This place is so worth it! $14 a person and no reservations required unless it's the summer. Limited parking which is nice because it prevent overcrowding. There is a boat section and a swimming section that's safe to swim. The swimming area doesn't go deeper than 4ft and you don't need to worry about wildlife being a danger to your life. Keep in mind - it's a family area so no partying allowed. The workers are strict if there are paddle boats in the swimming area. There's a nice big, grassy area to have a BBQ with the family. Restrooms are portable and only two changing rooms. Not a lot of phone service either. The only complaint is first come-first service. If there is no parking, you have to wait your turn to get in. read more

Silver Glen Springs is one of the best springs in Florida with the spring water also being the clearest in the State and the in world! The entrance fee of $14 per person is kinda high but worth it. The water was so clear it was almost like swimming in a pool! Our family arrived on a Thursday mid-morning and had no trouble finding parking and a bench for our belongings. We were hungry and to our surprise one of the boats was selling hot dogs for $3 each--a super deal and definitely hit the spot. The highlight was definitely swimming with loads of fish and under the famous palm tree. Don't forget your snorkeling mask and fins as there is a deeper section, but you will find most of the marine life there. read more

Clear, Turquoise waters, fishes, caves, surrounded by palm trees and a real opportunity to see the manatees, what else can one expect?! It was beautiful! We had the best time - it felt like a tropical vacation. They have picnic tables and grills - so you could daycamp. A small convenience store with bare necessities like ice cream and changing rooms. Bathrooms are just porta potty's :( read more

Today my boyfriend and I visited Silver Glen Springs (25/26 yrs old). I highly recommend getting here early in the morning, probably when they open. We arrived at 12 and did not get in due to full capacity until after 2pm. Pros: 1. There are little nature trails that are nice, shaded, and beautiful 2. Parking was easy and the walk to the water was less than 5 minutes 3. The water is ice blue in color and very refreshing Cons: 1. prepare to use a porta potty and not wash your hands as there are no sinks or soap. There is 1 hand sanitizer dispenser for the whole park behind the porta pottys. 2. it is a single watering hole for swimming with 1 entrance in and out so it was quite crowded at times 3. There are 2 halves of the watering hole, one is for swimming/snorkling/relaxing and the other half, divided by a string of bouys, is a wild loud raging boat party. It was hard to enjoy the sound of any nature with the concomitant mix of blaring country, EDM, and latin/reggaeton. If your vibe is reconnecting w nature, I'd potentially choose a park where a boat party is not connected. This could be different on weekdays though as we came on a Saturday! read more

They need to update all their hours. Two different sites say 8-8 and 8-5:30 and it will be posted when it closes. Which, they did not post. They said that it's run by the gov or whatever. Whatever the case, they need accurate information for the ones who would like to enjoy the park. read more

The spring is amazing! The prices for a family of 6 not so much $93.52... they got rid of any beach type access so watching your younger kids (8-12) is impossible unless you stand at the busy entrance ramp or are in the water. I remember coming here as a kid and it wasn't near as expensive and most of the springs had some sort of beach area! We are not returning sadly! read more

Made it to this spring in 2023! We arrived on Tuesday and it was really weird to be the only one in the parking lot! IYKYK!!! it was a little bit nippy so we decided to hike the trail first. It's a very swampy and buggy trail that leads you a great view of Lake George! We then rented kayaks and it was awesome. Checking out the two springs that feed into this little canal. I guess that leads into Lake George! Eventually you see the convergence of the beautiful natural spring that meets the tanin water, yes imma need about this cuz I love it!!! I think you can get out and swim anywhere in the water but we were told about a mama gave her and her baby and we did not want to test the waters lol! We did find a adolescent gator on the way back to the head springs. He didn't give a care in the world about us. Once we were done kayaking, we figured we earned the right to swim. I've been to several Springs, but this one was a tough one to swim without fins! So strong!!! Once I got my fins on, it was an easy free dive down to the head Springs.! And omgggg soooo many fish!!! The park ranger told us that as water started to cool and summer turned into fall, all these fish called this area home. Eventually, the manatees will show up too!!! Sorry I missed my sea potatoes!!! I have to take some stars away because I came here again the other day and just now am seeing that they charged me over 40$ for two adults and an 8 year old - entry only! I'm not sure when there was such a massive increase on the cost but there is NO reason entry should be that much and that a child wouldn't be cheaper (??) had I known she was going to charge that much I would have taken my friend to one of the other springs in the same Forrest. I'm just floored , not sure how anyone would find that price even a little reasonable, I've never in my life paid that much for just entry to any other spring including ginnie springs read more

Parking- Decent size parking lot that is very close to the swimming area. If you don't like hiking, this is the place for you since it's really close. Swimming area - There is one entry/exit to the swimming area. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn't very busy. If you want to bring a boat or kayak, there is a nearby landing area to enter the water. Hiking- There is a trail nearby that goes to the lake that is flat and easy to navigate. You just can't easily get into the lake, so following the trail is just a nice walk. There are portable restrooms onsite as well as BBQ grills. read more

Beautiful springs. OPEN after hurricanes Ian and Nicole. The website says something about a twice a day opening, that doesn't appear to be he case any longer. No trouble with roads to get there. The website just hasn't been updated since January. I called before coming out and they were confused as to why as they've been open and back to normal for some time. We were here March 2, 2023 Pricing is per individual, not per car. It's a higher price than most other springs in the area, even if you are just a single individual entering. Pricing is different on weekdays vs weekends, and you enter the park, park, go to the kiosk, and they require you to wear wrist bands while on-site. It was $40 for 4 adults visiting on a Thursday. Weekends would have cost $48 for 4 adults. That said, the swimming hole is HUGE. There is no fee to launch your kayak or canoe, and if you want to rent a kayak, they have single kayaks available at $20 for 2hours. There isn't really any cell service out here, not until you get closer to Lake George. The website said from the springs to the lake is 3.5 miles, but that has to be from the farthest edge of the spring to the farthest edge of the lake opening. It seemed significantly shorter than that, but that personal opinion. For the prices you pay, you get a porta potty and no soap nor sanitizer, so plan accordingly. The location is beautiful, and worth the visit. read more

This spring photographs beautifully. Unfortunately, I went on a weekend and it was packed. Nevermind the hefty $10.75 entrance/parking fee. Even if there wasn't Covid, I would not enjoy the raucous crowd. The swimming area was very shallow, 3 ft. tops. The roped off section gradually went up to six feet plus. A second roped off area closed off the section to boats. You swore it was party USA with the boats pumping their music, and the smell of bbq was unavoidable. I can only imagine that the park will get more busy as summer ushers in. If you you choose to visit, there is limited parking . If it is full, you must wait. There is another parking area across the road at the Yearling Trail and it looks like you can purchase an entrance wristband by the spring for walk ins. Within the park there is a two mile lake trail. The staff were friendly. read more

Absolutely gorgeous spring tucked in the middle of Ocala National forest. There are several Options such as kayaking, canoeing, glass bottom boat tour ($12 pp) and/ or a walking trail. We saw otters, gators, turtles and about 6 manatees on our kayak. The run was about a Mile and a half which wasn't terribly long but full of sights to see and really beautiful clear spring wAter. PROS: Swimming area in the spring has a very idyllic, "Florida" setting Swimming area immediately adjacent to very shady picnic table area with BBQ setup (I think?) Vultures hanging out in the picnic area and I love them Nearby Lake George trail was VERY nice, very easy to walk and having occasional phenomenal views of the lake itself. I paused my walk at several of those views just to marvel at it for minutes at a time. Reportedly the second largest lake in Florida, and it shows -- I'm not used to not being able to see the other side of a lake, not down here anyway! Honestly, I think I was more blown away by views of Lake George than the swimming area. CONS: I realize this may have been because I went during the winter holiday school break, but it was CROWDED in that swimming area. Hoo boy. Way more people than I wanted to be around given "the situation." Also, and this is related to it being crowded--the entrance to the springs to go swimming was this narrow, slippery weird ramp thing. The portopotties are in the parking lot, not near the swimming area, which is a bit of a walk. I would definitely come back here, especially now that I know what to expect, but if my goal was to get real decadent springs soaking time in, instead of just lake gawking, I'd want to use a vacation day and go during the middle of some random week. But I would happily walk and lake-gawk with my friends as well as grill if they were up for it :) read more

Beautiful spring in the Ocala Forest. We asked about a military discount and they don't give one. Isn't it a State Park? Went on the weekend, bought online vehicle pass $20 plus $13 for each person. The spring is gorgeous, the bathrooms were absolutely terrible, so dirty. You would think with money collected they would have someone clean them. Volleyball was FUN! We walked out by the boats in the Spring Run, and saw so many families having a great time. So wonderful to see, and the people on the boats were so nice. We can't wait to bring our boat here next time. 4 stars due to bathrooms dirtiness. read more

WOW, absolutely breathtaking springs! We came specifically to rent a canoe for the day. Please note that canoe rentals don't start until 10am. We weren't aware of this so we had to wait a bit until they allowed us to take the canoes out. It's $42 for the whole day to rent plus $6/ person to enter into the springs. The springs are beautiful, but I probably wouldn't rent a canoe in this area again. It was a great time, but their aren't a lot of areas to take the canoe with. You start where the spring is, the swimming hole area, and then their is a very small canal that leads you to a LARGE Lake George. To canoe on this huge lake was definitely very scary and you have to stick to the sides to not catch the waves from the boats, but the sides are where many alligators are. However, the canal area is awesome to canoe in as the water is crystal clear and you see tons of fish, it's just a very small canal. You can do the whole thing in less than an hour. Overall great trip and will be back with a motor boat or to just swim in the springs. read more

Silver Glen Springs was a gorgeous getaway into nature! Perfect for grilling, relaxing in a tube and snorkeling, this spring was filled with HUGE bass to swim with. On the weekends it definitely hits capacity, so get there early or be prepared to wait in line. There's a line of boats that fence the spring with music and a good time had by all. Wouldn't be my top choice in the area for little ones, but there is a gradual drop to the spring. read more

Springs hopping with my mini me. Florida has so much to offer just explore and see. I absolutely love the springs it just takes me so long to get use to the cold water. This springs is highly populated and one side is for swimmers and the other is for boats. A must do is walk the trail that leads to the springs boil (very interesting). Definitely a family with small children hot spot. So if you have small children this is your springs. Lots of large fish just swimming around too. Day use only Springs. Easy access, lots of parking, picnic areas & Turkey Vultures. Two roped, 'swim-at-your-own-risk' areas that could be labled, 'wade-at-your-own-risk', except where the vents actually flow water into the Springs. Beautiful, but 2-3' lower than past years. 3 guys trapped a 13' gator here Jan 2017. Three big gators supposedly still swim these waters. One Water Moccasin & some fish visible today. read more
