The staff have always been pleasant and helpful with any questions that I've had. We love seeing how happy our children are when we pick them up. Hearing about their day and that they love their teachers is heartwarming. It really makes me feel better knowing they enjoy their time here. I love all of the things they do with the kids from field trips to the Easter egg hunt every year. My kids were at another center before and the owner was not approachable, and gave off a I'm too busy for you vibe. It is nice to see how hands on Mrs. Jessie is with the kids and center. I've seen her changing diapers, driving the bus, cooking, cleaning, running around playing tag outside with bigger kids, doing art projects with them, and even sitting in the baby room snuggling the babies and feeding them when all the babies were crying at once and the teachers couldn't make bottles fast enough. Ms Sam in the ones is my favorite! She is always so patient and kind. The world needs more people like her! Oh! And I really like the new tablet system for daily sheets. I enjoy getting pictures during the day of what my kids are doing.

This DayCare is an absolute NIGHTMARE! The owner is horrendous and nothing more than a money…read morehungry, self-righteous, could-care-less-about-children individual!! Since the beginning she and her assistant have been difficult with communication, no paper trail of what is being billed, our bill was wrong 90% of the time, added fees, and worst of all my children were hurt several times in this "daycare." I was given no explanation, the wound on my 6 month old baby's face was not assessed well or properly treated and we had to take her into the ER for an infection.....When I addressed this to the teacher and the owner they had no answer and then blamed it on me, "It must have happened at home." I dropped her off at 7:30am and there was nothing... I picked her up at 2pm and there was a 3 in gash on her left side of her face. My eldest child was tormented by other kids who were years older and should not have even been in the same room. My child was mercilessly picked on and because of this her reaction was to stand up for herself as I taught her. When she did the teachers would scold her and segregate her from everyone else... to top it off I was given a diagnoses of ADHD for my eldest child by an unprofessional part-time teacher at Playful Hearts who seemed to think she was a child psychologist. When I asked this "teacher" why they thought this she stated "because of her attitude"... nothing more, she could not elaborate, she could not give me examples... nothing! Now this good-for-nothing pile of Sh*t daycare and its owner are looking to file a lawsuit because my payment plan to pay off charges that have no validation, no documentation to support being owed, isn't good enough. I stated I am paid bi-weekly and could have it paid off in full within 2 months, single income mom of two.... "that's 15 days too long. if the balance is not received by XX/XX date than we will file paperwork the morning after its due...." the date they want full payment by is on a Wednesday... and I don't get paid until Friday... FIND ANOTHER PROFESSION YOU SCAM ARTISTS AND MOMS OUT THERE, DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PRECIOUS BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Kettle Moraine YMCA branch located in West Bend at River Shores has been around for a few years…read morenow. It's a little surprising that this will be the first Yelp review of the facility. The location is an adults only YMCA and caters to the active seniors community. I've only visited one occasion thus far to check it out and I (mid 40's) was on the youthful side. The facility is in the excellently refurbished West Bend Company factory. There's a nearby coffee shop for the post workout and/or Tochi Ramen. There are plenty of workout machines and free weights in a comfortable atmosphere. The locker rooms are spacious & maintained nicely. Unlike the main Y branch you do need to provide your own lock, but with the age of the clientele I don't envision theft from lockers is much of a thing here. The shower stalls provide about twice the space in comparison to the main Y branch. The facility offers a sauna in the locker room. There is no pool or whirlpool. I hope a whirlpool is considered in any future expansion as I think it would fit in well with the adults only theme. The facility offers programming similar to the main Y branch, albeit in a smaller scale. A great downtown location and West Bend is lucky to be home to two YMCA facilities.

We had hoped for a supportive and developmentally aligned experience at Montessori Children's…read moreHouse, but our experience left us disappointed. Our daughter has had some challenging behaviors, which we openly acknowledged and were eager to partner on. However, rather than taking a proactive, skill-building approach, the response often felt reactive. Instead of working with her to understand and address the underlying causes of her behavior, the approach focused on managing the situation in the moment and the bad behavior (which wasn't the root cause) --ultimately resulting in her being sent home. What was most difficult is that we did not feel there was a consistent effort to help her build the skills needed to navigate her challenges. We were hoping for collaboration, strategies, and guidance aligned with Montessori principles of supporting the whole child. We understand that supporting children with behavioral needs can be complex, and we truly value educators. However, families need a partnership--one that focuses not just on behavior, but on development, growth, and problem-solving. I share this feedback in the hope that the school can reflect on how to better support children with diverse needs in a more proactive and skill-building way. These are still good kids having a hard time and don't deserve to be sent away during these tough times. They deserve connection and care.

If you are wondering what that is, please look that up and know that this business is set up to provide education that aligns with the Montessori standards. That being said, I can continue to the nitty gritty. Montessori education is wonderful and may appear disorganized to some when in reality it is actually very well planned by a teacher knowledgable in this unique style of learning. The teachers here that I have met seem very nice and have wonderfully run classrooms. However, I have found that in winter, they hardly ever let the kids out. I can whole-heartedly understand the difficulty of suiting up children for winter and playing in the snow when they are so small. Half of recess time is wasted just getting some kids ready. But I do think fresh air is important and explorative free play is essential to the Montessori way. Why would you not want children to experience outdoor play at a time that is so crucial to their development (see Richard Louv's book, "Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder"). Also, the blonde woman with little to no makeup I see in the afternoons who watches the door and the group play area can be awful. Not to me, but to the kids she's watching. She outright yells at them even when I'm right in the room! Sometimes she says things that are rude or put them down publically. These are children who are probably only about three years old! This is terrible! I hate listening to her while I wait for the child I pick up to get everything from her cubby. This place, like many daycares, is a bit too small for the number of children who attend. I understand good business, but I also know a thing or two about children, development, and education, and I would say that should take priority over business. Too many daycares have their heart in the wrong place. If you don't value kids, don't create a business meant to support and develop them when it really only edifies you. Anyway, that's my rant. If I were looking for childcare in the area, I would avoid this place, but still find another Montessori style education for my child.

I find it APPALLING that a daycare center would have a staff member who has had her own child taken…read moreaway working for them. There are reasons why children get taken out of the parents homes and are being raised by others. VERY disturbing given the fact that she still does not have custody and is ALLOWED to work with other children given her back ground and history. What upsets me the most is that the owner has been given this information and has still done NOTHING about it!!!
