I first met Humberto when I opened a Yelp project ticket in January. He was not only quick to respond, (he came over within an hour, on a Sunday), he also was transparent in his pricing and had great suggestions. I could tell he knew a lot about gardening. Humberto and Alejandro came in January for the first visit, and as was right for the season, they pruned all of the bushes, weeded the mulch and stone areas, and mowed the lawn. I liked them so much that first visit we made a plan for the next visit in the spring, which happened today! Humberto brought just the stone I wanted (he knew it by name when he saw it the first time), to refresh the old stone and also brought the mulch that we had talked about- both in the perfect quantity. Today they also mowed and fertilized the grass (the right time of year for that now), cleaned up all of my pots, put new plants in huge heavy ceramic pots, replanted some outlier succulents from the stone area, and did a thoughtful cleanup all around. He advised me about "sunny plants" and "shady plants" too, which was very useful. The yard is beaming with Springtime! Humberto is busy for a good reason, so plan for that, but a shiny well thought out garden is a joy.

We hashed out the details with Nate over email. Our area was 8.5 feet by 21.5 feet and involved digging out the subgrade, setting concrete and rebar, tiles (including a curved path), and gravel. We set the construction date for February 19th which lasted until February 25th. Jesus, the foreman, was great at communicating the steps required for the build. He would often check in to make sure that we got the end product we desired and was receptive to feedback for the design. With their workmanship guarantee, we have nothing to worry about. Overall, the process was smooth and hassle free. We would be happy to recommend them to others for their landscaping needs.

We moved to the Outer Sunset to have a little more space for our son to run around. The backyard of…read moreour place was full a pea gravel and the typical concrete slab that you see in typical Outer Sunset backyards. We looked through multiple designers, contractors, etc. and decided to go with David and Inside Out. Our overall goal was to maximize the backyard space for play, add bike storage, benches for seating, tropical plants, and a grill space. We went through a couple design iterations with David. He had great recommendations on plants, great thoughts on design and was flexible on the fly. We originally were trying to save some existing plants moving them to another location but I am glad we cleared everything out and started with a clean slate. We were also thinking about a raised garden but decided to go with storage benches, another decision I am glad we made. His team took out all the pea gravel, jackhammered and removed the concrete slab, removed sand/dirt accordingly, removed all existing plants/trees. His team was very professional, they arrived/left at the same time everyday. We added two benches with storage which was a great hit during many play dates having multiple places for adults and kids to seat/play. We also store various toys, gym equipment (weights for me), bbq items in plastic containers so they do not get wet with the morning dew or rain. The bike storage unit is practically waterproof. Everything stays cool and dry even when it pours in the winter. The turf is still flat, no crazy gopher mounds like you get elsewhere in the Outer Sunset (they installed gopher wire below the turf). Our plants: *King Palms *Queen Palms *Fern trees *Podocarpus Elongatus (ice tree) *Giant Birds of Paradise *Other plants Inside Out also does maintenance and guarantees the plants for the 1st year. We have them come out monthly and have had them replace some of the smaller plants as some did not last. All of the large plants and trees are doing great along with the Giant Birds of Paradise. We also had Inside Out build us a trash bin area out front after they finished the backyard. Everything looks great! Many of our neighbors and friends have commented on how great our backyard looks. We even got a nice note from a neighbor we did not know saying how he enjoys waking up with the view of palm trees out of his bedroom window. I had some drainage work done at my house which trashed my entire irrigation system, so I needed to have it replaced, both in the front and back yard. The McKay crew did a bang up job of it. They came in on time and on budget. They had the whole system laid out and running within about two days. Then Sherman spent some time with me to make sure I knew how to operate the controllers. In fact, they do more than irrigation, and I will likely have them come back and put in some new plants and do some other work in my backyard. I found them on Yelp and their profile and reviews gave us the perception of a high quality and professional landscape company. as such I felt their pricing may be a bit high. I used Yelp to contact and communicate with them initially. Rachel impressively returned my request for information the same day. I also reached out to 2 other companies at the same time. My initial request was for weed clearing and contouring the front yard. They in fact quoted the highest price for this work. I then asked the three firms to quote the entire front yard landscaping project and this is where Go Green Landscape won me over. I had a plan sketch drawing of the yard with dimensions and notes of what we were looking for. Daniel came out to review this with me. He was patience and knowledgeable to the point where I felt comfortable working with Go Green. (I suggest you have some plans prepared so they can quote properly.) I gave them materials and finishes we desired and wanted to match some existing work we had done. Their quote came back detailed and precise. Everything was documented and clear. Granted we went back and forth a few times to make sure all items, details and costs were accounted for but Rachel handled this like a champ. Dorian, Francisco, Eli and the Team came out to start work. Let me just say these guys know what they are doing. They cleared the front yard in the first day! Then area by area, section by section they worked with me to bring our front yard concept to life. We opted for a super low maintenance design. Retaining wall blocks, pavers, crushed rock, artificial turf and river rock. The quality of care and professional work they provided will impress you. They went back and forth to dump site to drop off waste and to vendors to pick up materials as needed. They shifted workers from job to job as the work progressed.
