    Chicken Pepper Fry
    Mary C.

Signature India is a more of a casual spot located near the Manchester Walmart/Costco, across from Pan Asia. The space is relatively small with minimal decorations but staff is friendly and the bathrooms are very clean. My boyfriend and I went here with a friend with dietary restrictions. This is her favorite Indian spot near Saint Louis since it's reportedly very authentic and serves halal. (Her family is from India and this is her dad's favorite.) There is a wide selection on the menu from dosas to even baked goods -- I haven't personally gotten to try these yet but were told the pistachio cakes are very good. We got garlic naan, onion pakora, chicken with pepper fry, chicken tikka masala, navratna korma, and the boneless chicken biryani (they also have a bone-in option). It appears to be very authentic indeed -- I had a hard time tasting much since it was incredibly spicy even when requesting the lowest possible spice level. (The food came out pretty fast for how much we ordered so not sure if the curries are made ahead of time so they were unable to adjust the spice?). Everything with the exception of the onion pakora and naan was spicy. I had also ordered an aloo paratha (but they accidentally served us an extra naan instead). We ended up being overstuffed so I didn't mind. The chicken tikka I could tell was delicious with soft chicken. The navratna korma (veggie korma with cashews) was also flavorful with the sauce but my boyfriend and I needed lots and lots of rice for both. The chicken pepper fry was basically like eating fireballs XD but my friend loved this dish. My boyfriend's favorite was the biryani (also very, very spicy). However, the waiters here are very nice! They gave us all free mango lassi because they saw we were struggling. The mango lassi was the perfect amount of mango sweetness and very much needed yogurt to help with the flavorful spice. We took home the chicken biryani to mix with more white rice at home and I could tell it was very flavorful with generous portions of meat. I am probably a wimp, but just to note to be careful if you have low spice tolerance like me! My friend loved everything here. Also as a side note: the restaurant serves disposable water bottles only, which I didn't mind but some have noted before.

The Indian food here is good. One of my favorite Indian dish that I like is the goat biryani. We also ordered garlic naan and curry chicken. One other dish that is fried bread type with dip was filling. Despite only two tables with customers at the time, it was a little time before we had staff to come and take our orders. This could be due to the other customers at the other table because they seems to have specific requests. However the staff brought us the food in a reasonable timeframe and did check in on us twice.

Really decent Indian food. I participated clearly enjoyed that it was not watered down like some other restaurants we've been too. A nice experience and nice people.

Absolutely yummy and finger-lickin-good food. A surprise find during my Missouri trip! I'm happy I got to eat some of the best South-Indian food I've eaten in a while. My review is not just based on one visit. Their food was so good that I ordered the very next day. Very homey food and spice levels are apt. I was especially mind-blown by the goat biryani. Never had anything like that before. Day 1 order: Bisebelabath, Butter chicken, Garlic naan, Mango lassi and chocolate pastry Day 2: Goat biryani, Curd rice & samosas Price-$ Quantity-5/5 Quality-5/5 Spice levels- Just the right balance of flavors Leftovers- Plenty Will I come back? HELL YEAH! P.S: EVERYTHING in my order was delicious.

Came here for Valentine's Day. They have special valentines dinner for 2 for $39.99. You can pick from limited selections but it covers drinks to appetizers to entrees to desserts. It was a good deal and very tasty. Very spicy but flavorful, very nice.

Great food! Very flavorful. Ordered chicken korma and butter chicken with a side of butter naan. Food was brought out quickly and hot and just the right amount of spice. It was a little pricey - but about what similar restaurants charge. The rice was bland, could use something...maybe peas? Will definitely be back.

We have been to a lot of the Indian restaurants on Manchester, but Signature India! We went on a Saturday night and decided to dine in. It was busy, which is a great sign! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (which we have learned is really a British dish), Vegetable Samosas, Dal Palak (lentils with spinach), and the Vegetable Manchurian. The Samosas came first with some of that delicious green dipping sauce (I don't know what it is called :-)). They were tasty! We enjoyed them and so did our 3 year old son! The main dishes were good, and we liked the Tikka the best. It was prepared with good sauce, chicken was not too bad, and loved the added vegetables (pepper and onion). Lentils are always a hit, but the spinach overtook this dish (Dal Palak) to the point where there was almost too much for us. Our new dish for the evening that we had never tried, was the Vegetable Manchurian. The overall flavor was okay, but the spiciness is what made it good. Every dish paired well with the Basmati Rice and Naan, which I feel is a must to have both to compliment Indian food. Overall, the Samosas and Chicken Tikka Masala were the hit of the night. If we were to try Signature India again, we would definitely order different dishes and the Biryani!

Got 2 sandwiches for lunch: the smoked pork and the roast beef sandwhich. Still can't decided which one was better because both were DELISH. The focaccia on the smoked pork was sooo soft and fluffy and light, combination of coleslaw with the pork was perfect. I thought there was no way the roast beef could be as good yet once again proven wrong. The challah was perfect and whatever cheese they had with the roast beef sandwhich was perfect. Pro tip: you can ask for the sandwiches to be heated up! As for the desserts: I really wanted a cake sweet treat but my eyes were bigger than my belly could handle. Got the maple pull, chocolate almond croissant , and ham and gruyere croissant. Which I cannot wait to eat tomorrow for breakfast!! Place is busy but moves fast. Honestly, if you judged it by the outside, you might drive right past it. There is one parking spot in front, and then a run down parking lot behind and to the side. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was back in my childhood. The lime green decor, the dark bakery display cases filled with buns, and the small plates of food inside reminded me of the Cantonese bakeries I grew up going to. They also had ready to go meals wrapped up to take home. We bought a bunch of things to try. We had the beef cheung fun, siu mai, BBQ pork baos, sesame balls, egg custard tarts, and one of my favorites, the giant round sponge cake. Everything was fresh and really tasty. The roast pork looked delicious too, with nice crispy skin. The biggest surprise for me was seeing lo po beng (Old Wife Cake). We can hardly ever find it on the East Coast, so whenever we do, we always buy some for my mom. Seeing it here made me so happy. I live in the Metro D.C. area, where we have some really good Cantonese bakeries, so I wasn't expecting much from this tiny place. But honestly, Wei Hong Bakery could definitely give many of the bakeries back home a run for their money. Don't let the outside fool you. If you're looking for authentic Cantonese bakery items in St. Louis, this little bakery is absolutely worth a visit. It brought back so many childhood memories, and I'd definitely stop again the next time I'm in town.

Last year, (I waited that long) I sent Simone, the owner, a message on instagram to let her know I was frustrated about having trouble getting any of the crème puffs she was constantly advertising. They were one of my favorite pastries she made. (Obv not super important I just thought she may not know & what could it hurt giving her some input from a customer, she may know know?) In this message I also told her how long I'd been supporting her & why and how much I loved her bakery. She is black, female, and truly an artist and master at her craft. With a good personality, That being said; she unleashed her fury on me, one of the angriest most condescending messages I had ever read. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day or she just doesn't handle feedback well. I was stunned and disappointed. Either way, I would never consider stepping foot into her bakery ever again. Her window has maybe 5 things to choose from. It's pretty sad, but there were 2 items I love love loved, and I drove out of my way and paid top dollar for those items. She's by far one of the most expensive bakeries in St. Louis, but I enjoyed supporting her I thought she was great. And she has a moving story. Sadly she doesn't know how to handle customers or feedback. I'm in customer service, 30 years, that's not how you do it, I still think she's a cool Person but not enough to support her.
