We are in San Diego for a wedding and had heard Mona Lisa had the most authentic Italian food…read more We were so excited to try it out! We got to the restaurant around 8:00 PM on Thursday evening. There were 4 of us and the restaurant wasn't super busy, but our server seemed to have all the tables on her service! The menu is decently extensive with a variety of pastas, pizzas and special dishes. I ordered the Canelloni, one of us got a pizza, one got the veal picatta and one got the spaghetti with burrata. Everything came out piping hot and ready to eat. The big dollop of burrata looked sooooo good! My meal was great - the burnt cheese along the edges was delicious! The pizza was tasty and apparently the veal picatta was delicious, too! They ordered a bottle of the Chianti and said it tasted great. I was going to order an Espresso Martini, but not at $22! Overall, the service was great, the food was authentically delicious and the vibe of the restaurant was nice and chill.

We started with the antipasti, which was fresh, plentiful, and the perfect appetizer. To drink, we ordered the house wine, which honestly drank just like a sweet, refreshing sangria, highly recommended if you like a fruitier profile with your pasta! For the main event, the baked lasagna is a must-try. It's rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor. We also ended up ordering three different pizzas because we couldn't decide: The Works (massively loaded with pepperoni, sausage, onions and mushrooms), the White, and the Vegetarian. The crust holds up beautifully under the toppings, and the garlic profile on the white pie was incredible. Make sure you save room for a cannoli at the end. The shell is perfectly crunchy, and the filling is smooth and creamy. The services was excellent. The waiter was very attentive and made sure our drinks were kept filled.

I stooped in after a a event I went to in San Diego California . This was a nice little Grocery…read more Outlet . Great meat reaction and produce. Frozen section. I did get some lemons cup cakes and little Debbie minni muffins. I mainly stopped to check the store out. Staff was polite and professional. Great prices on some things. If I am back down that way I stop in again. Thank you I do recommend this store.

Hello July!!! I'm a…read morefan of Grocery Outlet and this location is just 10 minutes away from me! So it's definitely going into my regular rotation. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon and there was plenty of parking with a short checkout line. The neighborhood and store are a little worn, but I came for the deals and they did not disappoint. A grocery haul that would've easily cost me around $350 elsewhere was only $150 here. Love me some great savings!!! Bargain shopping at it's finest! The selection was surprisingly good with familiar brands, upscale products, restaurant brands, organic items, vegan snacks, beauty products, household essentials, frozen foods, drinks, and more. It feels like a mix between Costco and Smart & Final. Some of my favorite finds on this day were teeth whitening kits, self-care products, organic produce, frozen fruits and veggies, vegan snacks, superfoods, sparkling water, and energy drinks. The staff was polite and friendly. Just one tip: don't try to take your cart to the parking lot like I did. It locks up and you'll end up carrying your bags back and forth. Lesson learned. Pros: *Amazing prices and savings *Plenty of parking in their private lot *Friendly staff - young lady was a conversationalist and pleasant *Short checkout line *Great mix of name brands, organic, vegan, and household products *Fun "treasure hunt" shopping experience Cons: *Store could be cleaner and more organized *Limited fresh produce *Inventory changes often so favorites may disappear *Check expiration dates on discounted items *Carts don't leave the store...trust me. Overall, you can't beat the savings. I'll definitely be back.

Don't know what I liked most about this place: The food, the owner, or the "Holy Shit! What the…read morehell is a Thai restaurant doing there!" location. After jogging and exploring past this place a few times, I decided it was time to drop in for lunch. I was immediately consumed by that distinct feeling you get when you walk into a lunch place at 12:30, only to find that you're not only the only person to eat lunch there today, but quite possibly the only person to eat lunch there this week. It's a feeling that tells you: "This place is either gonna' be really good, or I'm gonna' need my stomach pumped." As of now, 3 hours after eating there, the contents of my stomach are still very much where they should be. This is a very good sign. The woman who owns the place and greeted me is pretty much exactly the person you'd expect to meet in such an unexpected location -- as friendly as her English is broken, as young as the overdone decor. She'll recommend things when all you want to do is read the menu; she'll talk to you when all you want to do is listen. She won't offer you dessert. Not even a 'happy ending'. But she'll unwittingly demonstrate what is right about City Heights, right about San Diego, and right about America. The Green Chicken Curry was good. The rice was Uncle Ben's. In a Thai place, this should be a crime. In City Heights, this should be expected. But my 5-star enthusiasm for Mekong Village says more about the restaurant's aspirations than for its curry, its character or its decor. With condo conversions sprouting up around it like poop from a diuretic anus, a place like this actually stands a chance -- especially if it dresses itself up a bit for the people who live IN those houses, rather than those who live under them. You never know what will happen with the right marketing. And it's in this vein that the owner really made her impression. She doesn't like the name, she wants to change it, and she asked me for my suggestions. I gave her one. It is fantastic. So crazy it just might work. And she really sounded like she'll take it . So don't be surprised if, on this nondescript corner of 47th and Imperial, you see the name emblazoned in lights: "Imperial Thai Cuisine" You heard it here first.
