The bars host live music and events, and I believe you may be able to rent them as venues- including the pool for pool parties. Pool passes are also available for those who want to swim or go to the pool without staying at the motel. Both of the bars have similar menus for cocktails, and the bartenders can also make you anything you want. They also have a few mocktails and NA options as well as sodas/tea/etc for the kids. Megan is one of the bartenders there, and she is wonderful. I had a blueberry cocktail that was flavorful, sweet, and strong. The cocktail prices (~$12) are reasonable for quality drinks and a few dollars cheaper than downtown. The bars, pool, and motel are all retro and make you feel like you're back in the 1970s. I haven't stayed in the motel and cannot rate that, but I have been inside a room, and it had a retro feel and is very clean. It is a motel so the doors face the parking lot, but everything feels very safe and the motel room prices are reasonable too.

From the start, the hotel did not provide basic accessibility features:    *   I was told there was a pool lift--there was not.    *   The bathroom in the room lacked required grab bars around the toilet. The hotel did move us to a larger room that was described as having a roll-in shower. However, while it may have been considered "accessible" on paper, it was not usable in practice. The shower had a marble threshold that I could not get my walker over independently. The space itself was extremely tight (approximately 3'x3'), and the opening barely accommodated the walker. There was no shower seat, and only a fixed shower head, which meant I required assistance to use it at all. I even had to bring my walker into the shower, soaking it in the process. This is not functional accessibility. We spent hours on our first day trying to work through these issues with staff, which caused us to miss previously secured dinner reservations at Magnolia's. As a result, we ate at the hotel's restaurant, Grill 225, assuming the situation would be appropriately addressed. Instead, only $100 was taken off the bill, which did not reflect the time lost or the impact on our stay. What was most disappointing was the lack of meaningful engagement from management. We were repeatedly told things would be passed along, but no one in a decision-making position addressed the situation directly--even while senior leadership was on site. There were also inconsistencies in how amenities were described. The pool was presented as heated, but when we asked about it, one staff member struggled to explain before another stated plainly that it was "heated by the sun." That moment reflected a broader pattern where expectations set by the hotel did not match the reality on the ground. This experience was not just inconvenient--it created real barriers and safety concerns. For a hotel positioning itself as a luxury property, this level of inaccessibility and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I hope ownership takes this seriously and makes the necessary changes so future guests do not have the same experience.

They have a selection of coffee, tea, fruit and pastries by the elevator each morning, but that's it. The vibe is stuffy, old-fashioned and elderly. When we checked in the front desk asked what time wanted cleaning, and what time we wanted turn-down service. I don't know why they asked, because the cleaners showed up whenever it was convenient for them. One time, it was at 9:30, they constantly rang the doorbell and yelled "turn down service!" In the hallway, even though we'd requested that to be at 6:30 while we were out at dinner. The cleaner also just walked in the morning we checked out, without even knocking- and it was only 10am so we technically had the room for two more hours! My advice is utilize the do not disturb sign!!! All of that might have been fine if it weren't for the price. This place was more expensive than a boutique midcentury hotel that I stayed at that was on the beach in Santa Monica, California. That hotel was way nicer and ON THE BEACH IN CALIFORNIA. I almost booked through booking.com, but since I've heard that can lead to issues I booked with the hotel directly, which was more expensive. I explained this to them when I booked, thinking they would match it (as every other hotel does when you're calling them directly and avoiding booking.com's fees) but nope- they couldn't care less. The carpet was gross and sticky, the air conditioner didn't go low enough, and the valet was confusing and brusque. I expected a lot more southern hospitality than I experienced here. Would not recommend spending the funds- just stay at a more reasonably priced place and uber to the French quarter. Oh, I did reach out to the hotel to let them know my concerns with the communication between the front desk and the cleaning staff, and I never heard back from them. I guess they have my money now, so what do they care?

She discussed leaving the hospital but staying close by, since we live 2 hours away. Her Dr reviewed her latest labs and told her if she stayed close he would discharge her. Immediately we looked into what hotels in Charleston had the most comfortable beds since she would have to stay in bed most of the day. Several came up but we had not stayed at the Dewberry before and our research said they had very comfortable beds, so we decided to book our 4 day stay. We could not have chosen a better place to visit. Sure this mid century modern hotel sits in a prime location in downtown Charleston, is gorgeous with an elegant atmosphere and beautiful roof top Bar, The Citrus Club, but ALL of their staff are exceptional and made us feel like royalty. I cannot remover all the names but Maria and Suzy at the front desk, Roxana and Maria in Housekeeping, along with the Valet and restaurant staff we so welcoming and accommodating. Oh and the rooms and beds were SO comfortable and luxurious!!! We are already planning a trip when my wife is better to enjoy all the Dewberry has to offer again! I cannot thank the Dewberry and it's amazing staff enough for going out of their way to help my wife be comfortable while healing and doing everything they could for us!! THANK YOU!!!

It can get a little loud at night with street noise, but from our room it wasn't too bad. The rooms seem to have been recently renovated, and our room was really nice. There was lots of space, a fully equipped kitchen (stove, but no oven), and a large bathroom. The hotel was very clean throughout. We would definitely stay here again. There is a valet for $40 a night, which is probably standard do this part of town.

The hotel is wonderfully located with easy walking to most of the main site, great restaurants and shopping. They offer a Champagne happy hour on Mondays and Fridays in their lobby from 3:30-4:30. They have hydration stations throughout the hotel and offer complimentary stainless water bottles upon check-in to keep you hydrated. The hotel itself is fresh and clean with modern touches in the decor. They have a great Restaurant and bar, The Iron Rose, located inside for meals and gatherings, including and outdoor seating area. There's also a coffee shop that offers quick grab and go food. The Terrace is their outdoor area which is nice with a pool bar and plenty of comfortable seating. On the weekends they have a DJ playing. Adjacent to that is the pool deck with loungers and umbrellas. The whole area is nice for relaxing and socializing. There are also some cabanas for purchase to reserve and even some of the guest rooms have their own cabanas, which would be nice also. The staff is friendly, helpful and are knowledgeable in the area for recommendations. It's a popular place for meetings and wedding venues too. Overall á great and convenient place to stay in Charleston.
