles. My friend A ordered the Massuman curry and that too, she said 'mmmmm this is really nice! Well, new owners, a fancy refit and some of the tastiest food I've had in a while are just 3 good reasons to give Thai on Ferny Way a go. While there are better Thai restaurants (there are MULTIPLE lists naming them) for a suburban option this is a cracker of a spot. With plenty of off street parking, a really well stocked and reasonably priced bar and a HUGE selection of food to choose from, including some Thai classics if you are looking for a lovely easy night out this is the spot for you. I've tried a few of their dishes now and have to say their soups and salads are amazing and I can't wait to give more of their curries a try as well. I love their curry puffs (so creamy and melt in your mouth) and for those of you that are duck fans, there are a few different duck choices (the duck salad, was crisp, tasty and so moreish). These guys have also embraced delivery (limited area) and take away so those nights that you can't crawl out of your winter warm comfort clothing (ie tracksuit) you can order ONLINE and it's on it's way to your door. I'll definitely be back and would consider this guys a great take away (or even eat in) option.
