Terrible Experience!! I first thought the were great but the follow through of their process is terrible. 1) Went for contacts exam and told them at the time that I wanted glasses as well and that I had to get those thru a special site from my employer/insurance where I got a discounted rate. I was never told that there would be an additional $50 fee to measure my pupil distance if I was not buying glasses from them and that they would not email me a prescription. 2) I got a contact lenses exam and left with a couple of pairs of contacts. (These were daily wear which the doctor just scolded me about wearing daily contacts for more than a day. ) They told me that this was all they had but would order my contacts and have them in by early the next week. This was on a Friday. I had not heard from them by Tuesday so I called Wednesday mid day and found out that they had not been ordered so the young lady said she would order them then and asked me to pay for them. I paid her for the 6 month supply and they were shipped to my house. She said they had no more samples to give me while I waited so I was rinsing the dailies out while waiting. 3) I get the box in early the next week and they were the exact same prescription that I went into the clinic with of which I still had boxes of that I could have worn if they were the right prescription still. I called the office and the person says they dont see a prescription for me and that the doctor is off and he will have her call me tomorrow. The doctor calls me the next day and asks what the issue is. I re-explain the situation and she asks like she has no clue on what I need and asked why I didnt like what I had - I told her that if the ones that I had were working, why would I come to the doctor for a new eye exam and why would she give me a different set of lenses all together? I then read off the information on the box of lenses that she gave me and she said that they would call me back regarding the new order. 4) They call me back at the end of the afternoon to tell me that they have to reorder the new prescriptions from a new company and that I have to return the old ones to them to get a refund. The new ones cost more so I agree to do that without an issue. I asked them to go ahead and order the new ones and that I would take off work and bring the new ones and pick up my eye glass prescription so I can order my glasses. She said no problem. 5) Take off work, go to the clinic, turn in the wrong boxes, pay the difference, remind them that I need my prescription as I need to order from my designated vendor per my employer/insurance plan and they print it out and give it to me. Nothing ever said about the need for me to get a pupil measurement and additional fee. 6) Now a week later I go to order my glasses and entering my prescription to find out that I have to have this measurement to get the glasses and call back and they tell me that I must come back to be measured and it is a $50 fee. This office is ridiculous, the team members don't know what they are doing, you get handed off from person to person, the manager or supervisor person is rude, and the provider does not seem to know what is happening!!! I do NOT recommend them!!! read more

If you value your eyesight and sanity, avoid this optical department at all costs. They managed to botch my prescription the first time, then asked me to come back as though they'd make it right. Instead of owning up to the mistake, they sat me down with a technician who condescendingly explained that the prescription was "correct" and that I was simply looking out of my glasses wrong. Let that sink in -- according to them, the problem wasn't their work, but the way I was using my own eyes. That level of arrogance and incompetence would almost be funny if it weren't so insulting. I then had to incur the cost of getting a re-test at a different optometrist who verified that the Siegmund Eye Care test results were incorrect! And now I am out over $500 for the new glasses I purchased that have the wrong prescribed lenses. Vision care is supposed to be about accuracy, accountability, and patient trust. This department failed on all three. If you want glasses that actually work -- and professionals who take responsibility -- I recommend going absolutely anywhere else. read more

On Wednesday or Thursday of last week, I called Sigmund Eye Care twice in an attempt to get an appointment for an eye exam. The first time, the phone rang at least a dozen times with no answer. I tried again shortly thereafter. This time the phone was answered by voice mail. The message was the nastiest most condescending tirade I ever heard from a professional business. I hung up. Because this place was recommended by my physician, I decided to try once more using the messaging service on their web site. It is now Monday, and I have yet to receive a reply. I'll be calling someone else this afternoon, hopefully with a better business ethic. This guy might be a great optometrist, but I'll never know because he has a lousy staff. My review is based solely on them. Unfortunately his staff is a reflection of him. read more

Been coming here for about 2 years and have always been satisfied with the service! Dr. Siegmund, Earl (optician)and Jeni (office manager)are a great team and they all make it a pleasure to come on in for exams and glasses. All are friendly and helpful and answer all questions as well as give advise on care, cost and insurance assistance. They have all the newest equipment for testing and have a extensive selection of eyewear to choose from. They are located in the Carolina Forest area, so they are easy to reach. An absolute perfect experience from beginning to finish! I made an appointment to see Dr. Siegmund, having never seen him before. He was very approachable, professional, and gave a very thorough eye exam. I am accustomed to seeing nothing but generic and some designer glasses on display. All of his glasses on display are of high end designer lenses at a very good price. Including Bulgari, Gucci, Prada, etc. and it's a very good and diverse selection. Mike was my technician who helped me pick out the frames and set them up for me after they arrived. His service was outstanding and he is truly an asset to the team since he knows exactly what he is doing. Nice guy, as well! If I had negative feedback, it wouldn't be anything different from most eyeglass places... It took about two weeks to receive the frames and the lenses. But it was well worth the wait and I will now be using this office for all of my visual needs. read more

I called and Mike answered the phone. I said I had insurance through eyemed and I would like to make an appointment but first I would like to inquire as to how much it would cost. He said he would do that when I came in. I asked him to do it before I came in. He said usually they do that a couple of days before the appointment. I said good, I will book the appointment for a week away. He actually said "I don't have time to pull everyone's benefits beforehand". Oh well. Anybody that cannot tell me how much something costs does not get my business. read more

I was really impressed with this place, the staff was phenomenal so I just wanted to share my story. So I broke my glasses that were Navy issued and I also needed to update my prescription cuz it was 3 years old. I chose this place randomly and I could not be happier. The optometrist was very professional he was very personal and I think that's great because it builds a bond between the patient and doctor. What really surprised me is the frames sales guy. I'm really bad with names so I think it was Gary. He had me look at a different types of frames, shapes, colors and instead of trying to sell me the more expensive Ray Bands or Versace he went was something that was kind of in the middle which happened to be Coach. He was definitely paying attention to the fact that I was carrying a Coach bag. He was so helpful with finding a pair of glasses that sit right on my face accentuate my cheekbones and also find me a color that actually went in with me and made my eyes pop. Attention to detail is a big deal to me. I really love this place it's just so sad that I have to move to Columbia. read more
