For every $1 spent, you receive $4 back toward qualifying fresh produce(up to $40). We got to try things like purple carrots, cheddar cauliflower, and mulberries for the first time. Everything we've gotten has been fresh and high quality. It was a little confusing at first figuring out which produce qualified for the program, but once we understood it, it became totally worth it. Service The employees have always been friendly overall. One worker especially helped us during our first visit with the produce program and was very patient while figuring out the system. The cafe staff can seem busy at times, but everyone has still been kind and welcoming whenever we've interacted with them. Ambiance and Parking The ambiance feels more like a cozy coffee shop than a regular market. This seems like a family owned business, so I really wanted to support, especially as someone who lives in the neighborhood. After my last two visits, I cannot justify returning again. The first time they gave me pork bacon instead of what I ordered, I gave grace... mistakes happen. Today, when I called in my order and emphasized that I wanted chicken sausage, only to get the food home and realize they'd given me pork bacon again, I was done. The woman who is at the register also always tries to seemingly rush me out (who I am assuming is her son is much more friendly when I pick up). I get that this is a densely Latinx populated community and that is who mostly patronizes this restaurant, but I don't think that I should be treated differently, as a regular paying customer.
