When I booked the appointment I was told I could get a ride back to work, however, when I dropped my car off no staff was around to give me the ride. No apology. When I picked up the car, the internet was down (not their fault) so they asked me to come back when it was on so they could flash it. When I returned the next day they flashed it, but said they needed to complete one more part of the installation that required the user manual. I did not have the user manual on me (no one mentioned they would need it). No apology - in fact the manager worded it so the blame was on me for not having it. Came back the next day with the manual. They looked at my car and the manager told me the last part of the installation they were trying to do would not work with my starter unless I bought some extra parts for $40. He said "No one saw it coming", and again no apology. They install car starters - how could they have never seen this Canadian Tire model? I left. I'm unhappy with the manager. He didn't try to make it right and he never apologized or took accountability for any of it. I paid $270 to have it installed, he should have written off the $40 to finish the job correctly. I'd rather pay someone else triple to complete the rest.

To make matters worse I had forgotten my wallet and did not have any change in my truck. Trying to think off who might be able to help I visited Car Nation first where I had purchased a Mustang only months earlier and nobody was able to help. Dom at Car Nation suggested I go to Unique and see if they could assist. When I arrived 3 sales staff were working, 2 women and 1 gentleman. The ladies ( and I wish I could remember their names but they know who they are) were very friendly and went to work to see how they might help. When she came back it was a group decision they were going to "Pay it Forward" with $20 to assist me. Needless to say, I was ecstatic and very relieved. They handed me a $20 bill and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving Day of which I returned the same. I would like to thank the staff on that day for their kindness and it restored my faith in humanity that in Ontario there are still good people whom have compassion because my experience since I moved back from Alberta that that has not been the case because of the pace of life in this sea of humanity. While my wife's car is a 2015, I'm driving a 2005 and Barton Rad has got me through another winter! Their honesty and integrity are priceless. I once thought I had an electrical problem. Dave "fixed" it in seconds (a flick of a switch). No charge and no raised eyebrows as per my lack of due diligence before I brought the car in. They are the best.
