It's alright. Not much to choose from. Nothing special. And, return / exchange policy like nonexistent :(. I've bought few canopies options for the ceiling lights fixtures to choose from, but couldn't return the unused 2 weeks later with receipt! Absurd. read more

I recently visited the Accessory Store for help obtaining a modern lampshade for a family heirloom lamp. Grace helped me and she was amazing. She listened to what I had in mind and then helped me explore those options. Then she suggested something very different - and I loved it! Amazing store and outstanding customer service! I previously purchased a lamp for a severe discount elsewhere and realized it needed a simple repair to function. I want to write this review because this store has been such a great resource for me for a number of reasons. I purchased three antique lamps and the lamp repair guy there has managed to figure out how repair/update them every time. He is so fast and I do not have to wait for a week like the people in Cos Cob. AND Their interior design stylist, Martine, helped me figure out which end tables and lamps I should use for a difficult sized guest room. I never expected to get such a professonal stylist opinion and it made the decorating experience easy. I am going again tomorrow for another room. I love this place. read more

Overpriced and disappointed. Terrible combination. We brought in a ceiling light to be fitted for our living room, telling the workshop we need it hang a maximum of 18". The first time we picked up the light, they told us it had to hang a minimum of 20". We told them that obviously would not work. -we wished they called to tell us this. On our second visit we asked them to adjust the light to 25" to place in another room. They said it would take two weeks to complete. Three weeks later we called them and they could not find the paperwork. They finally called us back and told us it was ready. We went to pick it up only to discover the parts were not in yet. read more

The two table lamps which I brought in for repair were fixed professionally and I thought the price was fair. One of these was part of a matched set, so certainly to buy new lamps would have been far more costly. Staff was very courteous, and they provided an estimate before I committed to the repairs. The actual bill was a couple of dollars less than the estimate. Although I didn't come in to make a new purchase, they have a vast selection of lamps and fixtures, shades, etc., which I will keep in mind in the future. read more

This is a treasure in Stamford Connecticut. The customer service is excellent. My husband brought a very expensive floor lamp in after another"Lamp Store" said it was hopeless.The repair department fixed on the spot with a better dimmer then the Lamp came with. I was looking for some interesting light bulbs The selection was incredible. I also brought in a less expensive lamp in need of a face lift For under 30 dollars I now have a lamp that looks like a spent a fortune.I can't wait to go back. read more

He knew exactly what to do with these older mercury lamps, they were done immediately and reasonably priced to fix. wow!!!!!!! This is as good a retail experience as it gets!! I showed up just as the store was closing. Got the wrong info. I was very sad as I was hoping to get some lamps done for my daughter's room. This gorgeous, tall, elegant woman got out of her car and reopened the store for me. But that was just the beginning. She took on my two lamps as if I were Beyonce and treated them with the kind of love and enthusiasm one never finds in retail. When she should have been getting ready for Saturday night, she was dressing and redressing my lamps til they were as gorgeous as she was. I can't rave about this store or my experiences here enough. She was not satisfied with finding me the perfect shades, she did not stop until she found two perfect finials. This experience only reinforces my prior experiences here. We brought a SUPER EXPENSIVE MODERN light here for repairs and they did an amazing job at a very fair price. This place is special and the woman, Martine, who helped me tonight was an angel. With an elegant beautiful sense of style. An an elegance that I will remember for a very long time. I am loyal forever. read more

The should be your first stop if you want to buy a lamp. The lamps are not cheap but the store has dozens of different styles, sizes and types of lamps - any they "build' them for you (remember that the base is one price but then you still need to pay for the shade). You choose the base and the (very helpful) staff will pull different lamp shades until you find the correct one. If you want you can change the finials or the doodads that attach the shade to the base (in order to change the overall height of the shade). You can also take the lamp home to test it in the space and return it if it does not work out (just keep the wrapping on the shade). While it does have some accessories, it is a bit of a misnomer since 90% of the stock is lamps, shades and light bulbs. read more

I brought an old oil lamp into the store, to see if it could be electrified. David, who helped me, couldn't have been more patient and helpful in working with me in determining how I could keep the authenticity of this antique lamp while also making it a piece I would actually use. The quote David gave was very detailed and he emailed it to me, prior to my picking up the item - there were no surprises in the cost. I couldn't be more thrilled with the result or the service. On 4-8 I went there to have a banker's lamp repaired. The pull switch had gotten stuck. I bought the part for $5, thinking I could fix it myself, saving the $15 the repair guy quoted me. I couldn't replace the part so I went back on 4-14 to have them repair it. Today, when I picked up the lamp, the cost was $43!! I was told that it "wasn't easy to fix". Lamps like this run about $40, with tax & shipping. I recognize that the repair guy had no way of knowing a difficulty he might encounter but this repair cost is ridiculous. It's more than a new lamp. read more

I had a marvelous experience at the store. I went to the store to pick a lamp shade for my lamp, and Cindy was most professional in listening to my comment and making suggestions. I was desperate--I bought in a brand new lamp I had broken the second I got it--snapped the electrical light bulb holder--panicked I drove up to The Accessory Store and David fixed it the minute I brought it in and changed the ugly black cord to a clear one. Marten helped me get a new shade and finial to make my broken lamp perfect in minutes.
