There were benches to sit at this park, but they had homeless people setting up camp on them. The park was mostly dirty with trash littered throughout. Several homeless people were lying in the grassy areas. There are no bathrooms at this park. There is no playground equipment at this park. With the trees one is usually in the shade. A lot of people all hours of the day but it doesn't feel overly crowded. Don't let your dog in the lake or drink the water however, prone to poisonous algae. I'd say the only negative, and no fault of the park, is how many people choose not to clean up after their dogs. Wide enough for 3 across but the rules suggest 2 abreast as there are walkers and runners going both ways. A paved path and also a gravel path. This is a popular lake path behind the Peppermill along Lakeside. We enjoy walking here.

However, they are closed in the winter. There is a covered eating area with several picnic tables to sit at. There is a grassy area to play on. However, the area is hilly and wouldn't be suitable for sports. The playground is nice, despite being older. There is a small playground and a large playground. The playground is unique and offers a lot to play on. Wood chips are underneath the playground. There are swings and toddler swings at this park. The evening weather was perfect for the setting. Warm and cool breezes, great collective company, and good music. Families enjoying themselves. Highly recommended.

We since moved away from Reno, so it was special to be able to return after all this time with our children. My bias aside though, Im a firm believer there are few parks in the country that are as good as this one. To start, its HUGE! I don't think I've really ever seen the whole thing. There are rolling fields of grass, an "arboretum" which is like taking a walk in the mountains, a lake, playgrounds, a museum, gardens, a dog park, and idk what else. It's so beautiful wherever you go, and you can easily sink a day into exploring here.

AMENITIES: Barbecue, basketball court, pathways, picnic shelter, playgrounds, tables/benches, and year-round restrooms. You need bathrooms on the other side of the park also. Atmosphere - Part of the 1962 acre master community. 8 acres put aside for this park. Open space, wetland, etc. Service - N/A, self service. Price - Free. Owner Suggestion - Thank you for such a nice park, but can I suggest more shade? And another set of bathrooms on the other side of the park.

We always seem to see some wildlife here. I've walked and ran this path several times even on a Christmas evening lights viewing /run outing.
