She was very pleasant and kind throughout our entire experience. The dining room is so cute, and there is plenty of seating. I got the chick'n tikka wrap with fries and a mango milkshake. I enjoyed my wrap, the sauce was amazing. The fries were delicious, too. They let you pick the seasoning level which I thought was very nice- they were perfect. The star was the mango milkshake- a bit pricey for being so small at $9.99, but it was so delicious and perfectly sweet. I'm still craving it now a few days later. My friends got the Dubai Chocolate milkshake and we are begging for it to be apart of the permanent menu! It was so good and had nice little crunchy pieces inside. If you're looking for vegan food, definitely check this out! However, if you aren't vegan like myself, I would still highly recommend. I will definitely return in the future.

While browsing reviews, we came across a hidden gem in St. Ann called Maaji's Street Kitchen that had surprisingly high ratings. I couldn't believe how well-reviewed it was, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Monday and were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. We made our way to the counter to place our order, and the staff member was very helpful once we mentioned it was our first time. He walked us through the menu and even pointed out different dishes and combo options on their digital signage display menu, which made ordering much easier. We placed our order to go and waited inside. It's a small space, but it's decorated with unique art and has a really unique vibe. There was a hypnotic Indian song playing in the background, which added to the atmosphere. We sat at a table that had a game on it--I believe it was called Carrom, a tabletop game where you flick checker-sized discs into corner pockets, similar to a mini pool table. A woman who I assume was the owner or manager came out from the back and greeted us. While we waited, she showed us how to play the game. As we were playing, she came back and even offered us samples of the food we had ordered. I was honestly impressed by the level of hospitality--it's not something you experience very often. The sample alone was some of the best Indian food I've had. The spices were perfectly balanced for my taste, and it made me even more excited to get home and dig into our full meal. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Curry Bowl, and I went with Combination #2 (Shredded Chicken Curry, Steamed Rice, and Parantha), along with a side salad. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I can't remember the last time we were treated this well at a restaurant, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.

But, if you venture into little spicier side try their goat/lamb curries. You have to order at counter and food will be delivered to table. Please check the photos for what's new in menu. Tip: Very close to B&B theatres if you want to combine your movie and dining out together.

It's a combination of chickpeas, papidi (fried crackers), and mint chutney that tastes refreshing. The chicken 65 didn't taste that fresh and perhaps was leftover from lunch... and unlike the lunch combo, you don't get rice or naan when you order the dinner entree, and this completely changed how it tasted (the rice/naan is essential in my opinion). So make sure to also buy rice or naan if you get the chicken 65; otherwise, it'll taste way too salty. The raita isn't as good as it used to be - it's much thicker now with consistency of actual yogurt and has less of that mint/cucumber flavor. The mango lassi is still excellent and cools down the spice from the other dishes. Overall, I still prefer the taste and value of the lunch combo over what I ordered for dinner this time.

Walking in the hostess was kind and cheerful. My waitress came over soon after and was pleasant. Not over the top friendly, but helped me with my order. She never came back. My food was delivered by a young man who seemed like he was having a bad day. He walked over put my plate down, turned around and walked away. I was trying to ask him for salt and pepper, but missed him. Shortly afterwards, an older gentleman who may have been the owner or manager, came over to check on me. The ambience was decent. The lighting was good. The restaurant was clean. The food was also reasonably priced. (I went to another Indian restaurant a few few weeks later and then naan (bread) was $6, which at that location was nearly half the price of my meal! ) The food appeared to be a meager portion, but that was just based on the presentation. It was actually a substantial amount; I only was able to eat half (A lot of restaurants work to make their items look bigger than they are in this one it was the opposite). As I was finishing up, I called over the manager, had him bring me a box in the check. He did that took my payment and thanked me for coming by. I would definitely go back to house of India. The service wasn't over the top as I like to have a server do more than just take my order, but they did have a system, my food was hot and tasty, I was served quickly, and I left pleased and ready to begin my 18 hour fast.
