I ended up getting a cesarean section due to my baby being breech so I didn't need a birth doula, so they gave me the option of a partial refund or 12 hours of postpartum doula services (which is what I opted for). It was great having Jessica come check up on me postpartum and go through some basics of breastfeeding, infant care, and also just giving us a small break during the early newborn days. We've recently also worked with Amanda for babysitting services and she's amazing! ERDC does it all. They are big on community and fostering support before, during, and after birth. the first two weeks were great, but then they kept changing doulas on us after we bought the…read morepre-payment package. in all we had close to 10 different doulas it felt like. we asked again to keep the same few people but owner made excuses such as "we have other babies coming" which did not make it seem like we were a priority after we were sold on the pre-paid package. initially, I recommended this service after the first week to another friend who also ended up using them. we both cancelled on them after using them just for the first month and opted to go with another agency who could help keep the same 1-2 doulas on rotation that knew the baby and our routine. We have stuck with the other agency now for over 2 months after this group and it is much better and consistent. It was annoying between the both of us we had 5+ different doulas. they deprioritize and sometimes cancel the shifts on you after convincing you to buy the prepaid package.

TERRIBLE BILLING PRACTICES!!!!…read more One of the first bills I received was shockingly high (It was the first bill we received after 7-8 months of services). I went through the line items and found that they billed me for a service that my son was not receiving. I reached out to the billing department and they acknowledged that there was a billing error and corrected the bill. We switched providers because they were unable to provide services at my son's school. Several months after discontinuing services we received a bill from them for several random dates of service from the past. We expressed our frustration with the delayed bill in September and thought that our account was settled then. To our astonishment, we just received another bill for services rendered 11 MONTHS AGO! My household receives bills from dozens of different providers. These bills arrive within ~30 days of services rendered with the only exception being Raleigh Therapy Services. When billing is delayed by so long it makes it difficult for personal accounting and creates stress and anxiety because amongst several recent medical bills, it is an unexpected expense. I had to spend the entire day yesterday combing through records from RTS and my insurance company to try to understand why I was receiving a claim 11 months after services were rendered and to try to understand if I would be receiving any future bills (which there are still 2 more claims that haven't been processed). I have worked as a health care provider billing insurance for medical services as well as my current position at a medical software billing company. I understand that insurance issues can be very frustrating and sometimes take several phone calls to resolve. The provider we switched to, K&M Therapeutics, billed for the same service (plus a new one) and we received bills monthly starting 30 days from service and they were billing the same insurance companies. It seems like they need to hire an adjudication claims specialist to have someone dedicated to trouble shooting these issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner. My son really liked the therapists at RTS..... this is just a billing inefficiency issue leading to a poor customer experience. I believe it can be fixed if they want to put the effort into trying to.
