Have had good and bad meat from this shop. It's really hit and miss. The wife and I go every two months and purchase one of their 250 dollar steak packages. The last couple times there has been so many tendons throughout the meat you can only chew less than half. Way to far to travel for less than quality meat. Time to find someone else. read more

Came here for the first time on July 10th 2021 and the young guy at the counter was kinda rude and very uninterested in us being there. and a heads up to any of my fellow gay people I'd be careful if you plan to go shopping at Silvana meats it's not gay friendly. I usually go to Double DD meats to get some meat and bones for my dog.I want to try this place because it's closer. Unfriendly emoloyees(two ladies were there) ,No greeting,prices are higher than Double DD meats, they don't have ground duck. Double DD meats is much much better. read more

I absolutely love buying my meats from this butcher! The meats are vegetarian grain fed, no hormones, no antibiotics. I buy fresh eggs and depending on the season fresh corn on the cob at Silvana's. The butcher sells meat in combo packs or Ala carte. I buy what I want on a weekly basis. I purchase the baby back ribs, ribeye, porterhouse steaks, t-bones, hamburger, chicken breasts and thighs (boneless), pork chops, London broil, flank steak, roasts for making roast beef sandwiches and roasts for pot roast. I tell them what I am making and they suggest the cut. They are professional and knowledgeable on all things meat. I have purchased a raw ham and feed a group of 30. It was a first for all my friends to have a raw ham cooked for them. I grew up on a gentlemen's farm and it was the way we cooked ham. I love that I have this option with Silvana Meats. I buy my fresh turkey at Silvana for Thanksgiving, fresh ham for Easter and Prime Rib at Christmas, corned beef for St. Patrick's Day. They have pepperoni sticks, smoked everything, bacon, corned beef, relishes, BBQ sauces, local honey (which I believe helps relieve allergies). You of course can have your deer, elk and other meats butchered here. It is overwhelming when you first come in, but just tell them it's your first time into the store. There is a list on the right hand wall that shows the combo packs. They have a printed sheet with all the cuts of meat and prices. If it suits you better, grab one of those and meditate on it for a while or take it home and come back. Worth the visit!! read more

Cool country meat place. Went there on a Sunday afternoon and stood in line for about 20min to get in. Only allowing 2 people at a time. Didn't have much left, but picked up some frozen items. People were friendly and parking was busy but we found a spot. Wish they had more meat, but I bet they wished I came earlier. Next time we will arrive in time to get what we want. read more

Yes, the ladies up front aren't the warmest bunch. But the meat really taste different, it's better, it's great. My wife who was a vegetarian for years will now have a little bit of meat here and there. But only from this place. There one guy there who alway recognizes me and my son and will often offer him a popsicle. I don't believe for one second some of the nonsense spread in some of these other reviews. We've bought Highland Beef from the Bates family twice now (this beef is HIGHLY recommended; I'll review it here on Yelp next). The Bates family uses Silvana Meats for all the custom cutting and wrapping, and they do a fantastic job. Everything is exactly the way we asked for it to be cut, and the wrapping is tight and tidy, with everything labeled clearly. The staff there is excellent, super-friendly and very knowledgeable. They work hard and take pride in their work; it's a family-run business and I'm always really happy to support them. They have free-range chicken and turkey which are a huge hit in my family. We never eat regular store chicken any more; it's got too many chemicals, including antibiotics, in it, not to mention the deplorable way the chickens are treated. Buying them in bulk at Silvana is actually the same price as the regular whole chickens at the grocery anyway. Their Apple Honey Cured hams are to die for too. They have many smokehouse items that they make themselves and we have not been disappointed with any of them. We drive all the way from Woodinville to go to Silvana Meats. It's that good! read more

Although the selection of meats is goos our experience with the service was terrible. On a Monday morning after waiting at the counter 10 minutes the man working in the meat room didn't even acknowledge us. Finally, I said "excuse me could we get some help as we have a dr appointment in Mt Vernon?" The tall dark headed man said " don't make your time problem my problem!". My husband was insulted especially after the long wait without the man saying I'll be with you when I can etc. The man then insulted us further by saying "you should have gotten up earlier". With such rude customer service we just walked out never to return to this meat market no matter how good the meat is. read more

Well there are lots of reasons to go to Silvana Meats. My main reason is the well-raised food. After watching Food, Inc. and other similar shows about how poorly food is raised in this counrty, I decided it was better for my family to eat there. The next reason is the "carbon footprint" idea. I get a little disgruntled that my "fresh" food comes from Argentina and meat / chickens come from megafarms in the midwest / plains states. Way too much hassle for not that good of stuff! So we buy local as often as possible and try to avoid the cornfed everything (just about everything n the grocery store has high-fructose corn syrup!). We are fans of the meat we have gotten - my only advice is get your steaks cut special - the ones they pull out of the back are not as nice as one they would cut for you on the spot. The full chickens are great - full of flavor and delicious. And you cannot beat the chicken breasts. They do also have turkey and swine - so make sure you make room in your fridge! Service is good - a bit old-fashioned, but I think that's a good thing. read more

First of I would like to thanks the staffs at Silvana Meats on how they handled the situation we encountered today. My neighbor, her young daughter and I were standing outside chatting while waiting for our orders, this guy walked by making some racist remarks, we stopped talking and asked him if he just said something to us. He continued to rant and said " I don't want you in my country, go back to where you came from" and walked inside. We told one of the lady there what had happened, the apologized profusely and as we about to leave she came back out again to apologize one more time and said that they told the guy not to come back to their store again. Been a customer for about 20 years and have never been disappointed. The chicken, pork and the beef are exceptional in flavor and quality. 5 stars for the pork. The bacon is the best and you will not find this quality in any grocery store or deli. The hams are all natural with not "trites" or "trates". 5 stars for the steaks. If you have a special occasion or just want a memorable family meal, you can't go wrong with the steaks. Cut to order! The t-bones cut to 2" would even impress Fred Flintstone. 5 stars for the chicken. We buy the whole chickens. Better trimmed than the grocery store, it's a great value. All natural, the flavor is noticeably better than any grocery or deli chicken - and they are usually slightly larger than the grocery store chickens. A great, locally owned place. Great place to get very good cuts of meat. Their ham is the best you can get. We also take our fresh caught salmon in and they vacuum pack some and smoke some. The smoked salmon is as good as it gets. Another thing that keeps us coming back is that they are very community oriented and donate to many of the local non-profits for auctions and fundraisers. The owner John is retired! Now his daughter is taking over and she has a problem with people of minority (blacks, Mexicans ECT.. I have 3 brothers and one sister and each time one of them went there and got helped by her the owners daughter she was very rude and racist!! So fore warm you it's not a place for all people ! They have one Mexican who works there and he only gets paid $16 hr. While the rest get $18-$21.00 a hr. Something is wrong with that!!! read more

Silvana Meats usually does a fine job, but they had one problem the last time they butchered a pig for me. I asked for Italian sausage and I broke into the freezer the other day only to find breakfast sausage. The side meat that I asked to have more thinly sliced than usual was, though. It is worth the drive to Silvana Meats. You need to know what you want to buy, because they don't have a display case. The ribeye steaks are the best I've had, even better than the prime steaks at Haggen. The beef is local and cut to order. The prices are very reasonable. There are refrigerated meats for items like smoked pork chops which are way better than Hormel, summer sausage, bacon, snack sticks, etc. The bacon is very meaty and tasty. There are packages you can buy for combos, if you want to stock up your freezer. I like the roast pack which includes both rib roasts, sirloin roasts and chuck roasts. Some items need advance notice, so if you want something other than a steak or roast, call a day in advance. read more

I entered the shop and the lady at the counter said "Can I help you?" "Yes," I said, " I'd like to get some 1 and a half inch 8 oz boneless ribeyes." Do you know what her response was to me? She looked at me and said "That's not going to happen!" No explanation, no attempt to even be friendly, just a heaping helping of bad attitude. I ended up getting three steaks which were about twice the size that I was looking for. Now I can cut those steaks in half by myself and get exactly what I was looking for. I will not be back. There are several reviews by other patrons complaining about this lady and her bad attitude, but apparently the business model is to take pride in being rude to the customers. This is the second time I've endured this crap... The first time I thought it was a fluke but now I'm convinced that they she has no people skills and does not belong out front dealing with customers. Ordered a cow from a local farm and it had to be butchered here. This was our 3rd time getting a from this farm. No problems the first time, minor issue the second time, and rotten meat this time. In the last round we got from here there was also a paper w/some writing in pencil frozen to the meat on one of our hamburger packs. While kind of gross/annoying, I was able to overlook this. So far this time we've had 3 rotten packs of meat. 2 hamburger packs and 1 steak pack. All properly defrosted. As it's only been a few of the packs it seems that we either did not only get meat from our cow or some of the packs were left out too long before freezing. We still have nearly a freezer full of meat and feel that we have to be alert to whether or not our next pack will be rotten. Although I really love the beef that we get from the local farm, we will be looking elsewhere next time we ordered since butchering is done through Silvana meats. read more

It's ok, we only go there for some of the smoked meats and sausages. If you pay attention many of the used meat boxes outside are from IBP.. which is the same meat you get at Cash and Carry and most other stores. I can't see paying $14 / lb of dressed up New York Strip when I can get the same at Costco or Angus at Cash and Carry for a fraction of this price. It's kind of expensive for just about anything else, I suppose it works for people that live in the area as traveling to a Costco or Cash and Carry would be a waste time. read more

Went in to pick up a product that is specific to this company and walked in to about 5-6 workers standing around, no greeting, finally a man said can I help you? I placed my purchase on the counter in front of both of the very rude female counter staff, for my total, ran my card and the gruffer of the two handed me my receipt will engaged in a full mouth open yawn. So sorry for taking up time in your day, especially on Small Business Saturday. I will just continue to go to my regular butcher and find an alternative to your product. We have been going to Silvana meats for many years. The products have always been excellent. However, the last few trips we have made to this place have been very unpleasant. Each time we have interacted with a lady at the front desk who is very unpleasant, intolerant, and rude. She has an awful attitude and makes snarky comments to customers. Not only was she rude to us but she was rude to the customers in front of us as well. You would think that a small, local business would strive to have good customer service but it seems like that has become lost here. Although they do have quality products, I believe we will be taking our business to DD meats in Mt. Lake Terrace instead. They are much more pleasant to deal with. read more

Okay meat, I guess, but the free side helping of condescension really detracted from the experience. When they said the didn't sell the cut of meat we wanted (aren't you a butcher shop?), we asked if they could cut it. In their own words, it's a popular cut at grocery stores. They said no, they couldn't cut it. Then they asked us why we wanted it. Uh, because we like that cut? This is where we almost left. Someone came out to save the sale, and we ended up with kind of what we wanted, but not entirely. Then my spouse asked me if I wanted to ask them about another product I'm looking for, I waved him off, and the front desk gal said something to the effect of "I've been working here 15 years, I know a lot about meat." Then she reminded us that no one had ever asked her for the cut that is very popular at grocery stores. Look, I'll put up with less than stellar customer service if the product is exceptional, but ours wasn't. My meat was fine. And it wasn't in the prep - we used a basically fool-proof method of cooking. We've had better service and at least as good product from both Safeway and Costco.
