This was my experience buying a vehicle from Northwest Bus Sales. I run a dog rescue organization called Tragic To Magic (tragictomagic.org) and I had been looking for a vehicle for some time to transport the animals from the San Diego area to the Northwest where they could more easily be adopted. I got a call from Las Vegas and the salesman could not have been more helpful. We talked several times and I explained at length what I needed to do with the truck. (Lay creates up and down and so on.) He was even so kind as to send me dimensions so I could determine the size and number of dogs that could go. He told me how happy he was to work with a dog rescuer. I completely trusted him. I had the vehicle inspected by "The Lemon Squad" which my salesman recommended, and they found engine errors related to the diesel system. Jon reassured me that those problems would be fixed prior to my picking it up. I have no idea if they were fixed or repaired. I wired the money $45,645.00 for the bus on Feb 10, 2023. Jon sent the following message.... Your shuttle is on the schedule to be serviced and made ready by our shop. I made the worst mistake anyone could make...I bought the vehicle sight unseen. I flew out on to pick it up on April 12th. I had already paid for the flight and had scheduled trips with dogs, so I was on a schedule, and they had plenty of time to get it ready. Jon told me to "hold off"' but it had been weeks since I paid so I figured whatever had come up could be top priority and fixed quickly. I'm 67 years old so it was important to me to spend some time learning the vehicle and getting it back to San Diego while it was still light. I arrived and was told the vehicle was not ready. It was back in the Fairway Chevy garage for repair. There was a lot of anger, and the repair person was terribly rude to me and nobody could tell when it would be ready. I spent the entire day in the waiting room and had to get a hotel still not knowing when my Truck would be ready and still not able to even SEE the truck. All I was told was that was "no big deal....just a warning light that came on but nothing was actually wrong...like a false alarm". The next day was the same. No answers, rudeness and waiting until late afternoon when I was finally told it was ready. With excitement I finally got to see the significant investment I had made. My heart sank when I saw the back of the truck. The mechanics of the wheels underneath made it completely impossible to lay crates on the floor. Something I described in detail. It was completely unusable for my purposes. It was late in the day...no time to review the vehicle. My salesman had to go visit a sick relative did even hang around to explain anything about the vehicle and there was no owner's manual and then a tire had to be fixed. I felt I had no choice, everything had been paid and the seats were removed per my instructions. I drove home to San Diego over the mountains in the dark. I took the vehicle and spent significant money modifying it to make it work. It has been in and out of the shop with the same engine warnings. These are not trivial problems. It is designed in a way that if these warning lights come on you are limited on speed or stopped completely. The dogs go from San Diego to the Seattle area which covers mountains and sometimes extreme temperatures. It is very dangerous to be in a situation where you can't continue driving the vehicle when I have 30 dogs in the car. And these repairs can't be done by your local mechanic on every corner. After spending thousands of dollars on constant repairs, I decided to take them to small claims court. We never went to court because they called and said they would send check for $8,000 if I were to take the review down. I agreed and back to the shop it went. After more problems I finally realized I had to sell it because it was unusable and dangerous for my purposes. I hired a third company to help me sell. They obtained a CarFax report, and it was discovered that this vehicle had been in a "sever' accident and the only thing I could get for it was basically a few thousand as scrap. We went to several dealerships, and they all said the same thing. Finally sold it for 5k. I tried to find a lemon law lawyer in Vegas since this was never revealed to me, but they wanted money in advance and I am broke at this point and mentally exhausted by the whole experience so I've decided to just put my review back up. This has been a devastating loss to tragic to magic. I paid $45,645.00 to purchase, approximately $10,000.00 in repairs and modifications and was only able to recoup $13,000.00 in less than a year. (loss of $42,645.00) It has affected me physically and emotionally. I'm trying to put the whole thing behind me and move on and continue to save dogs.
