As the jeweler went to take it off my wrist, the clasp disintegrated in his hand. About one week later, while trying to secure the clasp on an 18 inch string of pearls, the clasp broke. Luckily, the pearls did no scatter. Palmer's repaired both pieces. The work was done quickly, perfectly and for a very reasonable cost.
