If you eat oysters, I highly recommend coming here and going on the farm tour. We learned about how oysters are farmed, including some science and the owner's philosophy behind what it means to be sustainable. I also really appreciated the history of the area and the oyster industry in Washington. Our tour guide was one of the owners and he was friendly and open to taking the tour in the direction that interested us. We learned how to schuck oysters, and most importantly, they were fresh and wonderful. We also had clam chowder and crab, which were both delicious as well. Not a clam chowder I'd like to eat again. It's not very rich. More on the watery side. The dill is not a flavor I enjoy. It's missing richness from butter or Parmesan or something. I'd enjoy smaller pieces of potato. It needs SALT. It was served hot and fast. We got buy one get one free on the chowder because we stayed at worldmark. There is seating outside that's fairly nice. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the view at Oysterville Sea Farms is incredible. There was a long line (Memorial Day Weekend) but the team there was fast and efficient with a smile. The freshest fish and nicest staff in long beach. The clam chowder was creamy yet light. More like a New England chowder. The oysters shined all on their own with a little lemon. Quite small so it was easy to eat a dozen. The sandwiches rounded out the meal to make the most perfect lunch. You can bring your pets out on the patio and enjoy a gorgeous view of the bay. Love this little market! Friendly and welcoming staff. You walk in, order, then sit down at any available table (private tables and communal picnic tables). Great views of the bay. Raw oysters are indeed small, but full of flavor: briney, sweet, and great umami taste. We ordered two dozens, some clam chowder, clams with garlic butter, steamers, and grilled oysters. This place is great! Seafood doesn't get much fresher than this. We had a great experience on the open air deck with amazing views of Willapa bay. I can definitely recommend the steamed clams and the fresh oysters, Both were outstanding. It's counter service only but they bring your food when it's ready. We were disappointed that fresh oysters were not available (Thought we could show up and buy a few dozen for dinner!) On a positive note, the friendly shop does sell some high-quality and interesting treats and gifts, including smoked oysters from the brand Ekoni, and cranberry ketchup from the local cranberry farm, which is a new favorite we tried on turkey sandwiches and scrambled eggs! There is a deck with dining tables and a lovely view of the Willapa Bay if needed, but I would suggest a hike at Ledbetter for that--bring your bug spray. Delicious. Absolutely worth the drive up here for fresh oysters. We got a seafood tower that came with oysters, shrimp cocktail, oyster spread, smoked salmon spread, and crawfish spread. The salmon spread was super meaty, but not too salty as salmon spread can get. It was my favorite hands down. Their pickled herring also packed a punch and of course, the oysters were delicious. We came on a cold January day so it wasn't too busy. There were three other groups sitting outside with us, overlooking the water. Note, there are only porta potty's here. My understanding is that the whole area runs on septic tanks, so plan accordingly if you don't want to use a porta potty. read more

Long Beach is long and the North is less visited than it deserves. The bay is prime oyster farming and has been for a long time. Oysterville itself has just a scattering of historic buildings. A very few bayside oyster farming claims have retail and destination operations. Oysterville Sea Farms is one of the most thriving. The economics of oysters is usually selling to oyster factories like Pacific Seafood https://www.yelp.com/biz/pacificseafood-portland. Oysters are super perishable, they are alive! So many retail oyster farm stores smoke them to preserve them. Visit Oysterville Sea Farms to eat some fresh from the bay shucked oysters along with a beverage of choice, most local beer and wine. They have a bay-side deck with seating to contemplate the sea. In rain they have seating inside. When whole oyster shells go to wholesale shucking by Pacific or retail sale, the small living part attached to the shell is thrown away. Oysterville Sea Farms returns the shells of the oysters you eat as oyster seeds. They have a shop with books, oyster shucking knives, postcards, and touring visitor items. I had an unprompted conversation with staff and they are all about sustainability. They live on it. If you are on Long Beach, Oysterville Sea Farms is one of the few and most solid farm to table opportunities. The staff is solid. They have a good selection of send or take home Long Beach tourist items at a reasonable price. You can buy oyster knives for opening there and I did. The staff showed me how to use them. read more

Wow what a great spot, this place is quite a ways from Ocean Shores, but is definitely worth the stop. They have a collection of souvenirs and things, but the main attraction is that they have a fresh oyster bar and you can sit on the deck and watch the lake that is right at the edge. Unfortunately the second time we were there the oyster bar was closed (COVID!), but hopefully it has reopened now. The real treat is that they have these huge bags of oysters that you can get and bring home to shuck and enjoy. New direction here - less of a seafood store, and more of a 'glass of wine and something to nibble on' place. Like their clamless clam chowder (my experience), or fresh oysters. The refrigerated glass case/counter no longer holds seafood offerings and now displays cold alcoholic drinks. The refrigerated case that used have bags of oysters and local delicacies has been removed and replaced with chairs/tables for patrons to sit at. Lots of local gift ideas. Since moving to the peninsula 18 months ago I've been surveying local chowder. I've tried probably 30 different spots from here all of the way down to Newport. Hands down, this is *the best* I'm super picky. I tend to not like roux thickened chowders as the roux base is frequently under cooked resulting in either lumps, or the distinct flavor of raw flour. Or worse, both. OSF chowder has a cream base and is thick enough to not be watery, but also doesn't blanket the flavor of the ingredients. It was loaded with tender pieces of clam. The soup base is set off with an excellent selection of herbs including tarragon, parsley, and dill. There's a hint of lemon to keep it bright. My mother and I stopped by about a week ago to pick up some oysters for dinner and grabbed a cup to share. It was pure deliciousness and the staff were incredibly friendly. As it was close to the end of the day they sent us home with extra. They have a gorgeous, huge deck out back, and they have a selection of wines. I think a bottle of wine, a dozen oysters, and a couple of bowls of chowder out on that deck with your favorite person would equal a pretty perfect day. read more

I've been visiting Oysterville several times a year for the past 30+ years and have only eaten here once. That ought to tell you something. I love excellent seafood. If Mo's is your idea of good seafood perhaps you should head east to expand your knowledge. Boston (my home town) has several excellent seafood establishments including the Union Oyster House. Paul Revere ate there. Maine and especially Boothbay Harbor has amazing seafood. Oysterville Sea Farms isn't even in the same league. I'm not a huge oyster fan although I do like oyster stew. I might like raw oysters more if there weren't so many health risks in consuming them. I am a huge clam chowder snob and have spent a lifetime in search of the best clam chowder on the planet. The clams were mysteriously absent from the clam chowder I had here. The owner is very unfriendly and crabby. The staff is mostly ok. Young kids who I assume are family members. Service seems slow especially now that people have found this place. The items there are on the pricey side. These days I just stop in to take a few pictures from the deck and then be on my way. Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs. Keep out. Do not enter. Dogs and Sailors keep off the grass. Sigh.... I'm assuming the oysters are fresh and local considering that Long Beach has some of the most fertile oyster beds on the planet. But if you read the labels on some of the other fare you'll see that much of it is was frozen and shipped in from Alaska. Oysterville Sea Farms is one of those places that I really wanted to love when I first stopped in. If you're a tourist you may like the place since it is set up to attract those types of customers. But if you love seafood and are fussy about needing it to be really good seafood, you'll find this place to be disappointing. read more

If in or around Oysterville, you have to visit this spot. It's right on the bay, and the oysters are as fresh as Willapa Bay can make em. It's a lovely storefront with beer on tap, cans of beer, fresh smoked oysters and scallops, and bags and bags of fresh oysters right out of the bay. The clam chowder is really tasty. No heavy cream masking the flavor here. This is a classic fisherman's chowder with hearty potatoes and chopped up steamer clams. The oysters were, as you might expect from the name of the place, divine. There were four of us, and I think we ate 24 oysters total. They'll shuck the safe-to-eat raw ones (this time of year) for you at $2 an oyster. I don't know how that compares to other spots around here, but I can say they were creamy, salty, and perfect for a sunny afternoon. I'm here at a writing residency for all of June, so I know I'll be back. And you should come by too! For a nice snack and sit, it's right on target. read more
