The Wildberry Lodge gives you the privacy of the mountains with the feel of an upscale hotel. The amenities include a hot tub with stunning views as well as the best basement man cave that includes a pool table, shuffle board, and unique amenities like an old school Scrabble board. The breakfast features fresh fruit, delicious eggs, potatoes, and a variety of juices. We are not the typical frustrated novelist who always post reviews. During our trip to Asheville we wanted to experience the city but also have cabin time. Wildberry lodge provided us with the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could ever ask for. Wild berry is definitely a way to get out of the city and just enjoy the quietness of nature (without going too far of course!) The drive itself is around 25-30 mins from downtown Asheville - there are several ways to get here but the new foundland road was probably the best route. It's easy to stay in the cabin and go enjoy yourself in the city during the day or evening. Ken and Glenda were very hands off and so friendly - if you have questions on where to go or what to do they can accommodate everything! The main cabin has multiple rooms - gooseberry and some other room options. This is where you check in, get breakfast, game room, sit on the deck, coffee/cider bar and chit chat with other guests if your heart desires. The best part of our stay was Glenda's breakfasts! Her recipes were featured in an Asheville bed and breakfast recipe book! We signed up for a bfast time the day prior (anywhere from 8am-930am) and she is usually ready whenever we get there! Our first breakfast included - garden frittata, bacon, homemade English muffin, rosemary roasted potatoes and to finish it off - poached pear. Our second breakfast included pumpkin pecan pancakes, cranberry/apple chutney and sausages and ended it with a mixed berry cobbler. Everything was superb and very filling! We stayed in the honey moon suite to get the full cabin - on our own - experience and it was gorgeous! The bed is super comfy, everything was clean and up to date. It was almost like glamping! Only downside to our visit was the drive at night can be a bit scary if you are not use to driving on mountains. One of the first nights it was raining so it was slightly difficult coming back to the cabin from downtown Asheville. Just make sure you have a car and drive safely! After the initial drive you will get use to it and it should be easier' Other than that - this is a place worth splurging on and visiting!' Thanks Ken and Glenda!!

We don't sleep well either night. First night my pillow smelled like a dog so I couldn't sleep and…read morehad to keep covers off me due to this. Told front desk, got new covers apparently and they had a blood stain on it and the nasty pillow was never exchanged etc and remained on the armoire until we left. Night two, after getting "clean linens" a bug crawled on hubs side of the bed and we didn't sleep that night either....needless to say we won't be back and the front desk was made aware and the manager had emailed and apologized....damage is already done.

So this has to do with dining. I came in for dining and paid 28 dollars. This was supposed to be…read morefor a full 4 course meal. First and foremost they were out of dessert by time I came. They were offering boxed mixed greens and salad fixing when the news is telling us to stay away from that because of a bad parasite. their main course was pork. I am allergic to gluten which was on their shrimp and I don't eat pork for religious reasons. I told them this and they made me a small plate of chicken definitely not 28 dollars worth. If you're going to charge that much money and offer a buffet, then you need to have a variety of foods catering to a variety of peoples different dietary needs. Along with supply enough food so that you don't run out. I don't eat pork but it looked dried out and not very good anyway. I would not recommend coming to their restaurant. Also they could have offered me a refund when they couldn't suit my needs.
