Everyone has been friendly and they have a nice selection of typically popular running shoes and accessories. They also have a bit of a running community with occasional product tests/races/practice runs etc. On the other hand, they have a practice which I can only characterize as annoying but perhaps necessary from their point of view. Unlike every other running store I've ever been to, they make you get socks off the rack at their store to try on (even if you bring your own clean, washed socks). I was under the impression you had to buy the socks and that was certainly the implication when they took socks off the rack and ripped open the package. Somebody messaged me on YELP saying that is not the case but that was certainly not clear to me. Especially when they literally said to me "Don't worry, they'll be discounted" and it was not clear to me what the price was of the socks I was directed to (i later found out they were over $18 and the "discount" was about $5...so in other words, it certainly seemed like I was paying $13 just to try on shoes). Perhaps its just a sanitary thing and not an extra charge but the employees should be crystal clear about that. They were not. Perhaps a sign when you walk in would make this clear (if there was one, i did not see it) as its just casually brought up when you ask to try on shoes. At any rate, if they do charge you (or at least suggest you buy the socks discounted), I get why they do this. I mean, once you find a shoe you like, you can likely get it online cheaper and i'm sure people just come in to try stuff on and then want to leave. This would be a way to force people to pay for something. But, I like to support small and local businesses so I would not do that. However, not allowing me to wear a clean pair of socks (or even having standard "try on socks" like most stores do for customers), I feel is a bit...well..annoying.
