    Happy Mother's Day 2020!
    Debbie P.

With the current crazy Covid19 plagued times we are living in, I've made a concerted effort to support local businesses. Recently because of C19, there has been some meat shortages at the main grocery stores, so I decided to check out butcher shops in my area. Golden Steer fits the bill! They have a substantial selection of meat cuts, marinated meats, smoked meats. They also sell a variety of seasonings and rubs of all kinds, local beers, wines and even eggs! I love getting their rib eye (boneless and bone-in) - we keep it simple stupid (KISS), just a heavy helping of salt and pepper then throw it on the grill... It is full of flavor! We've tried the Maui ribs, it was good, but I think I will stick to non-marinated meats at this point. I look forward to trying their other offerings as summer grilling time is upon us!

Delicious bratwurst & hot link sausages

Go, get in your car and drive STRAIGHT THERE and buy some bratwurst & hot links. OMG . So so good! Everyone at the dinner table tonight was impressed. I have noticed a decline in good sausage all around the state which is a shame. Golden Steer Choice Meats has produced a product that fulfills our bratwurst dreams. Perfect meat to spice ratio, quality casing and they cook up beautifully. I even opted to cook them indoors tonight and holy smokes, they were gorgeous! Okay, enough about the meats. The staff there is great, friendly and knowledgeable. I'm never buying bratwurst anywhere else and now I also know where to get cherry wood chips for winter smoking. They have a bunch of wood chip variety, buns, sauerkraut, hot sauces etc. Perfect place to do some holiday shopping for the meat lover in your life! Cannot wait to go back, y'all rock.

Ina Garten's turkey roulade. Best Thanksgiving ever. Incredible recipe with quality meat provided by Golden Steer.

Great service and fresh produce! Be careful with pork - sometimes it smells too bad when cook.

A friend of mine suggested this place, it had been on my list for some time, but I honestly forgot…read moreabout it. This place is the best example of how you can overcharge when your service and product far exceed expectations. I can tell you that I couldn't tell you the difference between corned beef or pastrami and never really cared. I don't like corned beef and if you can believe it, I've never had pastrami before. I had a half of Pastrami Dip. It came with chips, potato salad, a pickle spear and hydrox cookie. The half of sandwich had twice the meat that you would get on a full-size Arby's dip. The potato salad was about 3 oz, which was plenty based on everything you got with the dip. At $20 it would be easy to call the meal a rip off, but the quality, portion and flavor made it well worth it. My only know what the bottle of Snapple at $4 Those bottles are $2.50 or 2/$4 at 7-11 and the 6 pack is often on sale for $5 at Safeway, so at 2x minimum, I thought it was too much, especially since the place didn't have water, your only beverage choice had a cost. The beef was super tender. The flavor wasn't life-changing, but it was clear, their roasting process infused flavor. The au jus was r ally good, could have used some salt to offset the lightly seasoned beef, but it still worked. The service was flawless and welcoming. It was clear they were concerned about eat diners experience. I would have rather had fries instead of potato salad and chips, but if I return, maybe I'll try one of the burgers since they come with fries. No rush to return, but that doesn't change that this is an under the radar spot that you should give a try.

This place is the real deal…read more (The line above could have been my review.) This place is a no frills good feels kind of restaurant. It feels as if it's trapped in time. A place where you go to get a d*mned good sandwich. We ordered a Philly steak sandwich and a Reuben. Both sandwiches were intimidating in size. Flavor-wise, they packed a serious punch. Both sandwiches were loaded down with meat and were cooked to perfection. If you want a seriously good sandwich, this is your place.

FOGO DE CHÃO is brilliant and absolutely phenomenal if you're looking for a Brazilian steakhouse!!!…read moreThat's about all that needs to be said... period. But that's not my style so here I go... First off, the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant as you immediately step inside is spectacular. It's elegant but with a casual feel. Or maybe it was its casual with an elegant vibe... either way, you cannot go wrong. Depending on the time of day, if the wait is long, I'd suggest grabbing a drink from the full bar. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and headed over to the salad bar/cold cuts and grabbed some select items. I'm always careful to not overload on the trimmings as I'm here for the various cuts of meats. Pretty simple process. You flip your marker (green) over for cuts of meat being offered and over again (red) if you want to enjoy your meal. Then on and off again. The skewers of meat are divine, ranging from bacon wrapped chicken, to sausages, to a variety cuts and cooked beef, pork, or lamb. I opted for a 6oz. Lobster tail dripping in succulent butter, as well! Such an amazing experience! Thank you to the staff of Fogo and all of the chefs... hats off to you! As always, enjoy and Happy Sampling!

Fogo de Chão has officially entered its flop era…read more We usually come for the full churrasco experience, but on our last visit, we were practically begging for scraps. You'd think the gauchos were personally rationing the beef for winter...we were lucky if we managed to flag down three measly slices of meat all evening. Since the skewers were treating us like ghosts, we decided to order the dry aged steak that's supposedly sized for four people. Total fiction. What arrived was barely enough to satisfy two mildly hungry toddlers. Getting anything to the table took an eternity...drinks, side dishes, basic eye contact, yet the second we finished eating, the bill appeared at Olympic sprint speed. Truly unmatched efficiency when it's time to swipe the card. To top off the premium priced misery, the women's restroom was an absolute disaster zone. At this point, paying top dollar for neglect, false meat promises, and dirty restrooms is a hard pass. There are far better places to drop this kind of cash. We won't be back.
