Nothing special but nothing bad. Prices are slightly higher since it's a tourist town. Easy to find and not far from anything else, so that helps. Sid's was very useful during our recent trip to Long Beach. Need beer? They've got a small but decent selection of microbrews. Need a picnic for a hike? Grab some slices of Tillamook, some sausage sticks, some crackers, and stuff them into some sandwich bags. For dessert, have a granola bar. Want some decadent ice cream for your hotel room? This grocery closes at 9. The whole store, not just the deli. That's so strange. I was in there at 850 and they were giving me dirty looks. I guess I was just surprised they closed so early on a Friday night in a tourist town. Since there are no other grocery stores in this town, I guess if you need to buy something at night after work you're just out of luck. It seems like they'd be open 24 hours like every other grocery store in the world, especially since there is no competition. They already charge way above average prices. Moved here shortly before they were bought out. Maybe different now. Had shopped there 3 times, paying cash twice, and by check once. The checkout fellow refused to let me use a LOCAL check, as did the manager. (Sid's was associated with a different local bank, at least then; don't know if that was the reason..." Rather than the manager calling my bank to verify that my money is indeed good, he insisted I go get "cash" and said he would hold my filled cart in his cooler area since I had delicatessin items. Had to wait over an hour at my bank for the manager to be available, and near frantic because my dog had just been diagnosed with probable cancer, I complied to purchase my cartful of items. I heard my bank manager ask Sid's manager 3 times, "And what is wrong with OUR check??" So I was able to come back to pick up my items at Sid's, but they were not (temperature) cool as in "cooler-kept" but of warmish ambient temperature and very noticeably less high in the cart, as though quite a number of items were missing. Sid's manager refused to let me review the items off the original sales slip to verify they were there.....so I left. Haven't rolled the tires of my truck onto their pavement since. And that, after the elderly checkout cashier had originally said, "If only one person could verify here that your check is good from a previous time"... and there was indeed a cashier who could, a nice female, but when I approached her, he told me, "Oh, WE don't trust HER!" read more

Stopped here to grab a few things to make breakfast. We wanted frozen sausage but found EVERYTHING in the frozen aisle was actually partially thawed. And I mean everything! Yikes! Skipped that - don't need to get sick. Who knows how long it was like that? Was grabbing some wine and saw the Black Box wine. I've heard decent things about it (for being an inexpensive wine) so grabbed a small box. After we were back at our motel room, and I already opened the wine I noticed it had expired back in August! Lastly, the checker (Chris) told us exactly how he mixes Redd's Wicked Ale with his 40's and throws them in the back of his truck so he's never out. Um, really? In the five minutes that it took him to ring us up, he must have thrown about 3 f-bombs out. Either this place is the most chill store in the world or the owner doesn't give a crap about professionalism. Go somewhere else! read more

As a full-time resident on the Peninsula I've been shopping at Sid's for years. Sid's is what it is, a smaller store that caters to both tourist and resident's grocery and liquor needs. It does that well. They clearly treat their employees well as much of the staff has been their for years. I've never had a bad experience. read more

Nice local grocery with a great deli and wine selection. Dairy section was cold and items were fresh. It's only natural that a small grocery would be more expensive, their cost of goods are more expensive since they don't buy in the huge quantities like a Walmart or Fred Meyers so quit gripping about that. We all appreciate that small businesses are there for us when and where we need them so patronize them and don't gripe about prices! read more

Our family has been coming down to a cottage at Long Beach every summer for almost 30 years now and our first stop in town is to pick up groceries at Sid's. Seaview is a small town and Sid's is a smallish market, but I have zero complaints. Sure the prices are higher than Seattle, but they are still reasonable for the area and Sid's generally has everything that you need. It's a great little store and I have never experienced some of these other reviewers' complaints about out-of-date milk or unfrozen frozen food. I will be sad the day that we roll into Seaview and Sid's is no longer there, as it is one of our family's fond memories of the peninsula. read more

I am a local and usually shop in Ocean Park but thought I would give Sid's a try.... I wont be back.. I got an ad and found a few items that I liked ground beef on sale for 3.98 .. found the sign and got a pound... then when I was checking out the NICE girl at the check out told me the ice cream bars I had were not the ones on sale.. so I went back and they had stocked a more expensive brand in the spot where the sale ones should have been. She had a stock boy go grab me the one from the back that was the brand that was on sale took about 10 min after he found it which was nice.. BUT why were they not on the shelf?? in place a brand that was 8 bucks! I get home check the receipt the ground beef 6.99 for one pound again placed a different product in place of a sale item !! Grossly overpriced and not a big selection. I went in to get a few toiletries that I had forgotten to pack ($33). When I commented on the exorbitant price, the clerk said "We're in our own world here." I'm all for shopping local instead of the chains, but the locals must earn my business. This appears to be the only grocery store on the Peninsula, so I guess that they can get away with it. read more

The clerks are too familiar, with names like "Honey" and "Sweetie" used at you. I don't like it. I've told them I don't like palaver. Just let me get my groceries, please. One clerk began hugging me every time I walked in. The third time, I had to tell her "The hugs are over." Today she called me "Hon." I am NOT her honey, her sweetie, her sugar pants, whatever. Please get more organic items! It's 2013! I haven't taken a complete inventory but I've only seen organic olive oil and peanut butter. Everything is a generic brand. Not seeing many locally grown fruits and produce either. Other than the Redbox outside and the bin to recycle plastic bags I drive right past it to do my weekly shopping. read more

the only good thing about that place is the service sometimes. prices are way too high and not much selection. the produce is not that great either. plus if you go to Ocean Park about 12 miles north you have two stores that are WAY better.
