This is really for "Sierra 2 Center for the Arts and Community"- the Neighborhood Association runs it. Okay here's the official dope from the website - because I'm lazy - my review is below. "Sierra 2 Center for the Arts and Community managed by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association, is a charming, vintage stucco building built in 1926 as an elementary school. Sierra 2 is located on three lushly landscaped acres in the beautiful Curtis Park neighborhood within easy reach of midtown and downtown Sacramento. Sierra Green, a neighborhood park, is adjacent to the Center. This historic site was saved from demolition by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA) in 1976. SCNA's members and community volunteers contributed generous time and resources to renovate the school. Together they transformed Sierra 2 into a non-profit center of artistic, cultural and educational activities." My review - Sierra Two is great because it serves as the nerve center and heart of my neighborhood. Last night my wife and I went to a dinner (one of a monthly series) this one hosted by her local workout club - Figure 8. You might think just a few people would show up to a thing like this - but it was packed. Young and old homeowners alike, parents with toddlers in the playground outside, seemed like half the neighborhood showed up. The food was catered, with wine and beer and there was a very nice party atmosphere - all for $5!!! (plus $ for drinks). Talked with friends and also with neighbors we hadn't seen in a while, thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. That was just one example - there are weekend plays at the theater, town halls with our city councilwoman, it's where I vote, there are wine and cheese things, and lots of other neighborhood sort of stuff. My wife said she read somewhere that it is one of the most active neighborhood centers in the US. I can believe it - because it is really cool. There's a bunch of stuff going on - check it out - sierra2.org/schedules/activities.htm

Sadly, I didn't take pictures. Bella Vista Farms is tucked away in the farm fields of Dixon, CA. I would never have known this place was there, except by attending a wedding. There were approximately 100+ people, and they were still able to fit a dance floor and a bridal party table. They had an event tent setup outside to create a lobby area where they served the food, desserts, and open bar. It did get a little wet out there as it was pouring down rain. You have to walk outside to get to the restrooms, so we did get wet. Still a good venue with ample parking. The outside area has string lights, surrounded by tall privacy plants and all white iceberg roses. Very pretty area.

And told me if I had any more complaints or issues to call her personally and please reach out to her after the event. So like that isn't sketchy. Owner Leticia should probably talk to owner Angelina and get their facts straight and their story straight. Please note that I did not have a event venue contract with them, but they were more than happy to take my $450 cash for the beverage service that was never provided. They weren't making me sign a separate contract for that.

Cabana Club gave off a cute and aesthetic tropical vibes and was very on brand with hosting a Love Island Watch Party! The place wasn't as busy as we thought and we were the only group of people there at 5pm. Probably because everybody was attending the graduation ceremony in Golden 1 Center. Not only did Cabana Club have a cute interior and setup, their menu was one-page front and back with food on one side and drinks on the other. Since I was driving home, I decided to go with the Virgin Pina Colada. Some of my coworkers also ordered some finger foods for the table to share such as the Hot Honey Pizza and Bruschetta Toast. Both were GREAT food options but between the two, the Hot Honey Pizza blew me away! I liked how their pizza dough was not too hard but not too soft. It was a bit fluffy which I liked. You can also taste the sweetness from the hot honey but it was subtle enough that it didn't overpower and take away from the flavors of the marinara and mozzarella cheese. Overall, service was great, the bartender was very attentive to us by constantly checking if we wanted to order anything, and the food and drinks were surprisingly tasty, especially after a long day in the office. I definitely need to come back here with my girl friends for a cute little girls day!

It was rainy and cold. My date had a North Face down jacket the whole time. I was in shorts and a tee shirt as it wasn't cold outside but turned instantly. We sat at a table that was wobbling and had to shove 10 napkins under the leg to stabilize it's rocking. We were only two tables out of 15 tables available. We were seated and after about 10 minutes we were introduced to the waiter. We asked for water and a wine list. He came back with our waters and asked what we would care to order. We placed our order and requested a bottle of wine. I also requested that the overhead gas heater be turned on, he said he would check. We were watching the other table get their wine and beer and wondered where our bottle of wine was. Our order came out after about 20 minutes and we enjoyed the food. We ordered a pizza and a chicken Parm sandwich. When the order arrived , we were not given any plates so we had to use napkins to set our slices on. We were 3/4 through the meal and the water and the waiter came by to check on the meal with us, asked if we needed anything else and realized he forgot the wine. Since we were almost done we canceled the wine order. The heater was never turned on and we were cold. This was a very poor dining experience needless to say. In this day and age of expensive prices and servers expecting a minimum of 25% we left very deflated. Now, to the credit of the server he did send two glasses of wine over as an apology for the mishap. But, I must say we left with half the meal in a box because the heaters were not turned on. I can't say I'll be returning anytime soon. The attention to detail was not present from the staff.
