Sat in the lobby and had drinks here while waiting for the citrus club. Service was great and the drinks were amazing. Definitely matched the price as they were on the higher side. PS they have the best smelling candles which are in the bathroom, and they sell them online!

A quick detour from King Street and you see the Dewberry peering over Francis Marion Square. The architecture is not the normal Charleston look but somehow it fits in and is peaceful. Walking in feels warm and inviting as you check in and get brought tea and refreshments. The staff is friendly and super helpful with advice for restaurants and the surrounding area. The hotel has cars that will bring you anywhere you want. The rooms are clean and the beds feel like pillows.

Here to rave about the Apple pie Cronut in the Living Room! Absolutely delightful. I wanted a little bit more of the apple filling on the inside but it was perfectly crisp on the outside and dough/flakey (as it is supposed to be) on the inside.

This evening I went to the dewberry for dessert but ended up with dinner and drinks also. I sat at the downstairs bar where Patrick the bartender was very inviting and explained what I had chosen for dinner very detailed which was delicious. And he made a superb old fashion cocktail. I had the cauliflower confet was was amazing and dessert was cheese cake which was magnificent and well displayed.

We heard that the best rooftop view in the city was the Dewberry and when we got there it was ABSOLUTELY that. Fantastic view with a light show thrown in from thunderstorms in the distance! Went to the CITRUS BAR on the roof top as well and enjoyed cocktails (Pineapple Old Fashioned) and a refreshing breeze to accompany the view. Great atmosphere, could have stayed for hours easily. Would definitely go back!

Exceptionally pleasant hi end hotel, bar and rooftop experience. Through in a few boutique shops and you have fine luxury stay in the heart of a Charleston, SC across from Marion Square. This truly is the "center" of Charleston. From the valet to incredible wine and cocktails, you will be treated like royalty. That is why this is one of the top luxury hotels.

Perfect hotel with a great staff and outstanding location in Charleston. Rooms are comfortable and service is outstanding. The downstairs lounge is a great spot for breakfast and afternoon cocktails. The rooftop Citrus Club has excellent views of the city and the surrounding islands.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen! Purchased and opened back in 2008, The Dewberry transports you into a better time. Everything is unique and Art Deco with clean lines, cushy velvet, and swanky pictures. Everything is comfortable and the service is top notch! Stop in for a stay or check out one of their many restaurants onsite for a quick drink and snack.

1st Visit to Charleston and 1st time to citrus club in the dewberry hotel. The decor was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and the view from the rooftop was amazing. We enjoyed several appetizers from the menu and the popsicle drink. I would love to stop again and recommend to my friends.

I read a lot of reviews and came across this hotel because of its location and other folks reviews. I would absolutely book this hotel again and I will be coming back to Charleston. The people made our experience here in Charleston fabulous and we greatly appreciate it. Thanks to Hannah, at the front desk for all her recommendations to eat everything was spectacular. Thanks to Bob the bartender that made one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had and lastly, thanks to the manager Carlo for coming over and introducing himself. You're only as strong as your weakest link…read more I've stayed in many hotels for both work and personal travel. The nice amenities, decent gym and friendly staff are what creates the environment for a pleasant experience. Two of these were met and the friendly staff, was mostly there. . .but one sour apple truly changed the course of our stay. Even my wife, who worked once upon a time in hospitality at Kiawah Resort, was started by the interactions from The Loutrel Hotel staff member. Long story short. The daily complimentary breakfast was served. I accidentally went to place the granola lid on the yogurt, my wife told me that was the wrong lid and I went to correct. From across the room the breakfast attendant yelled, "sir that doesn't go there." Startled, I immediately removed it and placed it accordingly. I laughed it off. Moments later I went to sit my breakfast down where my drink was located. Same attendant, "you're not even sitting at the right table with your wife." Again, my error, but don't call me out twice in one morning. It's a small lobby, so many staff members overheard the interaction. Nothing was done by other management. The next morning, I walked down to look at breakfast. I saw the same attendant and said, good morning. She looked at me but wasn't pleasant in her response. Unlike the rest of her colleagues at the restaurant who are polite and kind, the same customer service I expect and provide to my customers. Breakfast offered salmon with some type of eggs or shellfish. I can't eat shellfish, allergic. So, I went to grab a biscuit at a local coffee shop and a coffee. We came back to the hotel and sat our food down. The same rude attendant came over, nudged my wife in her back and said, "you can't have this here, cross contamination." So, I left. Allowed my wife to eat her yogurt in the area. Funny enough, my wife asked where the utensils were, because every table had them. Same attendant rudely, pointed to another table for her to get them. I should have just sat down and ate my food as I didn't see any signs for "no outside food." Either way, stay somewhere else. It's unfortunate that a hotel like this allows such rudeness from a staff member. I did report this to the manager, and online but was met with more passivity. Comped two nights of valet. Honestly, it wasn't enough. I would never stay here again and it ended the trip on such a sour note.

I had no idea what to expect of the rooms. Honestly, we booked this place last minute so I briefly reviewed the pictures and reviews but was just ready to get away. BUT when we got to the room, after self parking at the public garage behind the hotel, we opened the door to the cutest little room. It was sized as if it was in New York City but had cute boho chic charm. It's perfectly located in the middle of everything and the walkability was what we enjoyed most. We walked to all of the best restaurants and shops once we parked, we only left the a garage once the entire time there. We loved the daily breakfast and were intentional about making it downstairs for it. The grits were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and once topped with the shredded cheese and fresh cracked pepper, I couldn't get enough! The pastries and biscuits were also very good. The biscuits and pastries tasted like someone's grandma made them. I know this review is long, so I'll stop now even though I could say so much more. We'll definitely return because I failed to try their espresso martini and they boast to have the best. Note: There's a valet option but the self parking seemed easier.
