At first things seemed fine, but over time the class became way over capacity, practice time was cut by 15 minutes, prices raised, and there isn't even enough room for students to properly practice. From what I've seen, they also don't properly stretch the kids before training, and a lot of class time ends up focused on conditioning instead of actual instruction and learning. My son showers before and after class, so cleanliness hasn't been an issue on our end. Most recently, he was asked to do 150 burpees in the corner alone before being allowed to join class because he had a little dirt on his feet, which was really concerning for us. I also witnessed the instructor bring multiple children to tears during class, which felt excessive and difficult to watch. Based on our experience, I'd suggest parents take a close look and consider other schools with a more balanced approach, better instruction, and adequate space for training.

This was Room #16 for me, with the majority of those having been rooms highly recommended by the escape room enthusiast community. So I've experienced a dozen top-notch rooms. I'm very excited to report that The Game Vault rivals the best rooms I've experienced! It is readily apparent that an extraordinary amount of time, effort, love, (and probably money) went into developing this room. The room was extremely immersive, made good use of tech, and was right on theme. The puzzles were diverse and a solid level of complexity that should appeal to both the less-experienced and the enthusiast. This is not a chain or someone looking to cash in on a concept that is surging in popularity. This is created by people who are apparently Ridgecrest locals and obviously have an appreciation of the craft. The owners were very friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them about escape rooms, Ridgecrest, and their venture in bringing the two together. The entire experience was amazing! The event is very well run, and they have many many sponsors and some incredible volunteers. The course is beautiful in a High Desert kinda way ... sparse vegetation ... dirt roads ... no shade ... love it love it love it. Not for everyone .. . 50k is really far ... but if you are interested you could not pick a better supported with nicer volunteers than this one. We also lucked out on perfect weather ... partly cloudy ... 50 degrees ... no wind. PERFECT. Out.
